S*xual Assault is not a joke! Yesterday, I stumbled on a piece of news about a s*xual assault that happened to a man. And it turns out that he is not the only victim. He is brave to speak up, I’m glad he did! This case should be investigated thoroughly, I am not sure if he is stating the truth or just for fame. But I don’t think he will ruin his name and career for this. Also, I somewhat agreed with the person who commented “*it’s better to believe in a lie, instead of supporting a potential rapist*”. This is not only happening to women! Men are also experiencing sexual assault. **Let’s not invalidate this traumatizing incident! This is not a joke!** Sadly, some are making fun of it and being insensitive to the point that they jokingly say, “*it’s okay you’re a man and nothing to lose*”, “*maybe he likes it too*” and many more nonsense comments. Why there are kinds of people like them? They are only good at laughing at others’ situations but not at sympathizing and supporting them. Tsk. Imagine you have a son, brother, or nephew and this happened to them or even to you, would you laugh too? Tsk. This is why most people who experience SA are afraid to speak up because of this scenario, getting laughed off, and so they are thinking no one will believe them. I have read a lot of confessions and stories that they experienced SA, and the worst is they tell it to the closest person they have but ended up being blamed and laughed off. Much worse, in some cases, the one who assaulted them is one of their trusted closest relatives or friends. The thought that they are the ones who will protect you is the ones who will do bad things to you. I may never experience SA but I know it is not easy to recover from this traumatic experience, it takes a lot of time. I just hope that they can fight and overcome it. As well as may have the courage to speak up and seek help. To whoever experienced this, put in your mind that it is not your fault, and it will never be. We should not laugh at someone’s situation, we will never know that someday we will end up in the same condition.

Assault to any one, any gender is not acceptable. It's not a laughing matter and should not be dismissed easily. You don't know the effect of that especially mentally until it's too late.

It's so sad about how some people make fun of sexual assaults. It annoys me. I have never been sexually assaulted before but I know people who do. It's a pain that they can never forget.
