Just had these delivered - local ripe yellow mangoes, evergreen avocados, and apple mangoes 😍 We call them evergreen avocados because they stay green even when ripe, while the other kinds turn from green (which is unripe) to purple once ripe. The taste does not vary though. But there are avocados with more sticky flesh. The type that has almost the consistency of glue, which I don’t like that much even though there isn’t much difference in how they taste. I prefer those with jucier flesh and not have that glue-like density 😊 Of course, it’s again the season of apple mangoes, and i just love them! I get them whenever I see them in the market. In this case, I saw these on FB and ordered right away. 4 huge ones, which is more than a kilo, is 140 in Philippine pesos. Not bad because it’s around 85/kilo, which is a bit cheaper than market price. The total with the delivery charge (which was cheap for only p20!) was just 367. This is good considering that I’ve saved a lot in terms of effort and gasoline 😅 Hope you all have a nice day!!! Now, I’ll be preparing one of those apple mangoes for snacks 😁

Had pasta negra for lunch today 🍝I’ve so wanted to try this for a while now but didn’t have the opportunity. Well, today was my lucky day 😅 Overall, the pasta was quite good. The black color is due to the squid ink, and I could taste its umami flavor in the dish. The umami was broken by the freshness of the tomatoes and peppers. But the sauce was cooked with too much oil for my taste, plus I hoped for more squid pieces. (it had so few… i guess I ate just two slices of squid, which was disappointing) Still, I enjoyed lunch as it was something different to my taste buds 😊 it’s nice to try new things from time to time 💕

Funny thing happened at the mall… i went to buy 2 milk teas for our snacks. When I was about to fall in line, I saw that it was my cousin who was ahead of me. I surprised him and asked him jokingly to buy me snacks too since he was on his break from his work at the bank which was in the mall too. My cousin laughed and said, “Sure! No problem.” So, I ended up with these two yummy drinks 🥤 😁😁 While waiting for our order, we chatted for a bit. It was nice to talk with family coz we don’t often see each other. It was a nice treat - both the drinks and the laughs - even if it was just for a little while. 😊❤️

This boi was feeling unwell last week because of an infection. An area on his right hind leg just began to swell, and the swelling spread until his entire right leg became swollen too. Once I noticed the swelling, I immediately took him to the vet even though he still seemed active. Actually, what i noticed first was a change in his appetite. Then the next day, I saw the swollen area. Anyway, it wasn’t until the third day that he stopped eating and was just always sleeping. He was already taking antibiotics and other meds for the swelling, but his lack of appetite worried me so much. Instead of waiting for his appetite to get back to normal, I took matters into my own hands and began to feed him using a syringe. I cooked porridge with some chicken as well and spoon-fed him. It was messy, but I didn’t care. I was more worried about him than by the mess. Thankfully, after a grueling week, he’s back to his usual active and naughty self, which I missed so much while he was sick. I’m again screaming his name because he gets into all sorts of trouble in the garden. Still, it’s a joy to have him around 💕🐶 We still don’t know what caused the swelling. He had a small wound, like a small circular area that seemed scratched. I keep thinking that maybe he was bitten by red ants or maybe a wasp? A centipede perhaps? But what would explain the infection and swelling that really spread to his lower right leg area? I’m very curious about this.🤔 Now, I’m just thankful that he’s back to his usual antics. 😁🐾

Super spicy noodles 🍜 we enjoy something spicy every now and then, and this one is one level up our usual spicy-meter 😅 I added some onion leaves and cabbage just so I could make it slightly healthier than normal 😂 also added some meat balls for a meatier meal 🥘 I hope you’re all having a good day. Weeds are beautiful too 💕 but i do hate uprooting them ‘coz it’s a tedious and sometimes painstaking job. Yet these tiny dots of yellow blooms are such a cheerful greeting whenever I go out each morning. They grow against all odds and sit pretty amid hardship. I could take lessons from this tiny, sunny-yellow flowers… right? 💛🌼 They’re like dots of sunshine that have settled on the ground 😊

I found this dead butterfly, and I couldn’t bring myself to just sweep it and throw it away. Why? Because it is just so beautiful. Even in death, it had not lost its beauty. To die beautiful or to find beauty in death is not so common. More often than not, fear often is the twin of death or dying. Perhaps I cannot fault myself if this is my mindset since death is just a deep chasm that cannot be fully understood; that leaves in its wake sorrow, depression, and so much change that we could not even begin to understand or shrug off no matter how much time passes by. Maybe there will come a moment in time when death does not only mean anguish. Maybe, just maybe, when we look at it we will realize that there is so much more there aside from sorrow and loss. 💕

