Good Pride, Bad Pride

I too thought pride was fully bad, like outrightly wrong, if you have pride then you're on your way to doom, not until I took a critical look at it and observed it clearer to see that pride also has its goof as well as its bad. A king would always advice is son on how to pride in his title, God wants us to pride in him, we too need to have pride in what we have done to boost our confidence, there are a lot of angles we can drive through to expand om the usefulness of pride as well as why it's bad. Good thing remain that its workable, meaning that we can work on that aspect of pride showing but only if we intend to really stop.

Bad pride

Where do I start from, the good or the bad, as for me I prefer to start with the bad and get it done with so the good can come in and gladden my heart. So I'll start from the bad. Why is there a stereotype that all prides are bad. Imagine telling some one, hey you have pride and they feel bad. Then what is that reason why they would feel bad on hearing that they have pride.

Firstly a person who is told he has pride firstly thinks he's self centred and always prefer himself or herself before anyone else. To an extent you expect everyone to place you first before any other, this is often an issue for people around you. Although we know there is nothing as an equal ground, yet it would be bad to make it pronounced that you feel better than everyone else. Issues with this however is the doer who feels its a mere self appreciation and good confidence booster to help them go further and forward.

The crazy thing about this pride is that its perceived different ways by different people. You may have different people watching you and they all see different view to judging your actions. For instance at a function and a speaker stands up to address the crowd and begins to list his degrees all his title, his doctorate degree, his bachelor's degree, his PhD and the crowd begins to cheer him. Some people may say what is the need and its is a clear show of pride, others may say its said as a motivatuon to all who are around and would prompt the younger generation work harder.

Bad pride causes us to underestimate people and look down on them, some tines to the extent of oppressing them. Not seeing people as equals, when you hear people say, "do you know who I am", "I would deal with you" "I would lock you up" this amongst other woulds you must have heard people tell others, when in reality our positions are opportunities from God, and it shouldn't be use for oppression and other selfish desires. In fact this reason is one of the main reason why it's not advisable to possess pride, cause many have turned it into opportunities to get back at people or be a reason of anger or bitterness to innocent people.

Pride can also be subjective and objective, in a sense that we can pride in someone or something that would make it all bad. Imagine having so much pride in bad acts like thuggery, alcoholism, stealing, you hail yourself in it not ready to change it at all, this is bad and would soon lead to you committing the act sooner. Also having pride in bad people can make us bad ourselves.

Good Pride

Oh yes, I said this much earlier on this article, good pride also exist, the main purpose of this type isn't to make any one feel bad, truthfully it doesn't concern anyone that much, its just centered about self confidence, cause we self confidence we can do that which we have been afriad to do. Imagine what that means, it means that we would be able to face our fears and be the best version of ourselves. Everyone needs a great level of self confidence in order to take up challenges, especially challenges which would lead to a positive change in our lives.

Good pride has boost our self esteem and no one would override us anymore. It doesn't entails looking down on anyone, it just needs to know and go with nothing holding us down or making us feel bad or sad. Good pride also has its benefits especially when we have pride in God. God wants us to have pride in him and via that confidence we can do signs and wonders.

Similarly we can pride in our country and collectively make it an envy to the rest nations, pride in your parents, show them off take care of them, pride in your job it'll make you learn and want to do more. There are many things we can pride it that can be considered good pride.

Pride indeed goes two ways, but having different approaches and different attitudes. Good pride is essential in the right quantity, bad pride should be eradicated from the mind via a switch in mindset to be preferability of a good pride over the bad.
