Originally I wanted to talk about some of my old or new habits when I have read @Bjorn's Hard habit to break but I ended up talking about my old habit which was smoking. As of typing this, I instantly thought of my cousin who had a habit of smoking while drinking coffee first when he starts his day. That was before because I found out that he also quit a month after I did because of a bothersome cough as well. His a few years younger than I do so I was really happy when he told me that he had stopped smoking.
Talking about habits, what can you say are your habits? When one of my college friends used to sleep over at our place, we would just drink and smoke after dinner. That was also with my mom because like I have said that my mom and I used to bond over cigarettes after meals before. So when my friend would sleep over, she already knew that it was also a bonding with my mom. Then we would talk about drinking and smoking were not our habit but a hobby and we would laugh at it and my mom would knock my head. LOL.
If you have read Bjorn's article, aside from smoking, there was something similar that I and my friend from company B can relate to. It is not a habit of buying every souvenir in places that we've been to but rather bringing home some things that we liked from a restaurant. LOL. My friend even tagged me on a Facebook post together with my past flirtationship that I saw during my birthday.
Yes, I am guilty of bringing home things a few times during our drinking session because it caught our eyes and also as a souvenir from that night. I have only brought home a few items like glasses, ash trays and bill jacket. LOL. YES, a bill jacket. LOL. The one that is being given to us when we asked for the bill. When we had a general cleaning early this year, I saw that bill jacket. We only brought home one because the color was off white unlike the usual black bill jacket. It was my friend who really wanted that bill jacket but because it was my birthday's eve, she wanted me to take it home.
For the glasses, I think I was able to bring home 2 pretty glasses. It is not the usual high ball glass but a sexy fruit shake glass. The glass was thin and very fragile that is why I was really careful when I placed it on my bag before. The glass is still with me that I kept in our bar cabinet along with our other glasses. I am sorry to those restaurants for the missing 2 glasses. I know that it was a company's loss.
And then there was the ash tray. LOL. Because I am or I was a smoker, I wanted to take home the marketing ad ash trays and collect them all. For the ash trays, I know that it was given for free by the beer and cigarette companies to the restaurants. Sometimes I would just ask the managers/supervisors if I can take one home especially if we would drink in the store where we know a lot of staffs. LOL. At least it was not stealing right? My dad also has a habit of taking home a lot of table napkins or tissue paper when he is out drinking with friends before. He was able to gather a small paper bag of tissue papers. LOL. When I was young, he would also bring home those toothpick dispensers and when he had collected a dozen of it, it was the toothpicks that he would take home. LOL. I am just glad that he does not take home any thing now other than some take out foods. LOL.
When I read my friend's shared post where she tagged me and my past flirtationship, one of the managers that we have worked with commented that he takes home the girls that he drinks with. LOL. I laughed at it so hard that I even said that he was the winner out of all the comments. LOL. That is actually the sad reality in some drinking sessions. In my early 20s, I was already aware of those kind of situations. Those drinking sessions that lead to unexpected pregnancies and worst getting infected of the disease.
Anyhow, going back to habits, of course I also have good habits and that is praying after waking up and before going to sleep. And now, I am practicing to make praying the rosary a part of my daily habit again as well as reading the bible. I hope that I will be able to maintain these habits even if I would have a job anytime in the future. But with taking home some items from restaurants that I find pretty, I do not want to do it anymore especially after I have heard from my brother that it is really scary once a company or any establishment caught you stealing. He told me that there were some cases in their office who were caught stealing inside the mall and the said mall really does want all of them to be behind bars. Scary. So do not be like the old me. Let us continue to do good habits from now on.
P.S. I used the same lead image that I used in my previous article.
Drinking coffee had been a habit of mine that is hard to break. It doesn't matter if it is hot or cold, I always manage to drink hot coffee.
I remember a coworker of mine brought home the sign for a male's toilet. I don't know how he did it but he managed to rip that off the door.
