If you were given a chance to win 1 BCH from the juungle's sticker contest, what would you feel? What are the initial thoughts that come into your mind when you imagine holding that large amount of money?
Since we were a child, we often hear the phrase, "money can't buy us happiness.". This has been implanted in our minds and somehow it became our guide to be good and better individuals to others. But as time goes by, I am starting to question this old tenet. Can't money buy us happiness?
The world is facing a global pandemic right now. Along with this, the global economy is also crashing down that resulted in the loss of profits of businesses and millions of people losing their respective jobs. In this situation, we can't even imagine how life will be if we don't have enough money. Without money, the things we can do are limited; we can't buy our needs, the things we want. This controls our freedom, and it is natural for humans to seek freedom. If we feel controlled, we tend to feel unhappy.
Let's say you are craving for a pizza. You went to a pizza shop and upon entering you noticed that you don't have enough money. You're planning to go back to your house but you remembered that there's nothing left to your budget because the remaining money is allocated for paying your bills. You feel frustrated and just endured your hungry stomach.
You can see from the example above that your choice is controlled by your financial capability. You can't buy the food you want because you're broke. This is where I start to doubt the old phrase, "money can't buy us happiness". How come money can't buy happiness if this is the only key to buy all the things that make us happy. Did you get my point? Sorry if you're confused π. Money is the most valuable thing in this world and without it, you can't buy the things that will make you happy. Lets us not be a hypocrite. You're dreaming of having a large amount of cash. We all want to be rich. You're dumb if you will still insist that you can live without money.
Let's go back to my question, if you were given a chance to win 1 BCH from the juungle's sticker contest, what would you feel? What are the initial thoughts that come into your mind when you imagine holding that large amount of money? Of course, you will be delighted. You may even write a post or article telling how happy and lucky you are. This also where you start to think about what to do with the prize you won.
If you are not convinced that money can't buy happiness, let's take another example. Most of us are here on this platform to write and wait for Rusty to visit us. We are happy when we've gained tips from the bot and we are down when we received nothing.
It is indeed that money can buy us happiness. Let us throw that old-fashioned statement that money is not associated to happiness. Instead, we must learn to be satisfied because even were rich, if we are not contented, we will not appreciate life and be happy with it.
Look at those wealthy people who are not contented with their wealth. Do they look happy in life? Of course not. They keep on looking for more even they have enough. This is also applicable to those people who keep on buying things they didn't need.
I hope you understand what I am pointing out (^_^γ‘). It is also kind of short than usual haha. If your reading this, I am thankful that you exerted your time reading the whole article.

I would actually start investing more with that money XD But who says money can't buy happiness when it can buy our most basic needs. The saying is rather outdated now, tbh
