Life On Animal Planet
Humans and animals have a lot in common, when you think about it. We both have brains. We both breathe air. We both live here on Earth. But what would happen if we switched places?
It's time to flip the script. Have you ever wondered what life would be like if the animals ran things, and we were just their entertainment? If we were the ones trained to work and cater to their needs? What if the world were flipped on its head, and animals were the ones writing our daily horoscopes, creating new technologies, conducting interviews in suits and ties?
In this new article, **Life on Animal Planet**, I'll discuss just that: how our world would change if animals took over. From school to work, from home to the dentist's office—we'll explore how animals would handle it all. This isn't about making fun of animals for what they're not capable of (after all, they're pretty smart!) but about showing how our world could be better if we gave these creatures a chance.
Imagine a day in the life of a human being. You wake up, get dressed, and go to school—where you have to sit quietly and listen to your teacher, who is an elephant. You finally get out of class, but then you have to go to work—and your boss is a giraffe! You're just about ready to go home for the day when suddenly the bus driver, a pigeon, stops and kicks everyone off because he's too afraid of some butterflies. Finally you make it home… only to learn that your landlord is a grizzly bear.
Now imagine having this day happen every single day until you die.
At this point, you may be thinking that maybe humans should be in charge after all. But we'd like to challenge you on this point: we think that if animals were in charge of our world, we would actually be better off. What would happen if…
**Animals were in charge of school?**
We would definitely not have to sit through long lectures about things like irregular verbs and the circulatory system. Instead, our favorite teachers would let us play more games and read more picture books. We would have recess all day long, and we could skip all those boring classes that we don’t really understand anyway!
**Animals were in charge of our jobs?**
We wouldn’t have to worry about showing up late or forgetting to turn in an important project. Our boss wouldn’t get mad at us when we spilled coffee on a report or forgot to feed the dog. On the contrary—our boss might just roll over and lick our face!
**Animals were in charge of driving?**
We wouldn’t have to worry about traffic jams, road rage, or getting dinged by the parking meter. We wouldn’t even need cars! We could just run through the woods to our destination. Isn’t that wonderful?
**Animals rule the world?**
There would be no more pollution. Animals don't want to live in a dirty place. They're very good at keeping their habitats clean. I recently watched a raccoon spend an hour digging out a trash bin to get a single almond out of it—and then meticulously cover up the hole he dug before leaving. Can you imagine how responsible they are? I bet, some people can't even pick up their trash.
Aside from that, there would be no more political bickering, because animals don't like pointless arguments. When they want something, they try whatever they can until they either get it or give up. If they do try something that doesn't work, they don't waste time trying to convince anyone else why what didn't work for them will work for someone else—they move on and try something else.
No this is pure speculation on my part, but I bet that if animals were in charge of our world, there would be no warfare. They'd also probably be better at managing resources and taking care of the planet. Animals are known for their highly developed senses and instincts—I bet they'd be able to detect threats to our ecosystem before we could even see them coming.
We could learn so much from the example set by our animal friends, especially when it comes to leadership. Can you imagine a world where everyone was as in-tune with the earth as your average otter? Or what about a society where everyone knew their place and had a job that suited them like the hummingbird does?
If you are anything like me, you'll be lying down on your desk laughing at the ridiculousity of this article while also admitting its underlying truth. The idea of putting the animals in charge is farcical, but if they ruled our world, it would probably be better than human rule. It sounds so great that sometimes I wish I lived in Animal Planet myself!

A Letter From My 70-Year Old Self
Dear young self,
Hi!
I know you don't believe it but I'm YOU, just from the future. Yes, it's me, your 70-year old self. And I know what you're thinking, because I know you better than anyone else in the world and, well… we're literally the same person. I'm writing you because I want to remind you that you are worth so much more than you think you are. I know it's hard to believe right now, but that doesn't make it any less true.
I know you can't see me now, but I promise you I'm here—and I'm so glad to be writing you this letter! Because I've been waiting such a long time to share my wisdom and advice with you, and let you know how much you mean to me: so much that I'm going to spend the rest of my life trying to get this letter to you.
First of all, I am immensely proud of the person you've become. You've accomplished so much in your life—I honestly can't believe it's me who's saying this, but you are literally living my dream life. Thank you for taking care of yourself and for doing such a wonderful job of honoring my most cherished goals and desires.
Look at you, all grown up and stuff. I just wanted to write and let you know that everything is going to be okay. I know that right now, things feel a little uncertain—like you're not sure what's going to happen next or how this is all going to end up. But I promise, it's all going to work out.
In fact, the future is looking great right now. You're 70 years old and you've had a long life full of things that make you proud. And even though it feels like sometimes nobody sees what you do, it matters. It really does. I know this because when I look back at my life, there are so many things I wish I could have told myself when I was 20 years old. But here are just a few things I've learned over the last 50 years:
*Don't hold back! I know that sometimes it's easier to take the road less traveled, but it doesn't mean that it's the right one. Go after what you want in life with vigor, and don't be stingy with your time or energy when it comes to making your dreams come true. You will never regret giving 100% on something, even if you fail in the end. But maybe failure isn't even a thing anymore, who knows?*
*You are worthy of asking for what you want. You shouldn't worry about inconveniencing other people—just be honest and kind and direct in your requests, and let other people deal with how they feel.*
*It's okay to be selfish. It's okay to be selfish sometimes. Seriously, if we're all not kind to ourselves, how are we ever going to be kind to other people?*
*Don't worry so much about the small stuff—you'll look back and laugh at how stressed out you were over a spilled cup of coffee or a small argument with your friend. It'll work out (or it won't) and there's no point in worrying about things that are out of your control or haven't happened yet.*
*Get more sleep, take better care of yourself, and turn off your phone more often. Seriously, it'll help with everything else in your life if you just take care of yourself a little bit more and get enough sleep at night.*
*Try to spend more time with yourself and less time with people who drain you, and if you're working a job that doesn't fulfill you—quit it. You're doing great! Work at a job you love. Stop telling yourself that you have no regrets when in reality, you have lots of them but you don't want to think about them too much because it makes you feel guilty.*
I know you're feeling a little lost right now. You have this feeling that there's something you need to be doing, but you don't know what it is. I know that sometimes it feels like things will always be this way—but they won't! Remember that your life matters. Your existence is not an accident: each of us has a purpose in this world (whether or not we know what that purpose is).
I'm writing this letter to remind you of the things that are easy to forget when life seems overwhelming. I'm so proud of everything that's happened in your life so far—but I'm even more excited for the things that are yet to come! So keep moving forward, because the future is unwritten and now is the time to write it! Write your own story however you want it to go—you can be anything!
See you in 50 years!
Sincerely,
Your 70-year old self

The Story of the Unmotivated Student
Once upon a time, there was a teen named Jonas. He was a student at a University in their province. He loved learning new things, but he struggled in school. He was having a hard time at college. He tried everything he could think of to improve, but nothing worked. He wasn't a bad student—it's just that no matter how hard he tried, he found it difficult to keep up with his work. And as the stress of trying to keep up with everything built up, he found himself feeling more and more unmotivated.
The worst part was that none of it seemed to matter. Jonas knew he was smart and talented, but now all he could feel was an overwhelming sense of dread about school and the future. He couldn't find his motivation! He didn't feel like he would ever be able to catch up, and that he was wasting his time. He was tired and he just wanted to sleep. His friends were stressing about grades and he just didn't care. He was worried that he would just float through college, waste his parents' tuition money, and end up working at the local fast-food chain for the rest of his life.
He tried everything he could think of to improve, but nothing worked. He thought if he focused his energy on one class or one task at a time and if he just stopped hanging out with his friends so much, maybe then he would find the motivation to become a better student and do better in school. He even went to his parents for help. They told him to stick it out and that everything would work out in the end, but Jonas knew that advice wasn't going to cut it. But after trying many different approaches, Jonas knew it was time to accept defeat.
He began to consider dropping out of school because he saw no hope for improvement.
But one day, Jonas had a dream where his future self appeared to him and gave him several pieces of advice:
*"You have to stop being so hard on yourself. You're not a failure; you just haven't figured out what motivates you yet! That's all right! Just trust that you'll find it if you keep looking. If you're having a hard time getting started, try not to beat yourself up over it - just give yourself a break and start fresh tomorrow."*
*"Find something that gets you excited - a goal you can work towards. Think about how accomplishing this goal will make you feel and remember that feeling as you work towards it."*
*"Connect with someone you trust. If you're having trouble finding your motivation, it might be time to connect with someone who supports you. Reach out to someone in your life who encourages you and talk to them about what's going on in your life right now. See if they can help you come up with some ideas for how to get motivated again!"*
*"Do something kind for yourself every single day. This could be taking a few minutes each day just for yourself or spending time with friends who lift you up. It might also be doing something nice for someone else - like volunteering at an animal shelter! Whatever makes YOU feel good is what matters most here!"*
When Jonas woke up, he thought it was all just a dream, but he decided to take the advice to heart. The dream was so real to Jonas. Suddenly, he realized he had been searching for motivation, and it had come to him in the form of this beautiful dream. He realized that he had been beating himself up for failing his courses, which made it harder for him to focus on doing better in the future.
Jonas suddenly felt energized and ready to seize the day! He went to his classes and found himself paying attention for the first time in months. He even chatted with some of his classmates about their plans for graduation. He found what motivated him and was able to turn around his college career.
This story is a little different from the others in the sense that Jonas didn't actually find his motivation until it was nearly too late. It is a story is something you've probably heard or maybe even lived yourself: **the unmotivated student**. You know what I'm talking about - the one who can't seem to find any reason to do well in school; not even the threat of a low grade is enough to get this person to study.
If you feel like it's hard to get motivated and succeed in life, you aren't alone. The reason why most people are unmotivated is the lack of a true purpose. The lack of motivation is just a symptom of your ultimate goal not being powerful enough. However, you can be more successful if you find your motivation! But finding your motivation can be easier said than done, especially when you are tired, stressed out and feeling a hundred other emotions at once.
I wrote this story because I feel that there are many of us out there who struggle with motivation. I've always been a hard worker, but I won't say that I haven't had my moments where my motivation has fallen short. It may not be as severe as what Jonas experiences are, but it's something that I can relate to. And when you realize that you're in need of some motivation, a fresh set of eyes can often help you find your way. My hope is that through reading Jonas’ story and ultimately finding some guidance, you can take away some inspiration to kick start your inner drive and get you back up to speed.
Motivation comes from moving forward, not waiting for inspiration to strike!

Getting Started With Bitcoin Cash: A Guide for New Users
If you are curious about Bitcoin Cash, you have likely had a lot of questions. Maybe you've heard about the potential of cryptocurrencies, or that it can make you rich. Getting started with Bitcoin Cash isn't as difficult as it sounds. Most new users begin with a Bitcoin Cash wallet, and then learn about the benefits of using cryptocurrency for their purchases.
Bitcoin Cash is a cryptocurrency, similar to Bitcoin and Ethereum. It was created in August 2017 when Bitcoin, the world's first cryptocurrency, encountered scaling challenges with increasing transaction volumes. To solve these challenges, Bitcoin Cash was created as a new version of Bitcoin that increased the block size and improved transaction fees by making them faster to process. If you're new to cryptocurrency like me, I recommend you to learn and understand these fundamentals:
**What Is Bitcoin Cash?**
Bitcoin cash (BCH) is peer-to-peer electronic cash that enables instant payments to anyone in the world. Unlike traditional currencies such as dollars or euros, bitcoin cash is not issued or controlled by a central authority. Instead, it relies on a network of nodes that verify transactions and maintain the integrity of the blockchain. The main difference between Bitcoin Cash (BCH) and Bitcoin Core (BTC) is that transactions on the former are much more affordable and fast. That's why it's often referred to as "the real bitcoin." This makes bitcoin cash an ideal currency for online transactions where speed is important and security cannot be compromised - like buying and selling goods over the internet!
**How to Get Bitcoin Cash?**
There are many ways for you to get your hands on some bitcoin cash including buying it from an exchange or mining it yourself with special hardware called ASICs (application specific integrated circuits). As for our case, we earn BCH from tips given by @TheRandomRewarder , sponsors and other users in this platform to our articles.
**How to Store Bitcoin Cash?**
You can store your money securely on your mobile device without having to worry about hackers stealing it because bitcoins are stored in digital "wallets" that require authentication before any funds can be spent or transferred out of them. There is also a growing list of wallets that are compatible with Bitcoin Cash if you want more options.
**Where Is the Best Place to Use Bitcoin Cash?**
Bitcoin Cash is intended to be used as money, which means it should be spent and used to make payments for goods and services. Bitcoin Cash is accepted by a large number of vendors—both online and in person. The speed of transactions and low fees make this practical for everyday use, where other cryptocurrencies have not yet caught up to this standard. You can use bitcoin cash anywhere that accepts it as a method of payment. The transaction will be completed quickly, for a small fee—or often for no fee at all! It's perfect for situations where you might normally use cash or credit cards, but there are some places where bitcoin cash is a little more useful than others.
**How Can I Learn More about Bitcoin Cash and Cryptocurrency?**
There are many ways to learn more about cryptocurrency and Bitcoin Cash. The easiest way is through YouTube, which has countless videos explaining how it works and how you can use it. There are also many sites online dedicated to educating people on cryptocurrency as well as forums where you can ask questions from other users. You can always join the discussion in the Bitcoin Cash Reddit community, or use Slack for more real-time discussion and chat with others interested in BCH. The Bitcoin Cash community is growing with each passing day as more and more new users come on board. There are lots of useful resources out there to help you get started with Bitcoin Cash like the Bitcoin Cash Youtube Channel, BitcoinTalk Forum, Reddit forum, and many other places to contribute to the ecosystem.
**What's Next for Bitcoin Cash?**
As cryptocurrency continues to become more popular and accessible, we expect to see more innovations come out of the industry. Bitcoin Cash is the future of money. If the last couple years are any indication, then the future for bitcoin cash looks bright. While it may have been a niche product when first released, now it's gaining popularity and traction with merchants all over the world who want to accept this new form of payment. Despite being relatively new compared to other cryptocurrencies, Bitcoin Cash has quickly become one of the most popular cryptocurrency options thanks to its low transfer fees and overall stability and speed.
**Conclusion**
Overall, the prospects for Bitcoin Cash are bright. The cryptocurrency is making inroads into several markets, and there are always incentives for more vendors to adopt it as a form of payment. This makes it a strong candidate to continue gaining adoption and value in the coming years. While excitement around Bitcoin Cash may not be enough to supplant Bitcoin, BCH's unique characteristics make it a compelling alternative. Don't let its history as an altcoin scare you off—Bitcoin Cash is here to stay, and will likely continue growing as time goes on. for now, keep your eyes on Bitcoin Cash and how it continues to evolve in the cryptocurrency space.
The following list above are the things need to be learnt because it will help you use and understand Bitcoin Cash. From how to get started with it and where to buy, also how to secure your wallet, get a Bitcoin Cash token, and how to learn more about the community. Well, hopefully the article covered basic and beginner type information. I hope that you find this article helpful and it gives you a good insight into what I believe is the future of money. I want to repeat that: **This is for those who are totally new to the idea of Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash.** If someone already knows what it is, uses and understands it, then all the power to them.
Good luck and happy investing!

