Are you Happy With Your Success?

Are you happy with your success? Many would have a response of " of course i'm happy! who would have not be happy if you are successful? Are'nt you?

Let me just thank @Magical_Wrld for the idea of this article before we proceed. Thank you bro for your article "Art of Comparison" that somehow made me asked myself am i successful ? Or, am i happy even if i am not from others point of view? There was a bell ringing on my head upon reading it and it won't stop i know unless i write something about it too.

Let's start from this beautiful quote from the famous Drag Queen RuPaul that says:

" The secret of success in every field is redefining what success means to you. It can't be your parent's definition , the media's definition , or your neighbor's definition. Otherwise , SUCCESS will never satisty you. " - RuPaul

What a great quote is'nt it? As i've said in my previous article that i am an Introvert. I don't know if it has something to do with it or i'm just really focus in my own little world that i don't pay much attention with other peoples lives. Not that i don't care about what's happening around but i could honestly say that i am truly happy with my friends , relatives or even acquaintances achievements or success without the urge of wanting the same for me. I have my own definition of my success and i don't expect them to understand me but rather respect what makes me happy.

Am i too proud to say that i am happy? Happy even if i am not successful from others point of view coz i don't have lots of money? Don't have a grand house , airconditioned rooms ,expensive vehicle or branded clothes ? Would you tell me that i'm pretentious human being ? Truth is , I AM HAPPY with my life now. Simple , not complicated life yet meaningful one.

I don't measure my success from other peoples standard. I don't compare my life with them nor rant because they have big nice houses, latest model of expensive vehicle, travelling around the world or have lots of money to spend. I am busy resolving my own issues , thinking of what to do with my own world , building it the way i want it that i don't have time to compare it with them. Let them rule their own world and i'm going to rule mine.

A close friend of mine after travelling to Japan with her family and met a common friend working there , once asked me. Do you want to go to Japan and work there too like Sol? I know you can perfectly do the job as a pre-school Teacher like her ( am a BSBA Finance major) She's asking if you want to try , eventually you can get your family and live there too , she added.

I know the intention was good but i just replied .. I can't imagine myself waking up early in the morning rushing to my work place everyday and spending my whole day working and leave my family behind. It's not me i guess. That's not the kind of life i wan't to live. I wan't a simple life with my family. The kind that i have time to teach my own kids. Raise them to be good human being. Know them well before other people do. I want to enjoy my life and my time and not to race with other peoples achievements. I have my own pace and i'm satisfied with it.

Recognize your own meaning of success and for sure you'll be happy with it. Measuring it with your friends standards or what our world are feeding us then it will be an endless race for unknown or undefine success.

I'll be hypocrite if i say i don't need money coz i really do, a liar if i say i have a perfect life coz i don't , hallucinating if i say we don't have worries or problems coz reality is we are struggling. But who has a perfect life anyway?

I don't have an airconditioned room that will ease the heat of todays weather but i'm fine with my electric fan and don't worry much about the high electricity bill. I don't have means to go different places but do i have to reach all those places to be happy? I don't have expensive watches to wear but would it give me more time into this world if i wear one? would it give your time back? Nope right? So why base your success with it?

If meaning of success are base on material things , money and goals or dreams achieved then why are some successful people committing suicide? Is it because they are not happy? So how do you define success?

I still have lots of dreams and i'll do my best to achieve that goals but not to please somebody but to make me and my family HAPPY.

Success in other fields i may want to reach but happiness i got even if i'm far with it.
