In life, we always have to choose which paths to take. There will always be a time in our lives where we have to decide about something. And just like what I've said on one of my articles before, we always have a choice.
And now that we have to make a choice, whether going with the easier or much harder kind of choice, we have to stand by on the decision that we make and just see what lies ahead on that certain path we take.
Anyway, the sole purpose of this article is just to tell you that it doesn't really matter whichever decision we make. What matters is that on our every decision, on every journey we went through, we are learning and we are growing.
I know these two phrases are so much familiar with you already:
go with the flow
go against the flow
As I have already mentioned, whatever path we take doesn't really matter but let me just emphasize these two paths that we can take.
Go with the flow, as you all know is the easy way out. Perhaps, this one is an easy decision. All we have to do is to do what others do. Either we agree to them or just accept the situation.
And there is nothing wrong with going with the flow. Our life, our decision. And if we want to make our lives easy, we can choose easier choices that are less complicated like this one.
Go against the flow is the antonyms for the former phrase that I have mentioned. In my opinion, this one is a brave move. Going against others decision because we don't agree is really brave for me. I mean, I am someone who doesn't have the courage to voice out my opinions most of the time so i'd rather go with the flow than following my own path where i'll feel like i'm alone. Well, this is just my opinion anyway.
Going against the flow was a tough move. These people thinks differently, i'm not saying they are wrong or right but they are brave enough to stand with what they believe.
Flow, on the other hand, symbolizes process. And a process means a series of steps that we are taking to achieve a particular end.
So you see, either we go with or we go against the flow, both are process. We need to take a series of steps on whichever choice we made and it'll both lead us to a particular end.
Now, to apply my title, here comes the growing part. As it is defined in the dictionary, growing means becoming greater over a period of time.
If we will combined grow and flow together, it means that we can become greater through a process. And a process can take time, so we only achieve growing over a period of time. We can grow on our own pace because there is no rush in growing.
Both going with the flow and going against it a path wherein we will undergo over a certain process. So, allow me to repeat it again. It doesn't matter whether we go with the flow or we go against the flow, what matters is that we grow, on whichever flow we take.
We don't just let ourselves past through those journeys without even learning anything, or perhaps, without even growing. Those paths, those decisions, those journeys are all processes that takes time which gives us an opportunity to grow.
Whatever it is the we will face, whatever path that we will take, whatever decision that we will make and whatever journey that we will face, let us keep in mind that the most important thing that we should do on that every process, is to learn from it, and allow ourselves to grow through it.
Again, let's always perceive to grow with the flow.
