Infinity Skies Weekly Castle Competition
Wednesday, 23rd of February 2022
Have you guys heard of Infinity Sky?
It's a new P2E game on Polygon network which is due to start later in 2022. Their Discord channel and Twitter are both very active, posting the updates and creating engagement with the community. The roadmap is not set in stone, it changed with the developement of the game, but here is the newest that I could find:
I have been eyeballing Infinity Skies since last year, when I first heard about it from @PVMihalache. If, like me, you also like adventure games, there are some good news for us. DEMO version has already been released and anyone interested can download it for free from Infinity Skies website. It allows potential players to have a sneaky peak into the build function of the game and admire the beautiful objects NFT's available. But there is MORE!
Win $ISKY while learning to play the game
All DEMO players are invited to join weekly castle competition in Infinity Skies Discord. So far we're in Week 6 of these competitions, with themes changing every week. Out of 6 weeks I have entered the competition 3 times:
Week 3 - Chinese New Year theme
Week 3 was the first time I entered the competition. My entry was rather basic, as I was still learning to use all the controls and I was running out of time. On my laptop I was not able to use all the functions, so I had to connect an external mouse to help me with it. Using the colourful carpets, I created this:
Lo and behold, my simple castle actually won a prize of 100 $ISKY. I think I was lucky to enter the competition when there was still not that many participants, so even my simple entry received a prize.
Week 4 - Tiny Island theme
In Week 4 I was already better prepared. The theme required to build a castle on 1 plot only. I thought about it and decided that if I only had little space on my Island, I would make it into... a dancefloor of course. You all know how much I love my dancing!
Despite spending more time and thought on my entry, that week turned out to be not so lucky for me and my little, luxurious dance hall didn't get a prize. More and more people started to join the competition, so my last minute entry didn't really get many votes.
Week 6 - Retro/Vintage Games theme
This week's competition is still on going. You can find and vote for my entry HERE.
Just bear in mind that this link will only work until 27/02/2022, when this weeks competition ends. At the end of each week the room for the competition is closed and there are additional 12 hours to vote. After this the winners are selected and this room disappears. Next week the new room is created for the entries with a new theme often selected by players by voting on Twitter.
Is it worth it to participate?
That of course depends on you, but I think you already know MY answer. I've been a gamer ever since I remember. Not exceptionally good one, but gamer nonetheless. My favourite games are building, strategy and real life simulations. I remember spending hours on end creating my house in The Sims when the game was first released.
When I discovered P2E games world last year, I was over the moon. Finally I can earn money while doing what I love - playing games! Getting my first scholarship at AxieBCH was incredible. Then reality hit me and I realised that it's not ALL games I love playing. Axie Infinity can be rather stressful and requires my brain to work at all times to win over the opponent. Of course I still play it, because being a part of AxieBCH is amazing overall, but what I really want from a game is lots of FUN and ideally a brain-dead activity which I can do after all day of using my brain for other purposes.
Infinity Skies promises exactly what I'm looking for in a game:
You can build your castle, where each object is an unique NFT that you can win or purchase on the market.
You have a portal which you can use to socialise with other players, visit their castles, participate in the feasts and vote on other players castles.
You can trade your NFTs on the marketplace.
You will also be able to go on adventures/quests, which are said to be separate games, making up for the whole metaverse with floating islands and castle built on them as the hub for players.
With that in mind, of course I want to take an opportunity to learn the game before its official release. Entering the competition gives me that opportunity.
Another perk of entering Weekly Castle Competition is receiving Architect tag in Infinity Skies Discord channel if your castle has won one of the prizes. With Architect tag you are able to vote for other castles participating in the competition.
How to take part in competition?
It's pretty straight forward to enter competition. You need to head over to Infinity Skies to download the DEMO and install it on your computer. Next, you check the announcements in their Discord to know the theme of this week's competition. You will find all the links at the beginning of this article. Then you let your imagination create a castle with the theme provided in announcements. Last, but not least you need to take a screenshot or a video of your entry and post it in the current week's group. Ideally write a few words or a whole description of your castle entry and the effect you were trying to achieve for your entry. Make sure to post a max of 2 pictures OR 1 video, or your entry will be disqualified!
Here are all the rules of the competition:
Let me know what you think - do you like the idea of this game? Would you like to read more articles about Infinity Skies? Will you participate in the competition?
Above all... HAVE FUN if you decide to participate. It is just a GAME 😉
Until next time 💙
...and you will also help the author collect more tips.
Heard about this when they had a huge giveaway few weeks back. I love the Sims game too and would always try to use the cheat to get more money, haha!