Chris Rock’s Mistake Doesn’t Make Will Smith Right
Maybe you've heard about the trending news. Will Smith's slap to Chris Rock, for making a joke about his wife Jada Pinkett Smith, has set tongues wagging.
I agree that Rock's joke was not okay. It's hard to watch someone be picked on by another person just because of something that is not their fault. And Will Smith resorting to violence, especially in front of a crowd and worldwide television, was out of line too.
So who is at fault?
Both of them did wrong. Yes, they both did a mistake so I am not on anyone’s side here.
Making fun of the way someone looks is never okay. Jokes about hair can sometimes be fine, but this was not one of those times. Rock is an old friend of Will and Jada's, and they should have known better than to let such a weak joke stay in his set in the first place. But Will? He should have just said something and didn’t let himself fill with rage, especially during one of the biggest moments of his life.
If someone I love is making a public appearance and someone else makes a joke about them in passing that I think is offensive, then I'm going to say something. I know it can be awkward to do so, but I'd rather risk being uncomfortable for a few moments than do something unnecessary. If you are in a situation where someone has insulted you or someone you love, and you think a physical response is necessary, then you're actually making things worse—not better. In fact, it's even possible for you to come out of the situation looking like the bad guy, no matter how funny or clever you might believe your comeback was.
**So if Will Smith is so clearly wrong, does that make Chris Rock right?**
Absolutely not! Okay, so maybe Will Smith was out of line. But that doesn't make Chris Rock right.
There's nothing funny about making fun of someone's natural appearance. I don't think Chris Rock was trying to be malicious, but that doesn't make the joke any funnier. Jada Pinkett Smith is a gorgeous woman with beautiful black hair. He should know better than to say something so ignorant and offensive about her looks, especially because she's been very vocal about how much she loves herself and her hair and doesn't appreciate people making fun of it.
You see, this wasn't just a joke at Jada’s expense; it was also a joke at the expense of all those people who have had their hair judged as unprofessional and therefore unworthy of being in the workplace. And that is never funny.
**What can we learn from this?**
What happened is the best example of "**A wrongdoing that cannot be corrected by another wrongdoing."**
Jokes at the expense of people are usually not funny. Comedians get a free pass to make jokes, but they need to know when and where to do it. Of course, in this case we don't really know what else happened between these two actors or whether this really was just a joke gone wrong.
And while the instinct to correct a wrong is human nature, violence should never be an option. Will Smith could have responded or handled things differently, but he didn't. At first glance, you might be thinking to yourself, "Well, that's understandable." But the correct response isn't to counter that negative action with a more intense negative action. Violence is never the answer. It isn't a force for positive change. So even though Chris might have deserved punishment for making fun of Jada Pinkett Smith's shaved head, two wrongs in this case still don't make a right.
The good thing here is that both men admitted their mistakes and sent public apologies. Much like how Will Smith should never have hit Chris Rock, Chris Rock should never have made those jokes about his wife's hair. It just shows us that both man didn’t want to hurt the other, and they are both committed to reconciliation. Hopefully these actors will use this situation as a learning opportunity in the future.
That said, the real takeaway from this incident is how damaging these kinds of situations can be for human beings like us. So we should all try to be more understanding when someone makes a mistake and give them a second chance rather than piling on more criticism and making things worse.
You don't correct a mistake by committing another one. You don't cover a mistake by trying to top it in attention or force. You correct it by making things right and moving on. We all make mistakes, but it's how we address them that defines us as people.
Always remember that everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about so always choose to be kind!

Who’s your bet? 2022 Philippine Presidential Elections
`Note: In this article, I focused between BBM and VP Leni, since they are the two most talked about candidates for 2022, the top two candidates in surveys. I don't intend to disrespect, insult or belittle the other candidates by not including them in this article. I strongly believe that this article is in no way decide who the winner will be. It is still up to the Filipino people.`
Who will be the next President of the Philippines?
Philippine politics is a serious matter that affects every Filipino, even our daily lives as well. From crime and religion to corruption and poverty, we see it on TV news stations or every time we pick up a newspaper.
Every election, we see a lot of people being dragged into the political debate which is quite understandable since we are all entitled to our own political views. It is also quite interesting to note that most of these people have just chosen a side according to who’s popular or who’s the lead in a recent survey. Others may choose based on what their mothers, fathers, sisters and brothers are choosing.
If we look at it closely, more than half of us Filipinos don’t really know why we claim such and such party as our own. We don’t know what their platform is or if they can even bring the change they are promising us to make. Is it because we are just fed up with the way the government is going right now? Are we tired of the same old promises and unfulfilled promises that politicians always make? While I am still busy working on my dreams, I am still very much aware of what is going on around me and am keenly interested in how our country will fare in the next six years.
At the top of the list are Bongbong Marcos and Vice President Leni Robredo. Both having their own strengths and weaknesses. Majority in our country is divided between those who are pro-Leni and those who are pro-BBM. And it seems that this election will really be all about them. Which one of them is the better candidate for presidency? This is the question looming in the minds of many Filipinos as we approach another presidential election. Are you one of those who are still undecided on who to vote for?
**VP Leni, a better choice?**
While many Filipinos are still doubting if VP Leni is the better choice, we cannot deny that she already has served our country as its Vice President. VP Leni Robredo has been in this position for almost 6 years now. In other words, she already proven her worth to our nation. VP Leni may not be a perfect public servant but her supporters know that she is a woman of her word and that she can be an effective leader. More importantly, Leni is someone who has a good understanding of what the Filipinos need because she has been directly involved with projects geared towards alleviating poverty and promoting women's rights in our country.
A lot of people say that she was only elected as vice president because of her husband. I actually believe that isn't true. She was a public servant before she ran for vice president, and she has shown her work ethic and integrity during her term as a congresswoman and as the Vice President of the Philippines. She has proven herself capable of leading the country thanks to her background in public service and her experience in policy-making. Although many believe that she is not fit for presidency because she focuses on negativity instead of solutions and implementing her own projects; there are still others who believe that she has what it takes to lead our country.
**BBM as the better candidate for president?**
On the other hand, Bongbong Marcos has been out of politics since he lost in his bid for vice presidency in 2016. He is currently leading his own political party called the “Partido Federal ng Pilipinas.” For some reasons many Filipinos still believe that BBM is the better candidate for President in 2022.
People know him as the son of former President Ferdinand Marcos, who ruled the country for 20 years. A lot of his supporters believe that he is so much better than VP Leni Robredo and that he truly cares about the future of our country. The majority of them are also loyalists who genuinely think that he will bring back the glory days of the Philippines during his father's time.
He has decided to run for presidency because he believes that he can do more good things to our country if he will be given the highest position in our government. BBM has served in the Philippine House of Representatives from 1992 to 1995 and again from 1998 to 2007. He also served as Senator from 2010 to 2016. During his time as Senator, he was known for his work on lowering taxes and increasing public spending on infrastructure projects like roads and bridges. He says that running for presidency is not about having glory but rather it is about serving our fellow Filipinos and helping our country to be at par with other developed countries.
BBM and VP Leni each have their own support base. However, all the candidates have a lot to offer to our country. Which one will come out on top? Regardless of what people say or what they prefer, it’s up to us to decide who we want to lead our nation for the next six years. It’s time to choose someone who will protect our own welfare and not just those celebrities or social media influencers. We need to make sure that we choose only the best person for the job. The next president should be someone who can lead us to progress and development. Who knows maybe that someone is between BBM and VP Leni? Or it can be from those who are not included in this article. We can only wait and see.
The whole country will undergo change depending on who we choose as our next president. That is why it is important to understand the candidates’ platforms, what they can offer and if they have the heart to serve our country. It is up to us to decide so use your vote wisely!

Are You Thinking About Investing In Crypto? Here's What You Need to Know
Cryptocurrency is a buzzy financial concept, but what is it? Is it worth your time and money?
**What is Cryptocurrency?**
The most important thing to know about cryptocurrency is that it’s a digital form of currency that’s decentralized, meaning it doesn’t need a government or bank to operate or store. It exists on a private peer-to-peer network and is not subject to taxes.
Crypto is the term used when referring to cryptocurrency — Bitcoin being the first and most popular crypto. Cryptocurrencies are an alternative form of exchange, like gold, stocks and bonds.
**Is Crypto Right For You?**
The truth is, cryptocurrencies are not a get rich quick scheme. Like any other investment, you have to do your research and learn how crypto investing works before you start throwing money at it. That’s why I’ve put together this guide so that you can make a more informed decision about whether or not crypto investing is right for you.
**1. The more you know about crypto, the better your chances for success.** Do your research and make sure you understand what you’re getting into before making any investment decisions. Read reviews and look at the history of price changes for each cryptocurrency. You'll have better luck if you know something about the currency before placing a bid.
**2. Know the risks.** Investing in crypto comes with risks, so make sure you know what they are before you invest a dime. Invest what you can afford to lose. If you’re looking for quick cash, you’re likely to be disappointed. But if you go into it with your eyes open and have realistic expectations, investing in crypto could provide some rewards.
**3. Diversify your portfolio.** Don't put all your eggs in one basket! The best way to mitigate risk when investing in crypto is to spread investments across different types of currencies and exchanges. A diversified portfolio could help protect you from market risks like volatility, fraud and hacking.
**4. Avoid getting caught up in market hype.** If something seems too good to be true, it probably is. Never invest more than you can afford based on speculation that prices will rise just because everyone else says they’re going to. Stay grounded and do your own research before making any decisions about how much to invest and when.
**5. Don't get greedy.** Greed is one of the biggest reasons people lose money on investments of all kinds, and crypto is no different. Don't fall victim to FOMO (fear of missing out). When you see prices skyrocketing, don't think that this is going to last forever and that now's the time to jump in.
**6. Learn from mistakes.** Always remember that investing in crypto is about finding smart strategies that can help you gain profits. You are going to need to learn how to take risks and make mistakes before you will be able to find the strategies that work for you. The best way to learn is by doing—and making mistakes in the process—but that doesn’t mean that you can’t learn from other people’s mistakes.
Cryptocurrency is in the news a lot these days. Maybe you hear about someone who invested a few hundred dollars in Bitcoin a few years ago and is now a multi-millionaire. Or maybe you have friends who are telling you about their success investing in crypto. It’s hard to avoid the temptation of wanting to jump on the bandwagon.
So, the time has come to begin investing in cryptocurrency, and you are gravely concerned by what you've read here. Don't fret! I have identified some "rules of thumb" that will help ensure that your investments go as smoothly as possible. I've also written about a few of the main drawbacks to investing in cryptocurrency, so try to avoid these as best as possible.
But before you invest, it’s important to understand that cryptocurrency, while potentially very profitable, can also be highly volatile. To succeed at investing in crypto, being smart is essential; all of us needs to do our homework, and we need to stay up-to-date with all the latest developments in the crypto community. If you have the right mindset, then you should be able to find a way to make it all work for you! Crypto investing is not for the faint of heart!
While I'm by no means an expert on cryptocurrency, I've definitely been learning as much as I can about it. And I think you should be too. Cryptocurrency is one of the fastest growing sectors of the investing world, and it has the potential to change our money, banking and politics forever! That's a fact! But that's what makes it so exciting!
**Just a friendly reminder:** Invest what you can afford to lose.
**Happy investing! Good luck!**

My Dad's Birthday: Here Are Some Things I Want To Tell Him... But Didn't
Happy Birthday to the best father in the world!
Today, my father turns forty five years old, and as I rack my brain trying to come up with something that would adequately express how much I love him, I'm reminded of all the things that make him such a wonderful person. It doesn’t seem like that long ago he was teaching me how to ride a bike or cheering me on from the sidelines of my soccer games. But now, I'm so excited to celebrate this milestone with him.
My dad is always there for me. Whether it was helping me with homework when I was in school or offering his advice when I had a tough decision to make as an adult, he was always available to help me out. He helps me to figure out what my goals are and then works with me to achieve them. Then, when I hit those milestones, he celebrates with me.
As I look back on my childhood and the years that have passed, I remember his big smile and how it filled me with a sense of security. When I'm scared or sad, he was always there to make me feel better. His jokes are so corny that they might as well be cheese-flavored, but they’re so much fun to laugh at—and now that I think about it, he’s still telling them (and they’re still just as cheesy).
On top of being a loving and kind man, he's also someone who has taught me a lot about the value of hard work and kindness. He's always there for our family, no matter what. He has always given his all to provide for our family and even when times were hard, he never let on about the struggles he was facing because he never wanted us to worry. He's an amazing father who always makes sure we have everything we need. He's also a great husband and takes good care of my mom. I admire how he works so hard everyday and still has time to spend with us.
He's also an excellent cook—my mom says she often can't get me out of the kitchen because I've been happily watching him make food for our family. I learned how to cook because of him. Some of my favorite things we do together is go biking even if it rains (which it's sure to do), and we play basketball to just enjoy being outside together.
My dad is also a lifelong sports fan and I can say that I share with his enthusiasm with sports. When we watch sports together on TV, he is always cheering for "his" teams. He gets so excited when they win that he jumps up and down on his bed with his arms waving in the air. And I do the same!
It's hard to believe he's been here in this world this long. I remember when he used to be younger than he is now. He's been a great role model for me throughout my life and taught me many useful skills that I've used regularly ever since. He's taught me so much about life. I'm very proud to call him my father and can't imagine having anyone else as a parent. He is such a gift to my life and I'm so grateful for the time we've had together! But more than anything else, what makes him a great dad is how much he enjoy life and the people in it. Even in the toughest times, he never lose sight of how lucky we all are to be here together.
So on this day, his forty fifth birthday, I hope that he continues to enjoy life for many years to come. It makes me happy just knowing that he's out there having fun and making people smile!
Happy birthday Papa! I love you!

