Judging others or being judged ourselves. Greetings my dear friends of this community of readers, today I was reminded of a story I read a long time ago and I want to share it with you, Once a married couple decided to go on a visit to town to do their shopping. They got the donkey ready and set out to go, on the way the wife got tired and the husband decided that he could ride the donkey while he continued on foot.
As they entered the village the people looked at him and complained to each other and said.... *"Look at that young woman riding the donkey while the older husband has to walk on foot."* The husband heard the complaint as he was walking and said to the wife... *"Now you get off, I am tired and must get on the donkey."* The wife consented and the husband then got on. When they went halfway through the village they heard people stop and murmur and saw them saying… *"Look at that man, he is riding quietly on the donkey while the lady has to stand on her feet all alone."*
The husband hearing this said to the wife.... *"Wait, I must get off the donkey so he can rest"* and they continued walking just as they did in the beginning. As they walked deeper into town, people saw them and said... *"What a strange pair of people, they come walking and tired and don't ride the donkey."* Seeing and hearing this the husband and wife looked at each other and decided to pay no more attention to anything they heard from those people. They would never do anything that would please everyone and they went on their way as they pleased. The moral of this episode which is not originally written the same as the story because I remember it but not in great detail but it’s a very similar story to this one. We cannot go through the world having a life of complacency for others. A person will never have a life that in the eyes of others is a perfect life. No matter how much love, no matter how much happiness you show, no matter how much you have achieved, you will always be judged by other people for having many defects, because generally we like to judge everything we observe. Sometimes people who judge us do not see their own defects but they can see the defects of others. Sometimes people tend to judge others very harshly with their excuses, for example, if someone did a bad deed, but when it’s his turn to do something similar he justifies himself very softly. It’s not like that, in the same way that we judge we should judge ourselves. We should be stricter with ourselves than with others and as far as possible we should not judge anyone. God has given each of us a life. God has given us the gift of free will for us to choose the best path to follow, the path He left us in His word for those who believe in Him or the path we choose to follow. In whichever path we choose He will be with us but we must know that the path we choose will be much harder to follow than the path He left us. But in spite of everything we will feel accompanied by His presence and we will try to do the best we can. So let us not allow other people's judgments to modify our way of living or acting. Unless it is advice that you have requested and you decide to do it, in that case it is your decision and yours alone to do what you are told without then throwing out your own. Own your life, own your actions, be grateful for what you have and live your life to the fullest and consciously. May God bless you. Thank you my friends for always being there accepting my posts and commenting with respect whether you agree or disagree. I respect you all in your opinions. Thank you for reading and thank you to all my sponsors.

Trying to completely please the world has no end because humans are different and what Mr A. likes might not be liked by Mr C. Experiences have shown that the more you give attention to the talks of people about your life, the more frustrating it becomes. Give a deaf ear to them, please yourself according to how God want it
I agree. You can't please everyone.
Yes ma'am gertu. You did goods. You achieve something. You help the others still there are people who will say a bad words to you. There are a lot of people like that exist in this society have an attitude problem. They are always judging you even you never did wrong. It's really toxic. It's really chaotic in mind. In our place there are people like that ma'am Gertu.
Yes, my dear Ramona, there are people like that all over the world. In the end they too will have their trial.
Yes maam gertu that's true. Life is a cycle.
Everything we do will be judged by the others. And that's how the world works is. We must accept the reality that we can't control their thinking. Therefore, we must not pleased anyone just to accept us or our doings. As long as we judged ourselves and knowing that we're not doing anything wrong that affects others then we must happily continue what we are doing
I agree live happily and do it healthily no matter what others say.
It's really unavoidable and judgemental people are everywhere.. Sometimes, we are also being judged by the mistakes we have done in the past despite the changes we've made...it's their minds' fault.not ours.
They are generally perverse minds that are only representatives of evil here on earth. Live as happily as you can in peace with yourself and pay no attention to evil because they take away your peace and the pleasure of being with God at his side.
I wouldn't deny that I am always affected by the judgment of others about me but I am learning it doesn't matter.
That's the best thing you do. God gave you a life so that at the end of time you can present your work to Him. Live in peace with yourself and don't feel bad about the prejudice of others. You are never worth anything in the eyes of the selfish, gossipy or envious. But for God you are his most valuable jewel, take care of yourself, He loves you as you are.
What a quick and fast story, but I like the lesson from the story. Being judged by others doesn't reflect on what we are. I think that being true and genuine to ourself will make us to close our ears and don't bothered what other says.