#maki / #sushi selection ❤️ I love the different flavors here. Plus the leaf-shaped wasabi is kinda cute ☺️ What I enjoy most about eating these kinds of foods is that it’s such a joy to have different flavors come together in one bite. There the freshness of cucumber or mango bits, the taste of the sea coz of the nori wrap, the comforting flavor of rice, and the umami of bonito flakes, and many others. Eating this is an experience that fills my stomach 😁👌🍣🍱

#kimchi fried rice with veggies, scrambled eggs, and #lechon bits… lechon is pork slow-roasted in an open fire. You can buy it in small portions or you can order the whole pig for big celebrations. I also cooked #miso soup (one of my faves!) with #wakameseaweed and some pechay or #chinesecabbage 😊 Can’t wait to have lunch! Let’s eat 🍚❤️

Guess what I’m having for breakfast tomorrow…? #kimchi fried rice! 😊🍚 I love a good kimchi. When you add it to fried rice, it emits this garlicky, spicy, mouthwatering smell. Not only is it flavorful, but it’s a healthier alternative to hotdog or corned beef, for example. I also add some meat and scrambled eggs, and even some veggies, when I make fried rice. So, it’s a party in my mouth 🤣 This is my first time to try this brand though since I usually order kimchi from Korean stores/take out that sell the stuff. This one small pouch I got from the grocery earlier. I hope it tastes good and spicy 😁👍💕

#pizza makes me happy… 😊 why is it a junk food though? I mean it has everything - meat, veggies, fiber, carbohydrates - it’s a complete meal 😁 Kidding aside, pizza is one of my comfort foods. I am quite adventurous when it comes to flavor, byt my daughter only likes Hawaiian pizza. Yep. The one with pineapples. One of the most memorable pizzas I’ve had was the one we snacked on when we were in Tokyo Disneyland. It had the usual toppings but also included something that had the taste of salted egg, and I love salted eggs 😊 Happy Sunday everyone! ❤️

It’s been awhile, #noisecash 😊 have been quite busy with everything that I sort of haven’t had the time to visit. My resolution is to post a picture a day of things that make me happy. This pot of caladiums is a joy. I’ve just replanted it and placed it in this area where it’ll get a lot of morning sun. Just this morning though, my “very good boi” munched on some of the leaves, which led to a stern lecture. Kit-quat looked so sad that I couldn’t help but laugh. 💕🐾

Lanzones or lansones, as it’s locally known, is in season again. In English, it is called longkong, langsat, or dokong in Malay. Whatever it is called, it’s still one of my favorite fruits 😊💕 Legend says that the name “lansones” is from the Filipino word “lason” which means poison. Perhaps it’s because the seed is very bitter or because its skin could be burnt to drive mosquitoes away. When buying lansones, I prefer those that come from Mambajao in the province of Camiguin. The place is known to produce some of the sweetest mangoes and lansones. How do you know if it’s sweet? I usually trust the black ants 😂 if there are black ants in a lansones pile, then it’s probably sweet. Some are quite sour. So be careful when buying. Ask for antaste test. Most market vendors will allow you to do so. I like eating it while watching a movie, like one would with chips although the fruit is immensely a much better alternative. Just press or squeeze the top part of the fruit to open. Inside, succulent pieces are divided into sections, like what you’ll find inside a mangosteen. But be careful when eating it because it’s seeds are very, and I mean very, bitter. The peel also produces a white, glue-like fluid that stains the fingernails. I don’t mind the stains because I could eat 1 kilo of this in just one sitting. 😁💕

Dusk or twilight is that time of day that kinda makes me sad and hopeful at the same time - sad because another day is about to end; hopeful because of the promise of a new day. We still do not have electricity, but some areas already do. (Thankfully!) I do miss the illumination that artificial light provides, but it cannot compare to the beauty of a clear night sky. This night was a little cloudy. But there are nights when the sky is clear and we could see so many stars. Sometimes, we stay in the balcony while we try to identify constellations. We’ve seen Orion, lepus, and canis major (or was it minor?) I’ll post some photos tomorrow. ✨💫 These pics were taken using my husband’s iPhone 12 promax. I’m more of an android user, but I do envy the nighttime features of this particular iPhone. It is great for nighttime photography. 👍💕

