15 Years Old As A Legal Age To Do R-18 Things?
DISCLAIMER: This article is only talking about my opinions, and I don't have enough references.
Last time, in our Discord Server where I'm selected as an Axie and Pega scholar, they've been talking about living a teenage life in Croatia. By backreading our Coach's story about his life as a sixteen year old in his country, all I can say is "Wow". If we'll contrast each other's life as a fifteen year old, we're literally different. When he's sharing his life and how he's interacting with his scholars, I can say that he's a bit matured. How could they just live independently as a teenage life unlike here? Good thing that I'm able to write this article after reading a good news from the government.
Going back on our past conversation, they've been talking about some facts on their country. Since I feel bothered to get in the middle of their conversation, I'm just backreading their messages, and this caught up my interest. What if this law will be submitted in the Philippines? Are you support or not?
After uploading the screenshot from our past conversation, I can't help but to be confused why they can make out in just an early age. For me, 15 years old to create intimacy with your loved ones is quite scratchful on a head even it's not irritating. Did you think that it's related on their beliefs, or it's just what they think it's right? Did they implement it to balance the population growth, or in other reasons? Just to be clear, I'm not saying that I'm against with it.
Anyway, in Philippines, making and sharing dirty jokes in social media for sake of clout is quite legal in some perspective of other individual. Every time I'll scroll upon my news feed, I've been seeing more sexual related post. Most likely, they've been sharing some memes about liquor, and tagging their boyfriends or girlfriends about their lustrous intercourse even they are not yet still graduated in high school.
Due to several influences that we are getting in social media include our status in life, teenage pregnancy is becoming a talk of the town. If you'll be scrolling on your Facebook account, you can see many teenage parents who already rasing an infant in just a young age. Imagine, you are just 13 years old, but you already have a baby breast feeding and the worst part is your partner didn't vouch his responsibility. Would you be ashamed or not?
Based on the stories that I heard in either documentary and drama anthology shows, teenage pregnancy might be a cause of effect of the following reasons; lack of knowledge about sex, influence of alcohol, partner pressure, rape, personal problems and lastly the poverty. That's why I couldn't agree more if several people judging them just because they didn't experience their condition. Sad to write this, but in the world we're stepping, they just want to talk about the life of others without educating them directly. Instead of teaching them in private, others like to mind their past wrongdoings by sharing a humorous post about teenage pregnancy just to gain the attention of the mass. It's more fun in the Philippines, right?
As what you have watched, teenage pregnancy has a big effect on the economy of the Philippines. This struggle is a mechanism why the poverty is cycling in legacy which is passed from generation to generation. That's why I understand the organizations engaging the government to file a law where will help to reduce the teenage pregnancy in the Philippines.
Apart from searching a documentary on YouTube about teenage pregnancy here in the Philippines, I also searched on YouTube about the teenage pregnancy in Croatia. And as I expected, I didn't see any results about it. I believe that they are more knowledgeable and open-minded about this topic, so they are capable enough to adopt this kind of policy.
A day ago, I saw on my Facebook account that President Duterte signed a law which protects the minors about teenage pregnancy. Based on my understanding, if an eighteen year old and more individual has attached in sexual activity with a minor below 16, it means you are already guilty from the violation of rape. Good thing that the President signed this law, and I have a big respect for those senators who's in the back of this law. Correct me if I were wrong, but the senator behind this bill is none other than Risa Hontiveros. This is a good and warm welcome, especially this women's month.
How about you? What are your perspectives in sexual activities in the age below 15 Years Old?
I'm against it but we can't always be there to watch them. We can only advise and warn them and hopefully they will take our good advice. We should keep educating them about the consequences of their actions. Kids these days don't have accountability.