War Will Not Bring Order To The World: Russia and Ukraine
The war between Russia and Ukraine has been brewing since the 2014 annexation of Crimea, which was followed by a slow-burning separatist conflict in eastern Ukraine that has turned into a direct confrontation between Russian and Ukrainian troops. It is one of the biggest international conflicts of the past few decades, and it has taken many lives.
It is unclear what will happen next, but one thing is certain: war will not bring order to the world. The only way to end this conflict peacefully is through diplomacy. During the Russian war with Ukraine, we have seen the best and the worst of humanity. This time is a chance for us to take a stand against war, by taking steps towards peace. We can use this as a catalyst for change.
**The move to peace**
*What needs to be done for peace? What can we do about the situation in Ukraine and Russia?*
We need to speak up, and say '**No**' to war. War will not bring order to the world. War will not solve any problems or answer any questions. It only brings death, suffering, and destruction. We can make a choice: life over death; love over fear; unity over division; building rather than destroying. We can choose to be strong. We can choose compassion and mercy instead of anger and aggression. We can put aside our differences and work together for the common good of all people, especially those who are suffering so deeply right now in Ukraine and Russia.
When we were children, our parents told us that we should speak up if we saw something wrong happening to another child—to say 'No' when someone is being hurt or bullied. That's what we need to do now as adults: say 'No', stop the violence, help each other find solutions that bring us together instead of driving us apart.
Do you want to say no to war? Do you want to take a stand for peace? If so, here are some ways you can do that:
**Stay calm.** In times of chaos it's easy to get angry and frustrated. It's important that we stay patient and calm in these times. When you encounter negative situations or people, the best thing you can do is be the bigger person and choose positivity over negativity. We need to listen carefully when others are speaking and make sure we understand their point of view before we respond or act on it.
**Work together.** It's important that we work together as a community during this time, sharing our knowledge and experiences with each other in an effort to come together—not apart—to make a change. Work together with others who share our values, interests, and goals; this includes people from all over the world who believe peace is possible even when it seems impossible at times like these.
**Choose life over death.** War is death; it's destruction; it's pain; it's suffering; it's heartache; it's loss; it's sadness; it's division; it's fear; it's anger...it doesn't have to be this way! Choose life over death today! Choose to speak up!
It's easy to forget that many of us live in a world of peace. It's easier than ever to get a war-front news feed, but the truth is that many of us live in a world where we can go about our lives without worrying about being attacked by a foreign power.
We don't have time for war—we have too much work to do! With endless innovations in science, technology, and social justice, now is the time for all of us to work together and build a better world for ourselves and for future generations.
I am praying for Russia and Ukraine to stand down and talk things through instead of going head-to-head. I am praying for our Ukranian and Russian brothers and sisters who are stuck in the middle of this terrifying conflict. May they stay safe and their wounds heal soon. I am also praying for the leaders of the two nations to have clear minds and pure hearts so they can talk it out and stop the war before it escalates even further. I am praying for everyone’s safety!
I know that many people are frustrated by what's happening, but war will not bring order to the world. We can do better than this!

You're about to run out of money! What should you do now?
Hitting rock bottom is no fun, but it's important to remember that you're not the first person this has happened to and you won't be the last. Running out of money is an unfortunate part of life for many people, but it's also a problem you can solve. Sometimes, it can feel like the end of the world, and like there's nothing you can do about it. But it's not! When you're broke, the most important thing to do is to stop and think calmly about what your options are. There's a lot you can do to get back on track, and I’m here to help. In this article, we'll go over some things you should try when money gets tight.
The first thing you should do is figure out why you're running low on cash. Are you spending more than you're making? Is something unexpected eating up your cash? Have your expenses increased without a corresponding increase in income? Is there a one-time issue that caused you to go over your budget? Or are there factors in your life that are causing your money to run short quicker than you want it to? Take a look at where you spend your money and figure out what areas are unnecessary or can be reduced significantly. It is critical to understand the source of your problem in order to develop the best solution.
Next, take a deep breath. Nothing is permanent in this world, so your financial situation, no matter how dire it seems, will change if you work at changing it. This is just a temporary setback. You're not alone: everyone goes through this at some point or another. As long as you take action, you'll be able to get back on track in no time.
Once you've calmed down a little bit, it's time to make a plan. Cut costs as much as possible. Cancel any subscriptions you don't need (or maybe just downgrade them), and put off non-essential purchases until your situation improves. This will give you time to save up some cash while also minimizing the impact of your current situation. In addition to cutting costs, consider learning how to budget better so this doesn't happen again.
If you still need more money, consider selling something like an old phone or tablet—or even just clothes that don't fit anymore! Go through your closet or apartment and find things that you no longer need. Selling these items to friends or even strangers via Facebook marketplace can help boost your cash flow. Even better if you have some big ticket items that have been sitting around collecting dust—those might be the best way to get cash fast!
You could also look for a part-time job. When you run out of money, finding a part-time job is the first thing that comes to mind. It gives you a little cash flow and keeps your bills paid with an income source, at least until you can get back on your feet and get your finances back on track. But remember that finding the right job can be harder than it sounds because you need to look for something that fits your skillset and work schedule while still allowing you to make enough cash to pay your bills.
Lastly, you can ask for some financial help from your parents or grandparents. Talk to them about the situation and explaining how bad you need it. They may not be able to give you much right now, but they may be able to help guide you through the process and get your finances in order.
I know, I know. This list is a bit depressing. That's not what anyone wants to see when they open something about making your money stretch or figuring out how to manage your finances. But the point is that you don't have to stay in this situation for long if you pay any attention to your money and make a few adjustments in spending habits.
What are your key takeaways from all this?
Don't let a lack of money scare you. No matter how good your situation looks now, there will probably come a time when you find yourself out of money and that's okay. You can get through it, so long as you don't forget to ask the important questions namely: why did your money run out?
I hope this helps. The reason I wrote this is because I had the same problem. I came up with a thousand excuses and there were a million reasons why I couldn't get money and I started to feel seriously depressed about the situation. However, I strongly believe that in every problem, there's always a solution. Good luck to everyone and don't give up. There is always a way!

An Interview with a Cockroach: The Truth About Them
Worldwide, humans hate cockroaches. They're called "filthy," "disgusting," and "useless." But are they really? As a human, it's hard to see cockroaches as anything other than disgusting. But what if they're just misunderstood?
Cockroaches are the world's most successful and prolific creatures. They have been around for millions of years. The earliest cockroach fossils that have been found date back to over 300 million years ago. They've survived every major extinction that has ever happened. They've survived 100 times the radiation human beings can survive. If there were ever an apocalypse, no matter what form it took, they're going to be here to tell the tale.
However, they are a source of much contention. Many people think of them as pests, and the negative connotations associated with cockroaches rarely change minds.
If they had the opportunity to speak, what would cockroaches say? Would they explain why they love dark corners and crevices, or how their presence in kitchens is beneficial?
We were fortunate enough to be able to sit down with a cockroach who was willing to talk! And this interview may change the way you think about these misunderstood creatures. I asked the cockroach different questions to get to the bottom of this situation. Luckily, he shared why he and his fellow cockroaches like dark, hidden places, what they actually do in kitchens and what their role in this world is.
The biggest myth about cockroaches is that they will crawl into people's mouths while we sleep. The truth is, this has never happened in human history and it's highly unlikely to ever happen because cockroaches are more afraid of us than we are of them. They can live for months without food and water, which means that if you find one in your house it may have been there for a while before making itself known.
Cockroaches are nocturnal and prefer not to be seen by humans. They tend to stay out of sight most of the time, but are often discovered during the nighttime when people are looking for them. When we asked why this is, our interviewee explained that it is because cockroaches use their senses of smell and touch more than their eyesight. They can't see very well in the daytime because light makes their eyes hurt. Cockroaches can also eat any kind of food or waste. This means that cockroaches know where things are around them by using their sense of smell and touch. The interviewee shared that the best place for a cockroach to live is somewhere dark where they don't have to worry about being seen by humans all day long. They thrive in dirty environments, but that doesn’t mean they’ll avoid clean ones.
Cockroaches are underappreciated members of society whose work is usually unacknowledged. They do a lot more for humans than we realize and not just by being an easy target for shoe-wielding people. It's true that they like to eat trash, but it's not because they're disgusting and gross. They are actually providing a very important service by eating the trash humans leave behind – even the grossest, smelliest, most stomach-turning trash you can imagine. They eat it all! They have a strong stomach for this type of thing and they don't mind getting their hands dirty.
An important fact about cockroaches is that they are vital members of the ecosystem, contributing to both the environment and the human race in ways that benefit us all even if we don't know it. They are keeping the ecosystem healthy by breaking down dead plants and animals into nutrients that can be used again by other organisms. Did you know that when they eat organic matter and poop it out, they are recycling it into nutrients that plants can use to grow? That's right! Their poop is literally plant food. They're part of a chain that helps plants grow—which means they're helping us grow our food! This keeps our planet healthy for future generations to enjoy too! And while they might not be as cute as bees or as majestic as butterflies, they're just as important to the cycle of life on Earth as those other creatures are.
Cockroaches are actually clean insects, and they do not spread diseases. Up until now, many people don't realize how much they contribute to our health and happiness. They think of cockroaches as pests, but we all need to take a moment and admit the truth that cockroaches are actually doing a lot for the environment, for us. They are very important part of nature's balance. If we didn't have them around to do this work, then there would be no new soil or plant growth; plus our garbage would pile up everywhere!
This interview leads me to wonder if we've been misjudging cockroaches all along. Cockroaches aren't as bad as they seem! They are smart and fast, and they’re just trying to live their lives in this world. We should probably be thanking them for keeping our public spaces free from waste and filth. With so much riding on their shoulders, it's about time that we shed some light on cockroaches and their behaviors. They are keepers of the Earth and friends of all life on the planet. So next time you see a cockroach scrambling across your kitchen floor, take a moment to appreciate them before you try to kill them.
I think the main take away on this interview with a cockroach is that it is important to be considerate of the lives that we share our world with and to learn to live in harmony with them. And even though we can't always have feelings for every other lifeform on the planet, it's good to know that some of them have feelings for us. So if you're afraid of cockroaches, hopefully this interview will help you overcome that fear. After all, they have an important role in our world - they're helpful to us and they deserve our respect!

Indelible Memories: Travelling Back In Time
Are you feeling nostalgic for the good old days, when life was simpler and you didn't have a care in the world?
It's no surprise that many of us long for those simpler time in our lives. The truth is that this is a common feeling, one that comes to all of us as we grow older and realize that life isn't quite as carefree as it once was. I think the main reason we long for those uncomplicated times is because life is very hard. It’s a struggle to make ends meet, and everything we’re expected to do seems so difficult. I’m not saying that the old days were easy by any stretch of the imagination, but I think it’s worth reflecting on how much technology affects our everyday life.
I understand that it can sometimes be tough to feel like you're stuck in the present, with all of its chaos and uncertainty. I’ve been there, too—and I feel you.
I don’t know if it’s just me but I feel like life is so different these days that I am not even sure how to feel. Everyone seems to be going through a crisis of identity. Back when we were young, things used to be very simple. The days seemed to last longer and the nights seemed to be shorter. Everything was fun, and there was less to worry about. Back then, all we needed was a pair of slippers and the freedom to roam around the neighborhood and we were good. Now, we already have phones in our pockets, and yet it still feels like we're missing something.
Oh, to be young once more! How I remember those days, when the world seemed so big and you couldn't wait to get out there and explore it. Our thoughts were straightforward and our actions were always thoughtful. We weren’t ruled by money nor fame; our lives weren’t comprised of obligations nor deadlines. We didn’t buy stuff with the sole motive of impressing others, but instead we enjoyed the simplicity and comfort that seemed natural to us.
I remember when I was a kid, my parents couldn't keep me indoors. We had lots of time for fun and games. We didn't have any worries about things like money or our careers—all we needed to think about was what kind of game we wanted to play next! If the weather was nice, you could find me outside playing with friends on the street.
I can still remember the nights we had parties and grilled out, while listening to rock and roll on the karaoke. The neighborhood kids would gather round, anxious to hear what fantastic adventure would come next. We also used to stay up late and play hide-n-go seek in the darkness.
I didn't have as many problems, or as much stress during those days. I could sleep on any problem that came my way and wake up with a fresh perspective. Now, though… well, you know how it is. They just make me toss and turn all night until I can barely drag myself out of bed the next morning. No matter how hard I try, the problems keep piling up and the stress keeps growing.
I couldn't wait to grow up when I was younger. I was so certain that my life was going to be better once I turned 18, or 21, or 30. I wanted to be old enough to wear nice and clean shirts and go on dates and stay out past 9:00 PM. But, now that I am one, all I want to do is go back in time and reclaim my youth. If only we had an extra life or two stashed away somewhere! Good old days, how different life is now! I could barely get out of bed this morning—let alone get dressed or going outside with friends!
I'm not sure what's going on in the world right now that makes everything so difficult for us all. Maybe we're just looking at things through rose-colored glasses—is it possible that things were never this easy? But as I think about life, maybe there's something we can learn from our childhood selves, something we can apply to our current lives to help us feel a little more connected to those "good old days." Either way, it's still nice to imagine what it would be like if things were simpler again.
Even though we may not be able to go back in time and relive our youth, we can still reminisce and celebrate the good old days—and maybe even pick up some simple advice that will help us make better choices today!
Yes! We can’t deny the fact that it really feels good to look back while taking stock of the lessons of the past, but sometimes it feels even better to embrace our present and wait for what our future holds. Because when we live in the past, how can we appreciate the present?
Here is to hoping that we never forget how wonderful life was in the "good old days." It may be impossible to do, but it is sometimes worthwhile to travel back in time, if only to learn something new.