It is true. Build your own life in the best possible way. Try to please God and that will be your reward.
Woah I love this story so simple but so deep, whatever we do, wherever we go, people will always have their says, they are easy to judge just because they see it now even without knowing the backstory and what's behind on ones journey. Make a life people, I'm also like this, I'm easily be affected to judgment throw by people to me, and I hate myself for feeling that even that is not true.
I recommend that you strengthen your spirit so that you know that you must only please God. When you ask the Father and you see that He grants it then you should know that you are doing well and He is with you. And that alone is enough. Learn to have a closed ear for evil and do the good that your spirit desires. People and evil do not disturb your peace and your life.
Thank you madam I really appreciate ypur good words and advices. I agree that I must only please God and not anyone.
No matter what we do, people would always have something to say. So we should do what we want that would make us happy and stop restricting ourselves because we cannot please everyone.
Yes, I agree with you.
Inorder to please others most of us listen to what others say. But finally we will understand that we don't reap anything out of it. It's better to judge ourselves than give a chance to listen to others.
It is different to ask for advice than to be advised without asking for it. If you live a life in peace with God do not let yourself be disturbed by the evil that abounds in the heart of the wicked on earth.
I learnt to never listen to people's word at a very young age, some says it pride but I don't care, it my life and I have the right to live it to the best of my satisfaction as long as I didn't hurt anyone. Have come to know at this young age that no matter what you do, you'll get judge on , so why don't you do what makes you happy so when they judge you, you won't feel pained ..
The life you build for yourself should be your greatest pride. Make yourself great for God, build your best life without harming and always doing good. Then do not be disturbed by the evil that lives in people's hearts because their mouths will be full of it. Be happy and please God and He will always be in your heart.
Thank you for your wise words @gertu13. I appreciate
You're welcome.
Judgement is everywhere. Wherever you go, whatever you do there's always voices to uttered. It is now common! They might be express their personality in that way.
I agree with you.
Truth is people judge others so easily but not themselves. And a lot of people don't even know they are being judgemental
They don't know because that has been their way of life. They live justifying and criticizing severely others and very softly themselves.
That has been the way people live right from time, judging people in whatever they are doing.
Many people still their lives trying to conform to how others do it, or based on what they say. For as long as we are not hurting anyone with the way we live, then just go ahead and do it. We cannot be stifled by judgments of everyone, many of who have no idea what is going on in our lives.
We can't really please everyone. Coz no matter what we do, they all have the say to our every move. Why others just don't mind their own business right 🤦🤦. They easy to judge.
This is a great story illustration, I have heard of it before, people judge people without cause, and some people can be judgmental in ways that makes them feel as if they know it all
Yes, that is precisely the misconception they have. They think they know everything.
People are always easy to judge others when they themselves also have their own faults. I'm glad the couple in the story decided not to mind the people anymore because they realised they can't please everyone
To change we must live our experiences. This is how they learned and so can we.
Yes ma'am gertu. You did goods. You achieve something. You help the others still there are people who will say a bad words to you. There are a lot of people like that exist in this society have an attitude problem.
Yes, you said it, they have a problem with themselves, with their language, with their mind. Let us pray for them that God will change their sick hearts.
People will always have something to say, good or bad, praise or criticism. It is best to listen to ourselves, because the world cannot be pleased. That is a saying in my country.
It's a great saying in your country.
I stopped listening to what people think a long time ago.
Yes, and it's great. It's what makes us free and maintain great inner peace.
This is the one of the best attitude that people had. But they don't even look themselves if they also deserved to be judged. I just ignore them until they get tired and then cannot get a single penny of making issues
The one I read was of a father and son, not husband and wife but the lesson is still there and it was delivered loud and clear.
Thank You for reading by.
Yes ma'am, I think I remember this story very well ever since I was a kid. As a matter of fact, it' was one of our favorite back then. No matter what we do, we can not always please everyone at the same time. At the end of the day, we would be the one that will be unhappy at last
I agree with yoU.
***That's the sad reality. Even if we did something good to others, still we will receive some negative judgement from others. They sometimes don't see their own fault because they are too busy minding others lives... Before I am affected with this judgement from others but as time pass by i learn to ignore those. This is me and I am who I am, if they don't like me then it's okay. I am not living here today just to please others, i am here today Because of a purpose that God give to me.***
Amen and so be it, my beautiful friend.
Lindo relato gracias.
Yes, the best thing to do is to be happy with what we are and not to wait for the praise or rejection of others.
