A Little Tour To Our Club1BCH Discord Server And A Big Surprise To All
I used to hate Discord. When I first joined in, I felt so lost. For me, Discord had these castle vibes that have hundreds of rooms in it, that any first-timer who would enter the place would be lost in just a few minutes. I wouldn't bother joining any Discord server if it wasn't because of our guild, AxieBCH. Thanks to them, I learned how to appreciate the app and even created our Club1BCH Discord server.
It all started on the 23rd of January when some of us from the Club1BCH were talking about setting up a separate group for Pegaxy and Axie players. As you might know, some of us from the club are either Pegaxy or Axie scholars. So the idea of setting up another group felt so good that many of us were making our own suggestions.
@emily2u had first suggested naming it as Club Pegaxy TG group while I suggested a few, such as Club PegAxie, Club1BCH Gamers, and NFT Gamers. Other suggestions include Club1BCH Guild, Club1BCH GamersClub, and Club1BCH Game Club. Then @PVMihalache suddenly asked, "...another one? We need Discord!"
For those who didn't know, Club1BCH has several groups in TG. We have Chatbox, a place where we all can chat, a private one for selected members, another group for giveaway/airdrop links, and 2 more. So creating a new group felt so unnecessary, and that's why he suggested that we need Discord instead.
Unlike Telegram, where you have to create a group per agenda, Discord can be a one-place for all. You can have a server and create multiple channels in it. On top of that, no matter how many channels there are in a Discord server, it will still be easier for you to track them down. Unlike in TG, if you join several groups, it will be harder for you to monitor the rest. This is what makes Discord special.
So when PVM recommended Discord again, I volunteered myself to create the server for our club. By the way, this isn't the first time that PVM suggested creating our Discord. Unfortunately, the majority of us, at that time, didn't like the idea since we find the app complicated. But since some of us have been using Discord for several months now, we realized that Discord is much more convenient to use than TG.
So on the 23rd of January, I created the Club1BCH Discord server with the help of Emily. Although I did all the setups, Emily was responsible for the content. She's a pro so I let her do the smart stuff.
Now, it's time for me to give you all a little tour of our Club1BCH Discord server, so you'll know what to expect when the right time comes. Our Discord server, by the way, has 8 categories: Information, Chatrooms, Links and Media, NFT Zone, Gallery, Gaming, Movie/Music Room, and Voice Channels.
Information - where you can find the rules, read the announcement, and the latest update of our Club1BCH Twitter posts.
Chatrooms - We have 5 channels for this category. We have a place for general chat, an exclusive channel, smartBCH-related stuff, suggestions, and finally, a separate one for Filipinos.
Links and Media - This is where you can share your links. It can be different links from your latest read.cash article, your entry for a Twitter giveaway, or airdrop links. Basically, it's all about links.
NFT Zone - This place is perfect for both NFT artists and collectors.
Gallery - If you like taking photos of everything, this place is great for you. We have a separate channel for each, so whether you like to take pictures of food, pets, places, or your selfies, we've got it all for you.
Gaming - Some of us from the club are now gamers. We have several channels in this category that you might like. For now, we only have 6, but I have a feeling that as time goes by, we will be adding more here.
Movie/Music Room - Here, you can share your favorite movie, the recent one you've watched, or we can all watch your movie together. Unfortunately, Netflix doesn't allow sharing screens but we can still watch together from other sites. We also have this Music Room, where you listen to music and share it with everyone who joins the channel.
Voice Channels - You can join the channel and interact with the other members through voice calls or meet them by sharing your screen with the rest. This is actually a fun way to know more of the people you only used to interact with within the comment sections of read and noise.
There you have it, a little tour to our Club1BCH Discord server. Now, here comes the big surprise. Are you ready for the surprise? If your answer is a big YES, then here it is! Our big surprise is... drum roll, please.
We will open the Club1BCH Discord server to the public very soon.
Yes, finally, we will no longer be exclusive for the members only. Soon, you, too, can join us for as long as you will follow our Server Rules. For now, there are 45 total members on our server, of which 34 of them are official club members. Actually, there are already almost 100 club members but some of them are not in Discord yet. Who knows, you will be the next Club1BCH member.
Closing thoughts
I'm very excited about the launch by the way. I believe that by opening the club to the public, a lot of opportunities will happen for everyone.
For instance, the Club1BCH Pegaxy owners can simply look for their new scholars within the server rather than looking somewhere else. It will also give you an opportunity to learn more about the latest stuff in crypto with our crypto masters like PVM himself or get a free NFT from our NFT artists. Just so you know, we have @ArtistByron in the club and a few more.
So be sure to stay tuned for the announcement and don't forget to create your Discord account if you haven't. Oh, lastly, please, don't forget to follow us on Twitter.