10 Signs You're Not Yet Ready To Get Married
Are you ready to get married? Do you feel like you're ready to make that kind of commitment?
Getting married is one of the major decisions we will ever make in our lives. You'll probably know why when you're in that situation. It can be the most beautiful relationship of one's life. However, it can also be one of the hardest relationships to maintain. Many don't realize they are not quite there until it's too late. Sometimes, it's hard to tell if someone is really right for you. Or if you are the right person for someone.
When attempting to prepare for the responsibilities of marriage, you can look for certain indicators that you are not yet ready. Here are some obvious, and not so obvious, signs that you might be too young or inexperienced to get married:
**You're being pressured.**
If you're feeling pressured to get married, you might be trying to fill a void in your life rather than finding a partner to marry. This isn't always a bad thing, but it's important to understand where these sentiments are coming from and what part they may be playing in your marriage decision. It's important to be honest with yourself about what your motivations are.
**You think marriage will solve all of your problems.**
Are you marrying this person because you love them and want to spend the rest of your life with them? Or are you marrying them because they already have a house and you think they'll make a good provider? Marriage is a great way to deepen your commitment and love for one another, but it won't fix any of the issues you have going on in your relationship. If you get married now, the same challenges will still be there. You are not yet ready if you are choosing your partner for the wrong reasons (like because he has a good job, not because you want to spend your life with him).
**You want to start a family right away.**
For many, the experience of raising children helps gives their life meaning and can bring families closer. However, there is no reason why you should feel the need to begin having children as soon as you get married. Marriage is a decision in which both partners are expected to fully commit themselves emotionally and financially. There's no rule that says you have to have kids the second you get married.
**You don't know how to listen and compromise.**
Learning how to listen and compromise is an essential part of any relationship, and marriage is no exception. If you're not yet ready for marriage, you may need some time before you feel comfortable compromising in order for both parties involved in the relationship can benefit from their partnership together.
**You've only been with your partner for a short time.**
If you haven't lived together or even spent much time with your partner and his/her family, it may be too soon to get married. It's important that you know what each other is like on a day-to-day basis before you take the plunge.
**You find it hard to keep promises.**
If you struggle with keeping promises or following through in general, it may not be the right time to tie the knot just yet. Committing yourself to someone means standing by them no matter what comes up—and that's a huge deal! Make sure you and your partner know how to trust each other and honor your commitments before getting married.
**You still live like you're in high school.**
If your habits involve staying up until four in the morning, only wearing sweatpants, and throwing crazy parties at your place all the time, then it's likely that you're not ready for marriage just yet!
**You're not yet financially stable.**
Sometimes it seems like people are getting engaged and married at younger and younger ages, and that's great! But, before you say "I do," make sure you're living an adult life—complete with adult finances. If you can't quite pay all your bills, save for retirement, and have a little fun money left over without going into debt every month, it might be time to put those marriage plans on hold until you can afford them—literally and figuratively.
**You're not yet emotionally stable.**
If you're still carrying baggage from a previous relationship, you may not be ready for marriage. It can be difficult to let go of the past, whether you've had a traumatic experience or just experienced a lot of loss. If you can't move beyond your past and are still holding on to those memories, it may be hard for you to open up and trust someone new enough to build a future with them. It's important that you move on from the past before getting married so that you can begin your new life with a clean slate.
**You're not yet mentally stable.**
If you haven't yet figured out who you are and what you want, getting into a relationship is hard enough. But getting into one with someone who hasn't yet figured out what they want from life makes it even tougher. If you haven't gotten to know yourself, consider spending more time on self-discovery before committing to marriage. Take some time to reflect on who you are and where you want to go from here before taking this huge step.
If you're feeling like you're ready for marriage, take another minute and look at these ten signs. They may just provide the clarity you need to help you decide whether or not this step is truly right for you -- and your partner. And if you are seriously considering marriage, then I applaud you for getting in touch with your emotions and thoughts. Marriage is supposed to be a great milestone in anyone's life, but it is important to be sure that it is the right decision.
Whether or not you get married tomorrow, there is always room for improvement and expansion in your relationship. To live happily ever after requires an ongoing commitment from both partners to continually work on improving their relationship. But if you really want to make something last forever, don't rush into marriage.
*Marry when you’re ready!*

Converging Hearts, Passing Souls: The Gift of Separation
Losing someone you love can be one of the most painful experiences a person will ever have to endure. To many, this is the ultimate pain we can experience in life. There is no greater loss than to have one’s heart broken by someone who has become an integral piece of their soul.
The intense feelings of sadness and grief you experience in the days and weeks that follow can destroy you from both the inside and the outside. Something that can be extremely difficult, especially if the last time you saw it was a long, intense goodbye and even more difficult if you know you'll never see it again.
You might feel like no one can really understand what it's like to be alone, but I know how it feels. I've been through many ups and downs in my life, and I've found that being able to find someone who can love me is what makes me happy. It doesn't matter if they're your best friend or a stranger on the street, if they make you feel special, then they're worth fighting for. A relationship can be a beautiful thing, and no matter what kind of one it is, there are some ways that it can leave its mark on us, even after it's over. I think that's because we're all looking for love, in a way, and anytime we find it, we want to hold onto it for as long as possible. But sometimes, for whatever reason, the relationship doesn't work out—and then we're left with the lingering feeling of loss.
When your heart gets broken into pieces, it is hard to come out of this situation. Maybe your relationship lasted for many years or just a few short months, but most of the time we are left with a lot of questions, and even more doubts, about ourselves and about the future. After the initial heartbreak, you find yourself looking at your phone, waiting for a text that never comes. You hear a song that reminds you of your ex and you remember all the laughs and tears you shared with each other. You see a picture of the two of you on social media and it brings back memories of what could have been.
To have an unsuccessful relationship is something that no man or woman wants to experience. Sometimes, we hurt each other because of our own selfishness. Sometimes we choose to walk out of the relationship and leave it all. But more often than not, hurting a person is one of the saddest mistakes we could ever do. When people around you just don't understand what it feels like, they might say things like "You'll find someone new" or "You're so young; there will be other boys/girls." And while these may be meant as words of comfort, they can actually make things feel worse. It's never fun when people just don't understand what you're going through.
It's hard to move on from someone you care about deeply, especially after going through a breakup. Some people are able to move on quickly—while others have a much harder time. It all depends on what works for you and how you heal. But one thing we can all agree on is that it's not easy. It can feel like no matter how much time passes, nothing will ever truly heal. It’s hard to move on from relationship breakup, and I don’t mean just physically. I’m talking about the time after you wake up, after the morning after you cried yourself to sleep; the moment of realizing that life isn’t going to wait for you, and neither are your friends. When it happens, sometimes it can feel as though there’s a giant weight on your chest — almost as if you can’t breathe. Perhaps someone broke up with you too fast; perhaps what was broken wasn’t just a heart, but yourself too. It's almost like your world has collapsed in on itself, leaving you wondering where to go and what to do next. It's hard to get over the memories, to let go of the person that meant so much to you, and to move on in your life*.*
I know how it feels to be stuck in the past, ripping yourself apart and it seems even the time won't heal but only make you older. I can truly say that I was once in your shoes. I know how you feel and there are times where it all comes back just for a moment. You can cry, scream or whatever you want to do but don't hang on to the past because it won't change anything.
You may have been through a lot of trials and tribulations that make you feel like there's no hope for you to find someone who will love you for who you are. But I'm here to tell you that there are many reasons to be hopeful. There are ways to help yourself, and asking for help from friends or family isn't a sign of weakness—it's a sign of strength! It is what it is and no matter what you do or how much time you spend grieving about the person you lost or crying about the relationship you had doesn't make the pain go away, but what does is moving on and being happy.
If ever you’ve experienced failure in a relationship and feels cheated, betrayed and hurt with your current situation just know that you are not alone. But if you're really struggling to let go, remember that this won't last forever. Worry not because no matter how many time you get rejected and abandoned by others, at least you still have all the time you need to be with yourself. Everything has a ray of hope!
Nobody said it would be simple to move on. But somebody said it is possible. I am here to tell you that the time will come when you don't feel that way anymore. When the memories aren't as painful. When you can look back at what you had and feel grateful that it happened, even if it wasn't meant to last forever. You will heal and move on and find a new love someday—but only when you are ready to do so. Everyone has failed before but being able to start again is part of being human.
Letting go can often be the hardest part of any relationship but do not worry. There are plenty of people out there who are willing to give their time and love just to help others feel better about themselves. Someday, you are going to meet someone who will make your heart skip a beat. You're going to reminisce about past experiences but know that everything happens for a reason.
I understand that you've always been strong. But even the strongest people needs a break sometimes. I may not know you personally but I know one thing for sure, if you believe in yourself, you can do anything. It doesn't matter if you are broken, we all are broken sometimes. If you're struggling right now, it's okay because in this very moment of your life is where you will learn your greatest lessons. What you need to do right now is to take some time to focus on yourself, by doing things that make you happy or spending time with people who care about you. Spend some time alone if that's what you need. Do whatever feels right to help you get through this tough time in your life—because everything passes eventually. Just keep doing what makes you happy and trust the process.
Most of all, remember that while love can be painful and heartbreaking, the end of a love relationship does not mean the end of your life. There is no such thing as the perfect person. Your life will go on; enjoy it. Cherish your own company. Pause to appreciate the beauty around you without having to wait around for someone else to notice it. And if you find yourself in love again, know that nothing goes perfectly forever—and that when things change again, they can change back just as easily someday. That’s how life works, and may well be the greatest lesson to learn from any ending relationship: time will heal. As time goes on, the pain gets less and less. You're going to fall in love again, but this time, it will be real love. **And that will be the wonderful gift!**

Nana and Dada: Those Important to Me
*Yesterday, we went to visit our grandparents in their house. Though it was a short visit, it was so nice to see them again. We miss them so much and wish we could visit in person more often.*
"How come you're telling me this?" you might think. Unfortunately, I am unable to give you a good answer for that. But then again, it's just my grandparents we're talking about here.
I had a dream about my grandparents while napping in the afternoon, and I don’t know why. Maybe I just missed them so much that they appeared in my dreams. I've been thinking about them a lot lately—how much time has passed since then? How old are they now? And because of that, I asked my parents whether we may pay them a visit, and happily, they agreed. This time, we made it almost a month without seeing them, which is the longest it's ever been. I think my parents were even more excited than I was about going to see them!
They live in another barangay so we don't get to see them as much as we'd like. We drove on Sunday morning after the mass and spent the whole day with them. We got all of their favorite food: fried chicken, barbecue, *pancit* and chocolate cake! For dessert, they had ice cream. It's my grandma's favorite; she always asks for it whenever we visit them. Before eating our lunch, my grandpa took us fishing at the river down the street from their house. We caught a lot of fish and they were delicious!
My grandparents have always been my all-time favorite people. They aren't rich, but they've still managed to do so much for us. They are so humble. They spend most of their free time in nature and they are still in love as they were when they were young. They do not have many demands or needs. Life is a much more basic and uncomplicated than it is for us at present. They live in the same house that my mother grew up in, but it has been modernized and renovated a bit to fit our times. It's amazing to think that they have lived there since my mom was just a little girl! When my parents scold me, I just run to them and I’m saved. They've helped me get out of a number of sticky situations.
But now, they are already getting older, and it's hard to see them that way. We try to help them around the house when we visit because we want to make their lives easier. We know that with age comes many difficulties. They still have all of the love and humor they’ve always had, but they can’t do things as easily as they used to. Their bodies are slowing down and they tire more quickly than they once did. It is really difficult for us when we watch our grandparents get older because we know that one day, we will be in their place too. It makes us think about our own mortality and what kind of legacy we will leave behind when it’s our time.
I remember when I was younger, I'd drive over to their house in the afternoon and we'd spend hours playing board games together. In the evenings, we would watch *Pinoy teleseryes*, and sometimes grandma would even sneak me biscuits after dinner when my mom wasn't looking. I remember playing with my cousins at their house. We would run around and around the couch; it was a great game that we played for hours. Oh, how I miss those times with.
But as I got older, things changed a little bit. I didn't have time to visit as much during the week because of school, but we always made time for each other on the weekends. One of my fondest memories with them is going to their house every Saturday morning, eating *chichirya* and *softdrinks* from my grandmother’s sari-*sari* *store* while watching movies together with my cousins. We would always call grandpa on his way home from work to tell him about our day and see if he could come home early so that he could join us for dinner. They would all reminisce about years gone by and laugh at some of the crazy things that happen when they’re still young. They would talk about when they first met each other and how they fell in love with one another over time. They would also talk about what it was like to raise my mom and her siblings. I still remember all the tales they told us when we were children. Although, I am an adult now, still their stories fascinate me a lot.
When I look at my life today, I feel like I haven’t done enough for my family or for others yet (I am still young). The older I get though, the more I realize that time is really short so we should use it wisely. It felt great to be back in their home. It’s a place where I can relax and feel comfortable in my own skin. I can tell that my grandparents love having us over as much as we enjoy visiting them since, with everyone's hectic schedules these days, we don't get opportunities like this very frequently.
***What about you? How long has it been since you spoke with your grandparents?***
If it has been a while, why not make an effort and see if they need any help or if there's something you can provide for them. It will surely bring joy to them! I'm not sure whether you've had this experience with your grandparents, but I believe it's about time to show them how much we love and care for them. We should do it before it’s too late!

