The Four Temperaments: What are you?

We've been doing a lot of challenges lately which aims to get to know us. Challenges where we can share a portion of ourselves so that our readers will know us better. I know you are already familiar with those because if not, then you're outdated.

Most of the users in here have already participated in the challenge, even me have already join the bandwagon and decided to create an article for the challenges.

Some of it are:

So for this blog, why not let's try to know ourselves better by taking this test about four temperaments.

I don't know if you're already familiar with it but the four temperaments that I am pertaining to are namely Sanguine, Melancholy, Choleric and Phlegmatic. But before I define each characteristics, why not let's get to know first which are we out of the 4 then after that, I'll tell you all about the corresponding characteristics of each temperament.

Directions: I have here easy 44 questions that we should answer. Each question contains some characteristics and we will rate it with 1, 2 or 3, with 3 as the highest, whether the characteristic being mentioned fits our personality or not.

Above table is the grading sheet we will follow. Just easy and simple right?

So if you have time to spare and if you are also curious about what personality do you have, why not get a pen and a paper, or you can just type it on your notes, then answer this test with me.

• Easily annoyed but also forgiving

(42) Revengeful, carries grudges

• Don't easily forgive

• Make decisions with an aim for a revenge

(43) Self-sufficient, proud, stubborn

• Very independent, decisive, and opinionated

• A dictator

(44) Indecisive

• Always want the benefits but don't want to make an effort for it

• Always thinks about better plan so he cannot make a fast decision

Grand Total: (sum of all subtotal) 22+16+27+19 = 84

To interpret the result, we have to see it's percentage.

Here's the formula: Subtotal x 100 / Grand Total

Sanguine = 22 x 100 / 84 = 26%
Melancholy = 16 x 100 / 84 = 19%
Choleric = 27 x 100 / 84 = 32%
Phlegmatic = 19 x 100 / 84 = 22%

If you will add all the percentage result, it will be equal to 100% (if I included all the decimal points).

I am actually surprised with this result that I have. I already took this test few years ago and back then, I'm a Sanguine-Melancholy, but I guess, I have changed in all those years so I'm a Choleric-Sanguine now.

Anyhow, since you already reach this far, I assume you also took the test with me. So let's now proceed to what does each temperaments mean.

Sanguine

Some characteristics of being a sanguine are enthusiastic, funny and insincere. They are also carefree and is optimistic. They always want to be the center of attention, but not in a negative way. They just want to keep their companions entertained. And there are really no dull moments with them. However, they almost take everything easily and that results to being insincere.

Are you a sanguine? Tell me if it's definition really define who you are.

Melancholy/Melancholic

Melancholic people are perfectionist, accurate, and critical. Melancholy is the opposite of sanguine. They are organized and detail oriented, they pay too much attention on details. They are bright people who always have an idea about things but they don't voice it out. They are gifted but they tend to hide it. They are also not the expressive type of person who can tell everything about what they think or feel, but they are good at writing because that is where they can express themselves.

Are you a melancholic? Does its definition fits who you really are?

Choleric

Choleric people are decisive, insensitive, unemotional and tactless. They have strong personality and they are the type of people who are born leaders and are great leaders. Only that they can be really aggressive and dominant most of the time. If they want something, if they want to achieve something, they would do everything about it and you can't get in the way.

But since I'm a choleric, allow me to share more good sides about people who are choleric. They are also great in decision making, they are achievers, they think positively and they view problems as challenges. They are not the one who easily gives up, they are persistent, they are not easily affected by what others would feel, they really have strong personality and that made them tough. (sorry for being bias. lol)

Are you also choleric like me? Are my rambles above accurate?

Phlegmatic

Some characteristics of phlegmatic people are peaceful, soft spoken, caring and gentle. Softies, yes, that's who they are. These people are just so kind and soft, the opposite of choleric. And I really do love them. But phlegmatic people can be really slow also. It may take some time before they process things that's why they are also not that fast on making decisions. Even to jokes, for instance, a sanguine drops a joke and then all people are already dying out of laughter and on the phlegmatic side, they are still processing the joke. Choleric and phlegmatic are not a really good combination. The choleric may lose his patience whenever the phlegmatic doesn't easily gets what he's saying. Lol

Are you phlegmatic? It's okay, it's okay to be soft, and kind of a bit slow, you guys are the best, and you always shares genuine care to people.

By the way, I got the test material at home, while looking for my test results back then. There's a lot of tests about this on the internet but I don't find it so accurate as this one. I tried some and I always get different results so I decided to look for this one and since I want this to be fun, I shared it with you so that you can also take the test.

I'm aware that this has become so lengthy already so I appreciate you guys who reads till the end, specially to those who made an effort to take the test.

Speaking of taking the test, if you tried it, you can share your results on the comment section and then tell me if it's accurate, if you think that the characteristics that you get really define who you are right now.

And maybe, you can also make an article out of it. Perhaps, you can share how you discovered what type of a person are you. Then you can run through all the questions, like if you are a sanguine, you can get back to questions 1, 5, 9, 13, 17, 21, 25, 29, 33, 37 and 41 and you can share to your article if you are really the type of person that the question is pertaining to.