Kit-Quat reminds me of a potato 😂 sometimes, a piglet 🐷😂 he is an adorable puppy. He had furuncolosis in the middle of the typhoon panic, and we had to go around the city and look for an open vet clinic. Thankfully, we found one and Kit-Quat was given antibiotics and anti-inflammatory meds. Furuncolosis is caused by small debris that gets trapped in between an animal’s paw. Once the area gets irritated, it causes swelling and lesions. The onset of the swelling, in our dog’s case, was quick. It was late in the afternoon when we noticed him limping a little bit because of a small swollen area in between his toes. The next day, the swelling was worse. So we went to find a vet. Thankfully, the boi is okay now. He is as naughty and as cute as ever. I appreciate my pets’ presence in my life because no matter how difficult things get, they make me feel more secure; and they do make me smile and laugh a lot. 💕😊

A yacht decommissioned by #TyphoonOdette It is quite disheartening to see scenes like this. Yesterday, while out doing important errands, I had to use the stairs as the mall’s elevators weren’t working yet because there is still no power supply. I saw a foreigner taking pictures of something from afar. I looked through the glass walls to see what it was, and it was this yacht. Yesterday was a sunny day; a beautiful day. But this yacht was a reminder of what happened last December. These days, we are coping. It’s a challenge, but we are thankful that we are healthy and that are home is still intact. I pray for those who’ve lost their homes and loved ones, as well as those who’ve lost businesses. May they recover soonest. May this new year bring hope and peace. 🙏💕

Woah! At long last, I could access #noisecash again. Our place was badly hit by typhoon #odette which left many without their homes and livelihoods. Some, sadly, also lost their loved ones because of it. A few days after the storm, everybody was queueing for drinking water, groceries, and gasoline. There was shortage, and it took very long for the local government to act and control the hoarding issue. Imagine lining up for gas at 3 in the morning only to find out that there’s no more once it’s your turn 12 hours later? Drinking water was so hard to find as well. It was a stroke of luck that we ordered just a day before the typhoon hit. We shared what we had with our relatives in need; same with the gas and other supplies, including food and solar-powered appliances. Almost everything essential for after-typhoon survival was “out of stock” including generators, solar lights and solar-powered fans too, and powerbanks. It’s been two weeks after the typhoon and we still do not have power (total blackout for the entire province), but the electric corps are doing their best. They can’t rush as accidents involving electricity do cost lives. Now, there are still very ling lines in banks and ATMs, as well as money transfer companies, like Western Union, Palawan, Cebuana, and M. Lhuillier. I am just thankfuk that we are okay. The typhoon was traumatizing… imagine having a coconut tree uprooted just right outside your window! The wind brought rain inside the house, and it seeped into the ceiling and through the glass windows. Thankfully, our house was not hit by any flying debris. It is still an ordeal. The past few days have been downcast, but today, the sun is out. Gosh! I miss cold drinks! The line for ice cubes is just… i fell in line for ice anfew days ago. After 2 hours, I gave up especially since the store couldn’t assure that there would be enough for all. Ahh… better days are coming. We’re praying for that. 🙏😔💕

Bonito flakes - my special request from my husband was to bring me home some of this. This is made from skipjack tuna or katsuobishi, which is smoked, fermented, dried, and made into these savory flakes. Bonito flakes are often used as topping for takoyaki, another fave dish of mine. 😉 For me, I sprinkle them on top of really hot rice. I love how each paper-thin flake curls up when heated with the rice. Then, I mix in some Kikoman light soy sauce, and eat it with a side of scrambled or sunny side egg. That’s a great meal for me already. 😊🍚 It’s really a simple meal, but bonito flakes are hard to come by in these here parts. 😁✌️ These are available in Japanese stores or groceries that carry international food items. You could buy a jar of these, but I recommend the pre-packed ones where each small pack is set for one use. That way, you could leave it in storage for a longer time without worrying about spoiling it. 😊💕

Kimbap/Gimbap is one of my favorite Korean dishes because it is filling and has varied textures - soft rice and scrambled egg and crunchy pickled radish or cucumber. I also love the seaweed wrap. When dry, it’s like paper. But once it gets moist, like when you use it as a wrap, it gets this slightly stretchy, chewy texture which I love. Plus the taste carries hints of the sea and with it comes fun-filled memories of trips to the beach during summer time. I’ve been craving for this for a while, but it’s not yet available before 10 in the morning. I now do my grocery shopping quite early and only seldom visit malls during later hours coz of people ans covid. But the other day, I had an errand so I went and dinishes quickly. I passed by the Korean restaurant inside the mall that sells gimbap, so I definitely ordered some. 😊 Gimbap is quite a filling dish, and you can eat it on the go. I want to make this at home, but I’ve yet to find some pickled radish in the grocery. (Maybe I’m just not looking enough?😁) Anyway, aside from this, I also love maki. But sushi, I’ve tried though I will still prefer maki or gimbap 😊💕