Time to be Happy
It's International Happiness Day! And we all know what that means: it's time to put on your happy face.
What an amazing holiday. But what if you're feeling down right now?
If you're feeling down today, it might not just be because you’re doing so many requirements right now, or because you're stuck inside your office all day. It might also be because you're choosing to see the downsides of the situations you find yourself in. It might feel like happiness is just out of grasp at times. When we get into one of those ruts, it can be really hard to pull ourselves out, but I promise—it is possible. With all the stress of our daily lives, it's easy to forget that life is short and we should appreciate what we have.
Sometimes, negativity just feels easier. It might seem like you're helping yourself by focusing on your problems and complaining about them. But if you shift your mindset away from negativity and embrace the beauty of even the smallest moments, you'll be surprised at how much happier life can feel for you.
If you're feeling sad right now and you wish you could feel happy, don't worry—that's normal. Everyone feels sad sometimes. I've been there too and I understand that sometimes it's hard to just "snap out of it" and be happy. But if you're ready, and you want happiness, I feel you 100% and I want you to know that you can absolutely choose happiness today. And the good news is that there are a lot of things you can do to boost your mood. Some things might sound boring, but they work!
I know—it sounds a little goofy, but here's the thing: happiness is a choice. We've all heard the old adage. It tells us that happiness is something we can achieve—if we prioritize it. We don't have to wait for something amazing to happen to be happy—we can just choose to be happy right now. I'm here to remind you that you were wrong when you believed things like, "I can't be happy until I obtain that item I want," or "There is no way I can be happy right now." Happiness, you see, isn't something that just happens to you because of your circumstances; it's something you have to choose for yourself, no matter what happens. And by "choose," I don't mean that it has to be easy. In fact, it may be really challenging. But the choice is yours—and it starts with one small step. Instead of letting yourself get overwhelmed with all the things you'd need to do in order to experience full-blown happiness, start with just one thing. For example, maybe today is a good day for you to start letting go of an old grudge, or maybe today is the day that you finally call your mom back and let her know how much she means to you. I am aware of how challenging life may be. But I also know that choosing happiness is always an option—and it's a choice that will get easier and easier the more we make it.
Happiness is our most important asset. It is something that money can’t buy and something that we can have if we really decide to have it. We don't have to wait for things to change or for life to be "perfect" in order to be happy. In this world, we have many reasons to be happy.
So, to celebrate this day, I want you to take a step back and think about all the things in your life that make you happy. Today is the perfect day to make an active effort to choose happiness over sadness. Today is a day to celebrate the idea that happiness can be shared and measured, and that it's a global goal worth aiming for. We should take time to appreciate the good things in life and to do things that make us happy. We are the master of our own destiny. We have the ability to influence and control our own surroundings.
To all of you who are celebrating today, I want to say: thank you for spreading all the love. It's very contagious when you're happy. There are so many things that you could do to make yourself feel better. And once you've made yourself feel better, then maybe try doing something nice for someone else. You'll most likely help them feel better as well! Spread the positivity!
And to those who are struggling with depression or other mental illnesses, remember that it's okay if this day makes you sad because everyone has their own issues and battles they're dealing with. There's no rule that says you have to be happy all the time or even for just one day—but sometimes stepping back and taking time for yourself can be helpful, so don't feel bad if you need a day just for yourself. If today doesn't work out for whatever reason, then try again tomorrow or next week! Remember: It's important to take time and enjoy your life now before it's too late. Remember also that it's also important to take care of yourself while you're making this change. I believe in you and can't wait to see how amazing your life will be when you choose happiness!
***What are YOU going to do today to make yourself happy?***
Take a second right now—just one second—and choose happiness. Choose to remember what makes you happy. Choose to turn your frown upside down and let yourself smile. I believe in you, and International Happiness Day only comes around once a year!

The Sanctuary: Nurtured By The Earth
When you think of the hustle and bustle of life, it can be hard to picture a garden. To many, it may seem that gardening doesn’t fit into the 21st century. We are so divorced from nature, and we don't believe it matters. It's true: there are numerous instances when life appears to be accelerating. We are stressed, busy, and frequently feel as if we do not have time to stop and take a few deep breaths. But what if that's just what we needed?
On the face of it, gardening seems like an old fashioned hobby. But to those who've experienced it, gardening is far more than a hobby or weekend activity: it's one of the most profoundly healing activities you can do for your mind, body, and soul. Gardening can be a restorative experience—a way of connecting with nature and nurturing not just plants but your own inner spirit—and it might just be exactly what you need to get through these stressful times. Due to its multiple advantages, gardening remains one of the most popular hobbies in the world.
Gardening has been demonstrated to help people cope with stress and anxiety while also improving their mood. It improves your health and creates a haven of peace in the midst of all the chaos. When you step out of your house and into your garden, you're transported from the mad rush of life to a place where time slows down and everything feels peaceful. Think about it: When you garden, you're totally in the moment. You're focused on small tasks like watering and pruning, which means when you look up, your mind is clear, and your body feels at peace.
Gardening may even improve your physical health. It boosts your overall happiness and self-esteem. It also aids in the reduction of problems such as tension, anxiety, sadness, irritability, weariness, bewilderment, and aggression. Gardening may seem like hard work, but it has been shown to make people happier, healthier, and more relaxed—even when they don't get any actual gardening done.
Your garden is also an opportunity for your own personal growth. It provides you a sense of purpose. You might find that gardening improves your outlook on life. When we garden, we're not just feeding our bodies—we're feeding our souls. We're giving ourselves an opportunity to see life grow, change, evolve before our very eye and we get to be a part of that process. It's like getting a front row seat to one of life's greatest miracles.
Witnessing nature's perseverance at work is one of the most rewarding elements of gardening. When you spend time planting and caring for plants, you learn a lot about how much they need—and how much they give back. Research shows that gardening can promote stress relief by helping us get in touch with our senses while we connect with nature and the earth. This kind of sensory stimulation is known to reduce blood pressure, improve circulation, and increase energy levels. Simply being outside has been shown to enhance the immune system and lower stress hormones. Planting seedlings in the ground has even been found to alleviate depression.
Gardening can also be a fantastic bonding experience with family members or friends. When it comes to gardening, I've always thought of it as a hobby for the skilled and patient. I could never be bothered to grow my own plants, but my mother was a huge fan of gardening. My mother used to plant different types of flowers in our garden. She would be busy planting various kinds of plants and my siblings would be busy watering them. We had a small garden at home but she was able to fill it with her favorite plants. In fact, when we started gardening together, it was one of the first times we felt like we were really connecting as family. It was so incredible to be able to work on something together in an environment that was all about slowing down, enjoying the moment, and focusing on being present with one another.
Gardening is great since it doesn't require a lot of room or a green thumb to get started. There are plenty of easy-to-grow flowers that thrive in small spaces and with little maintenance. You can start by planting some marigolds in a window box, or even growing indoor herbs on your kitchen counter. So even if you don't have much space for a garden—or no space at all—you can still get all those benefits from a small potted plant on your windowsill or desk!
Think about all the things you might like to get away from during your day-to-day life: your hectic schedule, traffic, noise pollution (or even people pollution), the stress of social media. If you've been feeling overloaded lately or like you're in a constant state of chaos and stress, try adding a little balance to your life. What if you could have an oasis where none of these things exist; where the only thing you have to focus on is tending to the plants?
Yes, your garden does that for you. So go out there and grow some plants that will bring joy to your life!

World Sleep Day: Why It Matters
In the modern world, it’s easy to feel like a stranger in your own body. You sleep in a different room, you wake up at an ungodly hour to get on a bus or drive to work, and you spend hours each day staring at a screen.
I know it can sometimes be hard to get the sleep you need. We live in a society that makes us want to stay up late, spend all day on our phones and computers, then go to work and get stressed out. All of this makes it easy to lose track of the most important thing we do every day: sleep. I’m talking about the full eight hours, not that six hours we’ve been getting lately while we stare at our phone before bed. So I think right now, it's more important than ever to carve out a space for ourselves where we can just chill out and let our body do what it was made to do: rest.
Did you know that there's a day dedicated to celebrating the importance, beauty, and power of sleep?
Yes, you read it right because today is World Sleep Day!
World Sleep Day is all about bringing awareness to the importance of healthy sleep. It was started by members of the World Association of Sleep Medicine in 2008 and has been an annual event ever since. No one is a stranger to the concept of sleep; it's something that, as humans, we do every day. But how much do we really know about the science of sleep? While there aren't too many people who actively dislike sleep, most of us don't get enough, and we often don't understand why it's so important. I’m going to give you a basic rundown on what happens in our body when we sleep—and why getting regular rest is an essential component of leading a healthy life.
Our body uses the time we spend sleeping to heal both our mind and body, as well as recharge all its batteries. During the hours we spend asleep, our brain is still active—it helps form and consolidate memories, as well as sort through information. It also plays a role in repairing tissue and strengthening our immune system. Our body produces more human growth hormone during this time, which is essential for cell regeneration and growth. Sleep also plays a role in regulating your metabolism and weight by controlling hormones that regulate feelings of hunger or fullness.
And today’s World Sleep Day, I'd like to suggest you to take this opportunity to enjoy a good rest. Whether you're a strict 8-hours-a-night advocate or you tend to go by more of a "sleep when you're dead" policy, there are plenty of reasons to take some time off from the busyness of your life and just take a nap. Not only does it help you feel refreshed and ready to go after a long day, sleep also helps you process your emotions, consolidate memories, and boost your immune system—all things that can help make you healthier and happier in the long run.
If you're well-rested, your physical, mental, and emotional health will suffer less. Your performance in school or at work will improve. Your bonds will be stronger as a result. And you'll be able to think better and make decisions with a clear mind. Sleep is so important for a wide range of bodily functions and processes, like cell restoration and repair, immune system function, memory consolidation, metabolism regulation, appetite regulation… we could go on! But in short: if you want to be healthy—mentally, emotionally, physically—you need to get enough sleep. And that's true no matter who you are or what your schedule looks like. It doesn't matter if you're sick or healthy; getting the right amount of sleep is essential for living a healthy life.
The most important thing in life is rest. You can be the best at something—the fastest, the strongest, the smartest—but if you aren't well-rested, it doesn't matter. I don't care how much you know or what you've accomplished—if you're exhausted and sleep deprived, the world will go on without you. And guess what? It won't skip a beat.
To me, that's kind of a scary thought. But it also means that no matter where you are in life, no matter how much success or failure you've had, if you're able to prioritize rest above everything else and make sure your mind and body get enough time to rejuvenate every day… then there's nothing that can stop you.
On World Sleep Day, we're reminded that at the end of the day, all we really want is to curl up in a blanket and enjoy a good rest. It's not just about getting a full eight hours—it's about being cozy, taking time for yourself, and letting your body know you've earned some relaxation.
So today, we should take some time to honor the importance of sleep in our overall health, and to reflect on how we can improve our own sleeping habits.

