New home, New adjustments
As of this day at exactly 3:30 in the morning, I finally published my lead image. I planned to write this one 4 days ago but I can't upload any photos. It was too slow and I couldn't find it in this place either. Before we used a wifi vendo in our previous home, but today, in this new place, we used data, which is for me a problem because I don't have enough load these few days. This is just one of our adjustments in this new place.
Our home
This house where we live today was built 35 years ago, by the missionaries who established the company where my husband worked. Yes, it's an old one, made of wood, but it's already fixed by the carpenters a few weeks ago before we transferred.
Even if it's an old house, I still like it because it has water and electricity which is the most important thing. At first, I was a little bit scared to be here, because you know some of my friends here say it looks haunted. But, expectations are not the reality this time, it's very quiet here. Because of the age of the house, it was made a long time ago, there are some broken windows, and we fixed it, but it was properly made,an old style Filipino house, and has two rooms on one side, kitchen and the bathroom.
The environment
The surroundings are very calm, we can see lots of birds everyday, just like yesterday, before it rained, there were birds who appeared near our house. There are trees around the house, and a goats barn, where my husband was a caretaker. It's a place where we can enjoy the fresh air, and fresh fruits, like rambutan, mangosteen, durian, lanzones, and many more, but of course we need to pay for it before we eat, because it's owned by the company. This place is free from noise pollution, I can't hear the neighborhood playing loud music, they are too quiet, they always stay Inside their houses. So far, I didn't see any women who gathered on the roadside and had a chit-chat, mostly, they were inside their home or working. Most people who live here are very private, which is 100% opposite in my place(barangay), that everyone knows about anyone, where people are laughing on the roadside having a glass of tuba in the grocery store. In short, this place is "Marites free(gossip free) , hehe for now, that's what I observed, I don't know later 😅.
The kids adjustment
There are a lot of adjustments for my kids here, first of all, there are no internet shops where they can play their online games, they have no new friends already, because they don't like to go out, they feel shy with other kids here.
Second, the grocery store is a walking distance from the house we live in. So, they can't buy any junk food right away, which is good for me, but not for them, they are actually complaining.
But, they have a very wide playground here, basketball court and other views uphill. They are still on the observation stage, in this new environment.
How is my first week?
It's been a challenging time staying here these few days, because my son has had a fever since Thursday. I can't sleep properly too because I'm watching him overnight. And, the weather here is too cold each night and there are fog in the morning. I've got the flu too. Maybe my body is in an adjustment period to cope with the weather. I didn't bring a lot of blankets, and curtains, so those are the things that I need to buy this month. I feel relieved now, because my son was fine, his fever was gone last night.
What do I look forward this time that we have transfered a new home?
I was hoping to live peacefully, and become mature with our relationship as a married people. And to spend more time together, despite of a busy day. I hope too that I can have work here in the company, but that was not yet sure, but I'm looking forward to it, at the right time.
End Notes:
Transferring a new place is like taking a risk, our stay here in this house wasn't sure how long will last, maybe one, two years or more. But for now, I'm just happy that we can live here for free, and we will just grab this privilege that is given by the company.
We're like writing a new story of our life, we can't foresee the coming days and happenings, this is just a preface of the the whole book content. Everyday, we write our own story, and of course, like a story, there's a plot, and character, a problem, and realization the end. We don't know yet what we are going o face in the future, we just keep on believing that everything will be fine at the end of the day.
This is an update of my life recently, and I'm grateful that your reading it.
How I wish to post some photos here but my place has a very poor signal.
Adjustments can be hard and might take a long time.. sana kakayanin lalo na ng mga bata..