I don’t know much about tennis balls, but this, from #Dunlop, is definitely a winner in terms of durability against sharp teeth and jaw strength. 😁✌️ It’s been 4 days and the ball still holds its form ha-ha 😁 look at that big mouth of his! Kit-Quat is definitely enjoying his toys and even attempts to fit 2 tennis balls in his mouth, which looks hilarious because he couldn’t do it but still keeps on trying. Lesson learned from this naughty boi - try and try until you succeed 😂 I bought “tennis balls” from a pet shop and those didn’t last five minutes. I guess real tennis balls are truly much better though a bit more pricy. But my husband got these #Dunlop tennis balls from a second-hand shop, so they were quite cheap. 🐶👍

This lovely 18K necklace with a permanent jade pendant arrived today, after about 10 days in transit. I’m happy that I’ll be able to deliver this tomorrow since my client had been waiting patiently for it to arrive. But I do feel a tinge of envy because it’s so pretty and sparkly and I kinda want it for myself 😁✨ I’m actually more into earrings than necklaces, but I do love looking at jewelry that includes gemstones or semi-precious stones, and most especially diamonds. But I don’t normally wear any jewelry, even my wedding ring, because my skin gets irritated easily. I have atopic dermatitis, and even stress could aggravate my condition. So, when I do wear any type of jewelry for too long, my skin becomes itchy. That’s why whenever I wear anything, earrings or necklace or ring, I remove them before going to sleep. Still, shiny and pretty things are so nice to look at, right? 😍💖

It's been a couple of days since I last posted. Aside from being busy with my new dropship business venture, I had been feeling sick too - stomach upset and headache. Thankfully, I woke up feeling a lot better. I'd like to share some of the things I learned in having your own small business --- your relatives will be the first to doubt you; people who you don't know or who you haven't even spoken to in a while will be the first to trust you. Also, don't expect family, relatives, or friends to support you. The "closest" to you won't even press the "Like" or "Share" button to offer their support. Although, there are gems that are probably around you, and this is the time that you'll discover who really has your back. Don't be discouraged, however, even if success is challenging to reach. That's the beauty of it, I guess, those obstacles. Because in this journey, I've learned and have continued to learn a lot, not just about relationships, but also about being smart and well-informed. ***P. S. I took this photo yesterday while we were on the bridge. I stopped for a few minutes to let them run around and see the water. The weather has been wonky lately. See those gray clouds? Pasta carbonara is one of my favorites, especially the ones served hot and with fresh egg yolk. I was able to try that in Maldives. My co-nurses and I went to this restaurant in Male where they served this amazing carbonara. I know that raw food is not everyone's cup of tea. I'm also picky with the raw things that I eat, particularly when it comes to meat. Eggs are fairly safe as long as you know that these are fresh. Raw yolks or eggs are also often served with hot noodle soups in many parts of the world if you prefer it. Or you can have boiled eggs if that's what you like. For me, I only ever eat the yolk as long as it is served with something piping hot so that once you break it and mix it in the food, it's going to cook and give your food a creamier texture. Raw fish is also a popular dish in our province. The dish can be compared to a ceviche. But I only eat it if I know and trust the one who prepared it because you can get sick if you eat food, especially raw, which is not prepared properly and in the most sanitary manner. Sushi, I also like, as well as tuna tartare. But that's how far I'll go. Beef tartare is something that I am afraid to try, but I might change my mind if they use prime meat, such as kobe or wagyu, which I can't even afford. 😅 Oh, IU or Lee Ji-un, a South Korean singer-song writer-actress whom I happen to like also likes/loves beef tartare. 🥩🥓 #Food

I recently started a dropship business, so I've been quite busy the past few weeks. A huge challenge is finding trustworthy suppliers who also offer top quality items. Luckily, I believe I found them. One is a gold jewelry supplier and the other supplies diamond jewelry. 💍 I have a love-hate relationship with jewelry because I don't like to wear them (except for earrings), but then I love admiring their beauty and the intricacies of how they are made. I do have a few, like these flower earrings, which I inherited from my Mama. She loved jewelry too, and I remember spending hours with her as we looked through her stuff and she'd tell me each of their stories. Now that I'm doing this dropship business, it's rewarding in many ways. For one, I get to take a first look at what's new. Second, I get an adrenaline rush after a sale. It's satisfying to be able to earn still even while I'm home, taking care of my daughter and the fur babies too. Jewelry is not just accessories. Real gold and precious stones are investments that you wear. 💕🏵️💍 #Jewelry