Wish upon a Shooting Star
Have you ever wished upon a shooting star?
Shooting stars are meteors, which are pieces of space rocks that fall into Earth’s atmosphere and burn up in a flash of light. Although they can be as small as a grain of sand, they travel at incredible speeds (about 40,000 miles per hour). The friction they generate heats them up until they become incandescent making them glow in the night sky. This quick flash of light makes them look like shooting stars!
It's easy to dismiss wishing on a shooting star as a childish thing to do. But I'm wondering: when was the last time you sat in the grass and gazed at the stars? When was the last time you let your mind wander, not quite thinking of anything in particular, but just sort of drifting through thoughts? When was the last time you glanced up at the sky and thought to yourself, "Anything is possible?"
As we get older, it's now so easy to forget about that magical feeling. We spend our years being caught up in the chaos of life: making sure we are achieving all of our goals and staying on track to reach the next level. In our society, there are so many things vying for our attention—you know what I mean? So many things that can pull us away from being present and engaged with the universe around us.
I haven't wished upon a shooting star in a long time, and now I'm all grown up. My childhood is now behind me, and so are all those wishes. It became harder and harder for me to hold on to that sense of wonderment.
But then last night, I looked up at the stars again and saw that magical streak of light. For a moment, I was no longer just myself—I was part of something bigger: bold, bright, and bursting with possibility. All of those things I'd been chasing suddenly didn't seem so important anymore. In that moment, I became aware: there are bigger things than myself out there in the universe—and they're worth being a part of.
In that magical moment, I remembered everything when I was a kid, I would go out in the rooftop with my cousins at night and look up at the stars, feeling so small and insignificant in the universe. We loved watching them twinkle and listening to the silence of the night. The sky was so wide and open, like an ocean of sparkling water. It felt like anything could happen in that space. We would talk about what we wished for while looking up at the stars. It was our escape from reality; our own little world. In every chance we’ve got, we'd make an earnest wish. Sometimes it was for more money or better grades; sometimes it was for my school to cancel classes, or for my crush to realize that she'd love me forever. There's something so tender and pure about the act of peering up from the earth and hoping that some benevolent higher power will grant you a single wish. It's as if we're all children, wishing for things we don't even fully comprehend yet. And I think that's part of what makes it so magical: the fact that it is so innocent, even still.
I miss those days when everything was fun, and every moment felt special somehow. I wish I could have that feeling again; being lost in a dream world full of possibilities and wonder. I've found that my ability to be amazed waxes and wanes over time. But whenever I feel like I'm losing touch with my inner child, all I have to do is look up at the night sky—and watch an incredibly bright celestial body streak across the darkness—to reconnect with him again.
People don't really talk about wishing on shooting stars anymore, or wonder if they're real—they just accept them as one of those unexplainable things you encounter as a kid. There's no need to feel bad about those wishes not coming true—it wouldn't matter if you wished on real stars or rocks in the sky because it's not like there's some sort of cosmic genie up there making all your dreams come true. What we should be doing is working hard to make our dreams come true—and that means putting in the work to get what we want.
Wishing on a shooting star is more than just a cute thing to do—it's our way of connecting with something really important: the cosmic universe. The stars are our way of seeing beyond the chaos of everyday life—and beyond our own lives, too. That's why they're also known as "fixed stars," because they remind us that there are things that never change. Whether you're having trouble at work, struggling with your relationships, or just plain feeling like the world is against you right now, take a moment to connect with the stars. It'll help you find your footing again—and maybe even help you make your dream come true.
Funny thing about wishes though: They never go away. They often just hide in places we don't even know exist anymore. And sometimes it takes something as simple as a falling star to remind us how to find them again. Maybe we shouldn't lose hope in the things we can't explain as adults because they don't seem to make any sense. Maybe there are still unexplainable things in life that we can still believe in. Perhaps miracles may exist!
*So the next time you’ll see a shooting star, just remember that it’s okay if your wish doesn’t come true because you can make it happen yourself!*
Is It Possible That We Are the Only Beings in the Universe?
When you look up at the stars, what comes to your mind? Have you ever considered the possibility of life beyond Earth?
It would be impossible to even fathom how many times this question has been asked throughout the centuries: are we alone in the universe?
Why do we ask this question?
I think it's because deep down, we all know that, at any moment, our lives could be changed irrevocably. At any moment, an alien invasion could wipe out most of the human race. At any moment, a mysterious spacecraft could appear in the sky and change our lives forever.
Many believe that aliens do exist while the others think that they just have a wild imagination. But the truth is, nobody really knows. The universe is a big and mysterious place, so big in fact, scientists are still struggling to comprehend it.It is still unclear how or why it came to be. We are unable to even investigate our own world. But the larger the universe is, the more plausible it becomes that life might exist outside of planet Earth. There are other planets and stars in our galaxy alone (not to mention other galaxies).
People have been wondering about this for centuries, even before telescopes were invented. Since the dawn of time, civilizations have kept watch over the skies for other beings. Whether it be a religious calling or imaginative storytelling, there’s no denying that our drive to understand our existence goes beyond what we can perceive with the naked eye.
The thought of life outside earth is both terrifying and thrilling. Maybe there are horrifying aliens somewhere out there, just waiting to invade us. Maybe there are fantastic creatures eager to help us solve our greatest problems and live better lives. Maybe we're already being watched by forces beyond our control—maybe they've already taken over our minds and bodies and we're just unaware of it. The possibilities go on and on.
The idea of other life in the universe has probably crossed your mind at some point. As for me, I am quite certain that there is other life in the universe. I know it's a huge leap of faith to believe in things that you can't see but I've always been kind of fascinated with aliens, and the idea that there could be a form of life completely different from our own. When I was a kid, I loved to imagine what life on other planets would be like. The first time I saw the mysterious lights in the night sky, I thought they were aliens. I kept looking up at them for hours, trying to catch a glimpse of their spaceship. I guess I grew up on the classics: Star Wars and Star Trek. I frequently wonder if we're the only ones in the cosmos. I’ve always imagined that deep in the cold, dark reaches of the universe, just beyond our ability to see or even detect it, life may exist.
In the great vastness of space, there are probably thousands of alien species wandering around, each with their own cultures and ways of thinking. But what does this mean for us? Is there other sentient life out there? Are they watching us? Waiting for us to catch up with them? Or are we the advanced species in the universe?
The reason we keep asking these questions is because they're fundamentally important to our understanding of who we are and what we're doing here on earth. But they're also really hard to answer! Even now, as we get more and more information every day with robots exploring Mars or probes gathering data from distant planets, we still don't know exactly what's out there.
Are there really aliens?
There are so many parts of the universe that are still unexplored. We don't even understand exactly how large the universe is or what's at its edges. So unless we can explore beyond our own galaxy and find evidence of alien life, it seems unlikely that we'll get a definitive answer as to whether or not we're alone in the universe. This is an interesting question to ponder, because it shows how we see ourselves in the universe. We may not know what else exists in this vast universe, but we can be sure that it's much larger than any one human could ever comprehend.
So for now, all we can do is to speculate and dream. Maybe one day in the future, when humans explore the stars and find what lies beyond our wildest imaginations—that's when we'll really know. Only time will tell, but it would behoove us to be ready for anything.

Second Chances: Is love really sweeter the second time around?
Have you been in love before?
We're all yearning for love, whether it's romantic or platonic. Love is something that happens to us when we least expect it and something that most of us will never get tired of feeling. I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. Most of us want a soulmate: someone who will be there for us through thick and thin. Someone who will pick us up when we are down, give us space when we need it, and remind us of our self-worth when we forget it. But, what if your relationship with that someone didn’t worked out like you wanted it to be?
A few years ago, I met a girl. She knocked me off my feet—there was just something about her. She was very mysterious and unpredictable, but in a way that felt fresh and unexpected, not terrifying and chaotic like so many other people are these days. She made me feel alive—she made me feel safe and free. She was everything I'd ever wanted and more.
So we started dating, and things went well for a while. Sadly, we hit a rough patch. I made some mistakes—and she made some mistakes, too. We just couldn't seem to make it work anymore, but somehow neither of us wanted to let go. So we tried to fix things only to find that there was too much brokenness, too much hurt between us to ever be fixed again or so we thought.
For a while after that, we stayed friends—but at a distance, keeping our interactions minimal and non-committal, because we were both still so hurt by what had happened between us before. It took all the strength I had not to reach out to her, but somehow I held on when all I could think about was her. But to clear everything out, I don’t have any regrets about what happened. I know that everything happens for a reason.
I don't know where life will take us. Some of us have had it once, others twice or even more. We all can tell the stories about what happened, how we felt and why the relationships ended. You might think: "I'm never going to find the right person," or "I'm never going to get another chance at happiness." If you've ever felt the sting of rejection, then you know what it's like to feel like there's no second chance. But life changes, with each passing moment. Each day is a new beginning, isn't it? The old remains but to be polished. We all deserve second chances, because life is about living and learning. It's about exploring the future and finding hope for tomorrow. Love is like that too. It gives us courage to give another chance to someone in spite of our fear of being hurt again as we’ve been hurt before.
Just like what many people believe in, I also believe in second chances. I’ve experienced the heights of ecstasy and the depths of sorrow, so when I say love is sweeter the second time around, I don’t mean just any kind of love. I always gave people the benefit of the doubt and would hope that most people were inherently good.
But it's good to know that we can always try things again if we fail once. Still, the question remains: What if that second chance was with the person you were meant to be with all along? What if the reason you hadn't run into them yet was because they were busy getting ready to rock your world? Is it worth it? Can we reconcile and forgive those who caused us pain?
Many people say love is sweeter the second time around. Is it really true?
This principle applies not only to relationships between people but also to careers and other facets of life. Making a second attempt to find love may not be for everyone, but for those who have been there once before, love the second time around is more fulfilling and sweeter than any first-time experience.
The first time around, we learn from our mistakes and grow from that knowledge. We are able to take those lessons from our past relationships and apply them to a new relationship. We can use these experiences to become better people and better partners.
The second time around has so many advantages over the first. We will know exactly what we want out of the relationship, what the other person wants, and what the two of us want together as a couple. We will know if it's working or not by how we feel about each other. If all of these things line up then we have one great relationship!
Think about it: your worst breakups are often followed by better ones. Your most disappointing days are often followed by bright ones. It's true that the world doesn't always work this way, but if we look closely enough, there's almost always a light at the end of the tunnel—even if it's just a faint glimmer.
Many people never truly fall in love the first time. It is not that they did not find anyone to love, but perhaps they are afraid of being hurt or afraid of being rejected. But it is possible that things happen for a reason and a second chance in love is around the corner for them.
Do you believe in second chances?
You should. Second chances are not only for the person who is waiting for you to give them another chance, but it is also for yourself to try making things work again. Because when you come back from a breakup, your confidence has been boosted to 10/10, and your ability to spot red flags will become stronger. You're no longer going to give love away so easily—you're going to make your next partner work for it. And when they do, it's going to feel that much more special.
After all, everyone deserves a second chance.
Bringing two of the most important aspects of our lives together: Math and Science!
Who doesn’t like a good celebration? We live for THAT moment when we get to be a little bit silly and a little out of the ordinary. There’s something about it that lights us up inside. It's hard to believe it's already March 14! Time flies when you're having fun, am I right?
Well, today is not just any ordinary day. It's Pi Day (3/14)! And while that's pretty cool, it also happens to be Einstein's birthday (and we all know how much the world loves Einstein). If you're a math nerd, today is your day. And if you're a bit more science-minded, it's your day too! Today we celebrate math and science, and all the incredible things they allow us to do.
Every year, March 14th marks the celebration of a mathematical constant that has fascinated and eluded mathematicians for millennia: Pi (π). Pi Day was established in 1988 and became an official national holiday in 2009 in recognition of "the importance of mathematics and science education."
We've been celebrating pi for a long time—even before it was called "pi"—since ancient Egyptians used it to determine the area of circles over 2000 years ago. Modern physics relies heavily on pi. Pi is the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter, which has been calculated to more than 10 trillion digits past the decimal point (**3.14**1592653589793238462643383279502884197169399375105820… and so on). It's also known as an "irrational and transcendental number," which means that it can never be represented by two integers and it goes on forever and ever. 3/14 represents the first three digits of pi: **3.14**.
When we think about Pi Day, we think about the mathematical representation of a circle: its area, circumference, and diameter. But aside from that, we also think about how much more there is to life than just circles. So we're going to celebrate that too. We want to take this day to celebrate the amazing things you can do with circles—even if they aren't math-related. From roundabouts to doughnuts to marbles, circles are everywhere! And today is the day we get to celebrate them all.
That's a lot of math. But you know what? Math matters. Well, if math isn't really your thing, don't you worry because today is also the birthday of an icon: Albert Einstein. The guy who came up with all those crazy theories that changed our understanding of space and time was born on March 14, 1879. It's also worth noting that he was born in 1879, which makes today his 143rd birthday, which, when rearranged, will become, 3/14.
**Sadly, it's been over 60 years since his passing. So, in honor of this great man, we're going to take a look at some fun facts about him.**
1. Just because he spoke with a German accent doesn't mean he was actually from Germany. He was born in Ulm, Württemberg—now part of Germany—to parents who were non-practicing Jews. But his family moved around a lot when he was young, and he spent much of his childhood in Munich. He became a Swiss citizen when he was 15 years old and took up German citizenship again when he became an adult.
2. He loved sailing! His wife Elsa described him as "a lighthouse keeper" who would often take time off to sail along the coast of Caputh near his home in Berlin.
3. He was an avid violinist and played in chamber music groups throughout his life
4. Einstein wasn't always so smart. When he was a child, people thought his brain was too slow to ever learn anything. He didn't speak until he was almost four years old, and even then, he would only speak to say one or two words at a time. In fact, Einstein didn't start getting good grades until high school! But once he started to learn, there was no stopping him. It is likely that Einstein had dyslexia and ADHD—conditions that we now know make it much harder for students to learn quickly and pay attention in class.
5. He was notoriously messy and disorganized. With his wild hair, mustaches, and penchant for sticking out his tongue, he seems like the kind of guy who might have been a real character.
6. Einstein also had a sister named Maja who grew up to be his biographer. He said she was the only person he could talk about his research with.
7. Einstein married twice, but both marriages ended in divorce. He had two sons from his first marriage and two stepdaughters from his second marriage.
8. His brain was stolen after his death by Thomas Harvey, who did not give it back until 1978, when it was finally returned to his granddaughter.
The thing about Einstein is that his intelligence wasn't really about being able to do things faster or being able to solve problems other people couldn't solve. It was more about seeing the world differently from anyone else—like having an entirely different perspective on life—and then using this perspective to change everything we knew about physics and make huge contributions to math and science that still affect us today. But the irony isn't lost on us that Einstein wasn't a fan of memorizing this particular mathematical constantm, Pi. "It's true," says Einstein's great-granddaughter, Evelyn Einstein, "He thought it was too much effort to remember all those digits."
Math and Science are not just for kids. No matter how old you are, it's never too late to start learning more math and science skills. And let's face it: they make you really good at so many things in life. Math helps us make sense of the world. It's all around us. From the way our phones work to how much cake we need for a party, math is essential to understanding the past, present, and future. Meanwhile, Science helps us understand the world around us. How does an airplane fly? What makes plants grow? It helps us answer these questions and many more. The best part about these two fields is that they are constantly evolving and expanding.
I know that math can be hard and science can be intimidating. But I also know that our curiosity, creativity, and imagination are more than enough to get us through tough equations and complicated experiments. We just need to take a deep breath, roll up our sleeves, and get ready to play!
So on this beautiful day, let us celebrate math and science, the symbol of our collective potential as humans! Let's celebrate our ability to understand and be fascinated by impossible numbers and brilliant minds. Think about how far we've come in math and science since Einstein's birth, and imagine how much further we will go in the next hundred years. And maybe think about how we can apply that same energy to other parts of our lives—how can we use our ability to innovate in math and science to improve our society.

Seven Tips on How to Restore Your Sense of Balance in this Chaotic World
Our lives have been shattered by the constant daily news of critical events that are challenging our sense of security, peace and comfort. The more we are caught up with the depressing information that have been revealed in the media, the more difficult it is for us to be calm and positive. Every day, when we wake up, we're bombarded with depressing or anxiety-inducing news stories. It's like a mental assault that can make it difficult to feel safe or be present in our lives.
As we live through this tumultuous time, our energy level and mood may be affected. It can be tough to maintain stability and productivity in our lives. We can't ignore the fact that these events are happening because they are part of some underlying problems in our society. They indicate something needs to change: otherwise they will keep happening and will get worse.
That is why I always try to look at my life from a positive perspective. It is precisely for this reason that I would like to address the recent critical events that have shaken the lives of many people around the world. With all this going on out there, it can be tempting to just shut myself off from the world and turn off the news but what's happening around us is real and matters deeply. It doesn't make things better—in fact, it could make things worse. So how do we cope up? How can we remain sane while still being informed?
There are no easy answers when it comes to dealing with the difficult things going on in our country and around the world. But if you feel like your life is in a constant state of upheaval because of everything you've been seeing, hearing, and reading, this one's for you.
**Here are some simple tips that can help you restore your sense of balance:**
**1. Leave time each day to relax and unwind.**
Set aside 30 minutes or so just for you. Give yourself permission to escape from all the negativity and focus on something positive. Get out of your head because the more you sit and think about what's going on, the more you'll get drained of energy and motivation. Do something fun, or just relax—whatever works for you! Listen to music, or read a book-whatever helps you feel relaxed and calm.
**2. Get out into nature.**
It's scientifically proven that spending time in nature improves your mental health, so go for a walk in a park or even your backyard—anywhere that gives you some distance from what's going on around you will do the trick.
**3. Take care of your body.**
It may sound trite, but it's true: Taking care of yourself—your body, your mind, your soul—is the best way to prepare yourself for the day's onslaught of information (be it political intrigue or natural disasters). It's important to eat well, drink plenty of water, exercise regularly, and get enough sleep. Taking care of your physical health will help you feel better overall.
**4. Reach out to friends and family when you need support.**
Sometimes talking with a good friend can help us get through tough times. If you don't feel comfortable talking to friends or family about politics or world news, find a group that does feel safe for you to discuss those topics with—an online community, an interest group at work, etc.—and have those conversations there. There's nothing like learning from others.
**5. Focus on what you can control.**
It is easy to get lost in all of the negativity and hopelessness but we should remember that there is one thing that we can control and that is ourselves and how we react to situations. We may not be able to change other people's decisions but we can choose our own actions, thoughts and feelings. We can focus on what we can do to better our lives and how we can help make a change in this world in our own little ways.
**6. Take a break from social media/news/politics.**
The problem with social media nowadays is that it has become such an integral part of our lives, affecting us on a daily basis whether it be at work or at home. Social media has become so addictive that many people find themselves checking their phones multiple times throughout the day, which makes them lose focus on what they are doing.
**7. Stay informed without getting overwhelmed.**
Choose a trusted news source to minimize the amount of false information you're exposed to. Make sure it's not the only thing you're looking at, though—mix in other content with your news consumption to keep things balanced.
What we need to realize is that there are things in this world that are out of our control. We have bad people in our society and they will continue to do bad things to us even as we live our lives in good habits and positive efforts.
As individuals, we must try to find the balance. We need to find a way to let go of all negative things (news and other articles) we come across and replace them with positive things that can make us live happily. We need to understand more about the world we live in rather than worrying about what is happening and what is not happening. Unfortunately, there are bad events that have happened in our society, but from these bad events, we can learn how to treat others in the future better.
Read.cash: A Week Later
*Hello everyone!*
It’s been a week since I joined this platform, and the results are too good to be true! It's flown by! It just goes to show how much fun it is to hang out on Read.cash and I feel like sharing my experience here. No BS, just the facts.
First of all, my name is CJ. I’m 20 years old. I’m living here in the Philippines. I am a college student taking up Bachelor of Science in Accountancy.
It all started when my friends told me about this platform. Thanks to you brothers and sisters (you know yourself) who introduced me to this and also thanks to @read.cash for making this possible. I was pretty skeptical at first, but they were so convincing that I decided to give it a shot. The idea of earning money from writing didn't seem real to me—it seemed too good to be true. I thought that if I wrote anything, it would just get buried or ignored on the blockchain, and that's obviously not what happened to me!
My experience here has been great so far. It has been an exciting week and I don't see any reason why it won't stay that way! Not only have I earned some money through tips, but I've also learned how to use some new technologies. I'm also learning more about myself as a writer and how I can improve my writing. I was able to publish posts that felt meaningful to me, and people gave me constructive feedback and appreciated my work. It feels good to know that I can be myself here, so thanks for giving me the space to do that! This has been an amazing experience for me, and I hope it continues on this way for many more weeks to come!
I've also had the chance to meet new people, and that's mostly because of all the support that you guys have given me. It felt like there's this community of people who really want me to succeed here, even if I don't know them personally. People are so kind, and I feel like there is always someone willing to help if I need it.
I've read so many posts in the last few days, and had such a great time reading them. Not only did I have fun, but I also learned something from each of them. I was able to know something about you through the contents that you posted here-how you guys live your life, what are your interests, etc. Some of you made me laugh while reading your post. Some of you are so inspiring that I want to share my experiences with you too.
I've been reading up on what's going on, and I'm just so impressed with how much work everyone here is putting in. A lot of it is from people who share my own interests and hobbies like playing basketball, mobile games, cooking and travelling. It's like an adventure which is a lot more exciting than watching TV because I was actually there in your stories. Each content is different from the other. I was able to know something about you as a person and it feels good to connect with you through your writings. And that is already a good thing for me because it broadens my knowledge about the world and its people.
Writing content here is really easy because everything we need to write is inside us. All we need to do is think about our experiences and share them with others. Read.cash is so easy to use—the user interface is really clean and simple, which makes creating an article so effortless. This is definitely the place to be if you want to learn more about your career goals and be a part of a community that will help you achieve them. Halo-halo: The Ultimate Pinoy Summer Merienda
It is summer time, as I write this in the Philippines. I know—sometimes summer can feel like an assault on the senses, with all that heat, light, and noise. Here it is again, another heat wave in the country. But that also means, it's also halo-halo season. The heat has led me to reunite with my childhood favorite — halo-halo! YES! I know! What a scrumptious delight on a hot, summer day. A mix of ice shavings and various fruits, halo-halo is the perfect food to beat the summer heat. It is colorful, healthy, and one of the most popular desserts in the Philippines.
Still, while our country is being slowly suffocated by the sweltering sun, there are still ways to beat the heat and make it worth our while. From the most sophisticated restaurants to the simplest of neighborhoods, this delectable delight can be found everywhere.
My childhood memories of it are filled with reunions and fiestas, endless days of eating halo-halo with my cousins and playing patintero or tumbang preso. Even now, when I think back on those long, lazy days, I can still taste the sweet evaporated milk and leche flan filling my mouth and feel the gritty texture of sweet corn, sago pearls, nata de coco, and ube ice cream on my tongue.
Halo-halo is a classic Filipino treat that has recently become popular in the United States and all over Asia. The name is Tagalog for "mix-mix," referring to the intermingling of ingredients. This sweet treat is a favorite among Filipinos and is popularly sold in restaurants and street food stands around the country.
Making halo-halo is simple. First, you need a tall cup so that all of the ingredients can be shown through for an appetizing presentation. Add any combination of your favorite ingredients. Then layer in crushed ice and some evaporated milk. The ingredients include:
Sweetened beans (red mung bean, garbanzos)
Gelatin (kaong, nata de coco, gulaman, pearls)
Fruits (jackfruit, saba bananas, coconut)
Ube halaya or purple yam jam (Purple yam jam is made with boiled and mashed purple yam, coconut milk, sugar and butter)
Macapuno
Ice cream (ube flavored ice cream)
Topped with leche flan custard, cheese flakes and pinipig rice crisps.
Each ingredient contributes to the unique and distinct taste of halo-halo. The sweetened bananas are soft and gooey once mixed with the shaved ice, while leche flan provides a rich flavor to the dessert. The jelly adds a chewy texture to the halo-halo, making it an enjoyable eating experience for everyone. Halo-halo is not only delicious but also has lots of nutritional benefits. With all these ingredients piled on top of each other, it's hard not to take a bite at least once in your life.
However, the combination of ingredients varies from region to region and vendor to vendor; one or more of the ingredients listed above can be absent from any given recipe. You can make it at home with your own ingredients to create your own unique combination of flavors. It is the perfect cool-down for those long, steamy summer days!
In addition to being delicious, the dish reminds us of our heritage and our culture. It is a celebration of Filipino cuisine and everything that makes it so special. Every summer, Filipinos have a tradition of coming together in the afternoon to eat this special treat.
The tradition traces back to the pre-Hispanic period when indigenous tribes used ice blocks from the mountains as ingredients for their cold desserts. During the Spanish occupation of the Philippines, many Spanish dishes and desserts were introduced to the locals. This eventually led to Filipino versions of these Spanish delicacies, including halo-halo.
Halo-halo is not just a comfort food—it is a tradition. It has grown to be more than just a summer classic for Filipinos -- it is a reason to bond with family and friends and just a way of remembering where you came from. The word merienda literally means "snack time," and it's the time when friends gather to have a relaxing moment to themselves before they get back to the grind of their day.
Halo-halo may be a unique Filipino dessert, but it is truly delicious and exciting even for foreigners to try. Pinoys are proud of the different varieties of halo-halo, and should be since it is a generation of old tradition that brings everyone together on a hot afternoon.
What I love about eating halo-halo is the act of transforming it into something else - of devising a new way to experience something old and familiar. It becomes part of a new tradition. Each spoonful is like a piece in the pattern that you re-arrange each time you eat it. You arrange the pieces differently and make something new out of it, a Pinoy halo-halo for this moment and another one for the next.
Food was originally the main way we identified ourselves as a people. Wherever you are in the world, stories of your family and culture are most likely passed down through the food you eat. After all, it is hard to separate our identity from our culture; we are naturally identified with the food that we grow up eating.
In the coming years we can expect to see a rise in Filipino culture, as younger generations express their heritage through fashion and food. Special promotions featuring halo-halo are also likely to arise alongside this trend. If you aren't familiar with this dessert, take some time this summer to try it out. It is a healthier alternative to other frozen treats, and will give you a taste of Philippine heritage.
***Halo-halo is just one of the many delicious ways you can enjoy time with yourself this summer. I believe in taking a moment for yourself, whether it's in the middle of your day or after your day is done. You deserve it! So grab some halo-halo and go on a date with yourself or with your special someone today or maybe tomorrow!***
Good evening everyone! <3
Super Mario Day: The Little-known Holiday Honoring a Famous Video Game Character
The world's favorite plumber is turning 41 today, March 10!
Mario somehow doesn't need an introduction. The little guy has been saving the Mushroom Kingdom, rescuing princesses and taking down evil-doers for over 30 years in video games first introduced by Nintendo.
If you love Mario, the Italian plumber hero of Nintendo’s Super Mario Bros. videogame series, then today is a very special day. Why? It could also be that when March 10th – MAR10 – is abbreviated and written without a space between the month and date, it looks like the word "Mario." He's been a part of pop culture for more than three decades and shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon.
I know not everyone plays video games, but if you do, I think everyone has played Super Mario Bros. at least once in their lifetime. Today is Super Mario Day, which means it's the perfect time to take a break from adulting and play a little Mario. It's time to disconnect from the grind and reconnect with your inner child!
When was the last time you lost yourself in a world full with Goombas, Koopas, and Piranha Plants? When was the last time you felt that rush of excitement when you heard the Mario theme song start? When was the last time you had some quality time with the child you used to be?
Our lives have changed a lot since then—the clothes we wear, the music we listen to, and of course, the ways we spend our leisure time. But no matter how different things are now than they were then, there will always be times when you need to make time for a little nostalgia. And Mario is always a good choice for that.
Whether you're reminiscing about how your mom put up with you playing Super Mario Brothers while she made dinner or remembering those days on the playground when the only thing that mattered was who had the coolest lunchbox, this throwback is a classic that never gets tiring.
I get it—life is a grind. You spend your days working, doing chores, and taking care of other people. It feels like there's no reprieve—from the demands of work or family. You usually forget that there are other ways to feel fulfilled. You're busy. You're stressed. You've got a lot on your plate, and you're trying to balance it all and stay sane. It feels like it's been decades since you've had a chance to check in with the little human you used to be. And it is very hard to remember how fun it used to be when all you were responsible for was playing Super Mario Bros and trying not to pee your pants on the way home from school.
Sometimes all you have to do is take a step back and then do something fun. I know it's not the most serious holiday out there, but let's face it: we could all use a break from being grownups every once in a while. Super Mario Day is a time to gather with friends and loved ones and remember all the times you've spent playing as Mario, Luigi, Toad, or Princess Peach (or any of the other characters!) in the Super Mario series.
Super Mario has been here through it all. And today, it's not just about celebrating Super Mario anymore. It's about celebrating someone who represents so much of what we all love about life: creativity, fun, and an appreciation for the simple things. He brings us back to a time when video games were just beginning to show us what they could be, and he reminds us that true heroes really do come in all sizes. He's also served as inspiration for music, toys, clothes, and memes. He taught us so much about being a real human being—and making us realize that life can be beautiful even with mushrooms and turtles in it.
In honor of this day, take a moment for yourself to celebrate your creative spirit. I am very happy to celebrate this day alongside you, and I hope you'll join me in honoring the man who inspired us all to jump a little higher, run a little faster, and never stop trying until we get what we want in life!
So get your phone or video game system of choice out, grab a friend (or two), and spend some quality time jumping on mushrooms, hammering turtles, and trying to save Princess Peach from Bowser.
*What did you enjoy playing when you were younger? What still brings you joy?*
*Whatever it is that you like to do for fun, we hope you take the time to do it today! After all, there's nothing wrong with enjoying a little nostalgia from time to time.*
A Message to All the Dreamers Out There
*Do you ever feel like everything is going on a different rhythm compared to yours? Do you feel time is passing faster than it was before and maybe the things you have been wanting to do has not become realized until now?*
**I can tell you, it is not a choice. Every dream has its hardships and we cannot help ourselves but get used to it.**
Every day counts. And it's very regrettable that many of us don't really understand what it means. These are the days in our life where we can do the things that really matter towards the fulfillment of our goals and dreams in life. Every day we wake up, say how boring was yesterday and complain how bad was today without seeing how precious they actually were.
We all have dreams that we want to achieve. We see the potential in ourselves and feel the drive to make us think that nothing is impossible in this world. When we wake up in the morning, we try to do something new and different. During at night, we try to reflect on our actions and identify some things that needs to be changed. However, the combination of work, school and family leaves us with very little time to give to what we really desire to do. We often face insurmountable challenges that force us to decide between following our dreams and settling for something easier.
I've been through a time of uncertainty where I have struggled to find my step, it seemed that the beliefs that supported me at one time had become fragile and felt no more than a fantasy. I always thought that college was going to be a breeze. I would dream about it, thinking of all the fun things I would be able to do. Then I realized there were some serious challenges ahead of me, and I knew I had to face them head-on. There were ups and downs. There were tiring days and restless nights. Things went rough. It was a rollercoaster ride. I am always being pushed to the limit. In fact, it often feels like the universe is pushing back against me, like I can't make any progress no matter how hard I try. I have experienced a lot during this phase, but I decided to hold on, endure, not to give up and see how the current situation would progress. I know in my heart that this dream—this path—is more than just about me. And at that moment, by chance or luck, when everything just seemed to be completely out of control and without solutions in sight, a ray of light was shone on me as I found answers that would help me move forward in life.
This dream of mine is not only for me but for my siblings and parents, who are still depending on me for support because they believe in me, and they trust that I can achieve all these. It's for my future family—the family I want to give a life of comfort and security one day.
YES! Sometimes, all we need is inspiration for all the changes we are about to make, just to keep our dream on track. That is why every day is so precious and has to be used properly if we want to turn our dreams into reality. In fact, we need to be more efficient in the way we are doing. We cannot allow what we are already doing get lost among other things that make us lose our focus and forget our true mission in life. We have to find a balance between everything and focus on the things that really matter - never giving up, and always moving forward. Because if others can handle it, then so can we. They were people. Not superheroes or geniuses—just regular people who worked hard and didn't quit when things got tough.
I am lucky enough to have more reasons than challenges for pursuing my dream, but I know not everyone is so lucky. For them, I want to say this: You are valuable, you are loved, and you are worth it. Your dreams may seem too big or impossible right now, but that's just because you're still dreaming about them—you haven't made them real yet. Just put your head down and work hard. Keep your eyes focused on your goal, even if you can only see a little bit of it at a time.
***And when those challenges come up again, remember why you started in the first place, and then ask yourself: Why would I give up? Always remember that when there seems to be no way, God will always make a way.***
***Just keep fighting for your dreams!***