Booooooo 👻👻👻 i found this "treasure" of a pic in my photo album, and it's a #throwback to pre-corona times. This may be the first and last time I post my face on here 😆😁 Anyway, i am kinda missing the Halloween brouhaha, but not more so than my daughter who likes to put on a costume and go trick-or-treating. We have that in malls where you would go around stores, and people would hand out candies and other stuff, like water bottles, hankies, etc. I also enjoyed DIY-ing my daughter's costumes. One time, she was Merida from Brave. She wore an emerald green, long-sleeved dress that I made from an adult's sweater top. I put some lace on the edges, and then we completed the look with this toy arrow set that we tied around her waist. I then curled her long, dark hair and --- voila! She was Merida for a day. I miss those things, so I'm thankful that their school is doing a cosplay virtual event on the second week of November. This time, she's going to be the red blood cell from Cells at Work. I get excited because I've never experienced this when I was a kid. 😁 Anyway, yesterday was All Souls Day and today is All Saints Day. I'm hoping that everyone has a memorable and spiritually-relaxing time. 💕 #Halloween

It looks pretty... But it's also pretty nasty. It ate all the leaves of my lovely and lush green spider caladium. From once bushy leaves, now all that's left are stalks. These caterpillars come in many colors too, which makes me think if their colors reflect the colors of the leaves that they eat? I've seen a caterpillar with similar markings but it was all green, varying shades of green. It had just eaten a pot of caladium that was mostly green. This one ate my green spider caladium whose leaves are predominantly pink/reddish-orange. Maybe that could be why this caterpillar also has a pretty color.🐛🌿 Oh well... I know my plant will grow more leaves again, but it'll take a while. Plus, this is the second pot. This caterpillar has two casualties already. So what I did was transfer it to the other side of the fence where it'll get its fill of food. But, from what I observed, caterpillars also have food preferences, much like the tiny grasshoppers in my yard too that have eaten all of my turtle vine plant but ignored my caladium and red ripple. As for these caterpillars, they seem to love caladiums. Snails, on the other hand, like to munch on my succulents but they also tend to ignore my caladiums. I guess my garden is their restaurant. 😁☺️ #LovelyAnimals

Bought this online - a mass-produced cake only available at huge warehouse stores (S&R). I wasn't expecting much and only ordered because of curiosity. I was quite surprised that after traveling and crossing the sea, it made it here intact. 😁👍 The cake is from Dough and Co, a dulce chocolate cream cake. Taste-wise, I don't get the dulce-cream taste, but the chocolate flavor is really good. Although the bottom part is a bit on the dry side, the upper portion was moist and yummy. The caramel (?) swirl on top was delicious and I wished there was more of it. All in all, it was a good deal. It tastes better than other more expensive cakes that are smothered with too much frosting that's overly sweet that it makes my throat hurt. Now, we're enjoying this as an after-breakfast dessert. It pairs with my coffee very well. ☕ 🍰 #Cakes

Took a pic of this cute spider catching the early morning sun while watching vehicles pass by. I was waiting for a delivery, and I'd like to think that he thought I needed some company 😁🕷️ This spider had a cool swag, if spiders were actually prone to "swag". But then again, I guess that's just my weird imagination. 😆 As I observed the traffic outside, it seemed as though all the cars were my life passing me by. "Oh, there goes my missed opportunity! Followed by my forgotten dreams and ambitions. " Well, it could be like that sometimes. I do feel like life passed me by. Life has forgotten me. The world continues on while I get through each day that generally goes the same as my yesterday. But then, I think changes do happen. Every day may feel the same. But when you look back in a month, a year, or even a week, you'll feel as though something has changed. Something has become different, and it isn't always a bad thing. 💕🙂 #Animalworld

Here's a throwback photo of one of the best ice desserts I've ever had. ☺️🍨 They were called "snowflakes" and aptly so since the crushed ice underneath the ice cream melted ever so wonderfully in the mouth. 🍧 This place was just right next to the beach, along with so many other food stalls, restaurants, as well as a McDonald's. The beach was popular with tourists, and these stores catered to them. It was bustling with so much activity, with tourists in their beach attire passing by every now and then. Sadly, when we passed by this area a few months after Covid hit, it looked like a ghost town. A lot of shops closed down, and I could only hope that they find their way back up soon. As for the dessert, I ordered a matcha-flavored one. My daughter had the chocolate and my aunt preferred the mango. We had such a fun time enjoying the food as we also talked for quite a while. This is what I like about get-togethers --- talking, laughing, reminiscing. I wish and pray that it wouldn't be long before we could enjoy such simple pleasures so freely and without fear again. 💕 #FoodCravings