Women's Day: Celebrating the Beauty of Being a Woman
All over the world, women face harassment and violence. I am not going to list them all, but there's more than we can count—and plenty of them happen right there at their own home. To be a woman is to live in a society that reminds you every day that you could be devalued or assaulted because of your gender.
You may have already seen the Google Doodle – a special logo that appears on the search engine’s homepage to mark important and popular occasions. Today is International Women’s Day and it serves as an opportunity to celebrate women all over the world.
So today, we're celebrating women who are standing up for themselves and each other all over the world. We don't always show our appreciation for the amazing women in our lives as often as we should, so today I'm trying my hardest to change that. Because when the world seems like a crazy place, there's nothing more important than remembering that there are good people out there—and reminding them how much they mean to us.
Every day, women all over the world prove that they're capable of incredible things. In the face of bias, gender inequality, and cultural stereotypes that limit how women are "supposed to" be, they defy expectations and go above and beyond.
Happy International Women's Day, ladies!
*Today we are celebrating YOU, because you are all incredible.*
I am extremely proud to be part of a community that celebrates women as they really are: not just strong and independent, but also compassionate and kind. Women who care about their families, friends, communities, and the world around them are truly amazing—and I to send this message to all amazing women out there: Don't let any bias hold you back from being your best self. You do you—no matter what anyone else says. This is a message of admiration for you: every single one of you is amazing. Every single one of you deserves respect. Every single one of you has something incredible inside that we are lucky to experience in this world. We love your unique brand of strength and smarts, your kindness and courage. From the day you're born, you are strong. You are determined. You are beautiful. You are compassionate. And you are AMAZING.
I am so sorry if the society haven't always treated you as well as we should have; we apologize for our collective actions and for any actions taken by any individual man against you that have made you feel less than incredible in any way. We hope you know how much we respect everything about you and how much we believe in your potential—and more importantly, how much we believe in your present achievements!
I'm sorry the world pressures you into thinking you have to fit a certain mold—be one thing or another, and not both. I'm sorry people make assumptions about who you are just because of your gender. And I'm sorry the world tries to make you feel like you're worth less than everyone else. We should be able to do better for you. We should have been able to protect you from all the things that have happened—all the pain and fear and injustice that has come your way. But we failed, time and time again, because we're weak—and that's on us. We've got a lot of work to do, but I know we can do it if we keep listening to you, keep learning from you, and keep following your lead.
No one deserves to be treated like a lesser human being—and that includes YOU! We want to remind you that we see you, we hear you, and we appreciate everything that makes YOU uniquely YOU! You don't have to meet anyone's expectations of how a woman should look or act or think. You can be whomever and whatever YOU want to be.
I am also sending out a special message to the men out there: respect every woman you encounter, not just the women in your life. Treat her like someone's mother, sister, daughter, or friend. All of them, no matter who they are or where they're from. They deserve it just by being themselves!
I’ve never met a woman who isn’t an impressive human being, and I never will, because in my eyes, every single woman is a superhero. They are all brilliant and beautiful; they are blazing their own trail through the world. And with International Women’s Day this Thursday (March 8), I want us to take some time to say thank you to them all in our own small way.
It's so important for us to take this time to remember that there are so many women out there who are doing incredible things, and who deserve the chance to do even more. We can help by breaking the bias that holds women back from being valued for their skills and experience.
Our society needs to break the bias, to learn how to accept differences instead of being afraid of them. We can promote more women in all aspects of life, we need to show them we are able to do it. We all have a responsibility here and this can be the start with each one of us.
We hear a lot about the bad things that happen to women—we see the statistics and we see the news, and we watch it all happening around us. But I just want to take a moment to remind every women that there are good people out there, too—people who are ready to stand up for you, cheer for you, and support you in any way they can. People who believe in your strength and your courage—people who have seen it with their own eyes, or heard about it from someone else. People who think you're amazing just the way you are.
*Women. Without you, life would be nothing. So thank you for everything that you are. Thank you for every single effort that you make each day to improve the world around you. We love you so much.*
Time Machine: The Magic of Photographs
**If you could go back in time and relive any moment or alter any event, what would it be?**
In this fast-paced world, it's easy to get caught up in the rush of everyday life. The good times never last long enough. We all want to be able to go back in time to recapture the feeling of being young and beautiful, or relive an experience we haven't had since we were younger: adventures with friends, trips with our families.
My phone is running out of storage so I decided to scroll through my gallery so I can delete some photos. Then I stumbled upon these photographs where I am with a very special person who has since became a stranger. When I looked at these photographs, the world around me disappeared. I didn't hear the birds outside the window, and I didn't feel the heat coming from the sun. For a moment, everything was still. We were laughing, goofing around, taking selfies like we didn't have a care in the world.
It made me smile. It made me happy. But at the same time, I thought back to that day and felt a pang of sadness. And even though so much has changed since the day these photos were taken, the way I felt back then is still there, frozen on the screen, preserved for all time.
Then I realize that sometimes photographs are better than people. I don't know if this is true or not but someone once told me that a single picture is like a time machine that at one glance you will go back to the time when everything was so right and perfect.
All the years that have passed but these photographs are like little capsules of memories, forever halted in time. And no matter how much time passes or how much people change, they always remind me of what was important and special in my life at one point or another. It's like a magic carpet ride to the past.
There's something magical about photographs. A single photo preserves a precious memory. It captures a moment that seems to go on forever, even as life continues to move around it. It holds one tiny instant in history, and locks any number of other possibilities within its frames. It made me realize that photos don't just remind us of people; they remind us of an entire time in our lives. A single photo can hold memories that feel sad or happy or nostalgic or bittersweet—all at once. It is like a trust fund where you can keep your memories and whenever you feel down, you can always go back to that photo and remember how happy you were. And no matter what happens to the person in the photo, those memories are yours to keep and cherish forever.
And the best thing about photographs is that their meaning and purpose don't change even if the person in the photo does. Those memories won't fade with time, even if the people in them do.
Photographs are a way to preserve the past, to hold on to a moment in time, as frozen as it is fleeting. With a photograph, you can return to these moments as often as you'd like, reliving their joys or using them as teachable moments for your own future self. You can look at old photographs and travel back in time, seeing what your friends and family looked like at different parts of their lives. You can see places that no longer exist and you can also see yourself—how you've aged, what has changed about you, and what has stayed the same.
When a picture is worth more than a thousand words, that's because it's like a time machine! It can transport you back to the moment when everything was right in the world like the flashes of light from a camera's flashbulb lighting up the darkness of a single moment. It is a proof that something happened, when our brains can often make us doubt ourselves or question whether what we think happened actually did happen. They're as much a part of you as your own skin is. It's not just about the photo itself; it's about everything it represents and everything that happened in that moment. With photographs, we have tangible evidence of our lives and experiences, whether or not we choose to share them with others.
So I want you to take some time today to flip through some old photos, and try to remember how you felt back then: what was going on in your life, what was important to you, what was making you happy or sad. You might be surprised at how much that little bit of reflection can change your mood right now.
*And that is the magic of photographs and they can be yours forever—literally.*
A Story of a Mother’s Love
Long time ago, there was a blossoming lady who was smitten with her beauty by a gorgeous man. They fell in love and eventually got married. As a young couple, they started with a very simple life as they both belonged to a poor family. But despite of this status, their love, respect and trust to each other seemed to be authentic. They were blessed with fourteen children, 7 boys and 7 girls. Having a prolific family at that time was a trend considering that family planning hasn't been introduced yet to the populace. But to this couple, their children were the most wonderful gifts from God and they were thankful for this blessing. With a strong catholic faith, this couple has taught their children to become good followers of Christ and emphasized the significance of unity, brotherhood and generosity in the family and the neighborhood.
As years passed by, it was ineluctable for this family to encounter countless obstacles and challenges due to financial struggles and to the fact that they were raising a huge family. This couple had their source of income by making and selling salop, gantilla and tabakera. To augment their income, they had to do farming and borrowed their relative’s carabao to till the land.
Then the biggest challenge of their lives occurred when the father died at a young age of 57. The untimely demise of the pillar of the home made the life of this family even more difficult to deal with. The mother being left alone to shoulder the responsibility was indeed a formidable task to do. But this mother with the assistance of her children especially the eldest sisters never gave up fighting for the survival. Instead, this mother considered this test as a way of striving harder to keep her family intact and solid. She worked overnight finishing salop, gantilla and tabakera and delivered the finished products by walking several miles with the help of her children and proceeded to the farm after. She never showed to her family that life during those times was full of hardships, rather she had continually displayed positivity and resiliency. She was selfless and with unconditional love towards the family, her treasures. As much as possible, she wanted to please everyone the best she could and did not want to disappoint them. Her youngest child oftentimes asked to buy something for him whenever she went to the market but one time, she did not have enough money and instead of explaining that she had insufficient fund, she was able to pacify the youngest child of telling him that she was chased by a police officer with such a good drama and the child never complained anymore.
She was a mother who always made sure that there were food in the table for 14 children even if she would have only a portion. This extraordinary virtue of this mother is a rare find. But since there was a big family to feed, the older sisters were not able to prioritize their future until they forgot to marry although of course there have been suitors. These older sisters helped out the family in pursuing younger siblings’ dreams to finish their educations as they had no relatives to rely on. The younger siblings on the other hand, had to be working students and had to source out other sidelines to help pay off school’s obligations. Until these tremendous sacrifices of this family paid off. Younger siblings graduated from college and eventually landed stable jobs.
Moving forward, the mother had become a grandmother and a great grandmother. The clan had also produced architect, lawyer, engineers, CPAs, nurses, police officers and teachers. Success had gradually been reaping to this family and the mother stayed humble and selfless. She never had fancy clothes, pieces of jewelry or went out for shopping. She was always in the family trying to extend what she could give. Her grandchildren were her new favorites. To manifest this, she would secretly share her money to her grandchildren the money she received from her children. That would be her happiness. She was very loving, caring and welcoming to the family’s visitors. She was always the one who reminded her children to offer snacks and lunch to whoever came to their house and didn’t mind if her small carinderia would fall to bankruptcy.
During the last years of her life, she was awarded as the most outstanding mother/grandmother in their community. She was truly a definition of a strong willed woman with a purest heart. Her mission in this world was accomplished with flying colors. But her legacy will continue.
The father and mother in the story are my great grandparents. They are my roots and I’m extremely proud to be one their grandsons.
