I got this metaphorical poetry prompt; "Smile is that gift". I used this prompt to write a poem in the picture below on the 20th of December, 2020. Seeing this poem today made me write this article.
Has anything remarkable happened to you today? Have you noticed anything well defined? Have you noticed events that stand out in your mind as obvious? What do you feel right now? Do you feel like you are living life to the fullest? No, your answer to all these questions is probably a "No".
However, I will ask you one more question. Have you smiled today? It's a personal question. You might think what has smiling got anything to do with living life to the fullest. But, the fact around it is that smiling is the key to living life to fullest.
Life is a precious gift bestowed upon us by nature. We should live it through utmost care and caution so as to enjoy it. Trials and tribulations are bound to come our way, and that why nature gave us the ability to smile to relieve us from the pressure within and out.
Smile is a gift bestowed upon us by nature to bring happiness to the world. It is a gesture of love and compassion to those around us and especially to the one sharing it.
The real power of a smile is how infectious it can be. It’s the energy you feel when someone inspires you or when something good happens, like an unexpected get-together with friends or when you win a game.
And when you smile, remember that life is always there for you to inspire, delight and surprise you. Allow yourself to shine and share those moments with everyone around you because those moments are the ones worth smiling about.
Be inspired to follow your path and create your own unique way of living there is always something worth smiling about. Because our stories are what make us unique and yours is what makes you special.
A gift that can't be wrapped in a box
Smile is a gift that is always open, expressed mainly through the face, when a face is filled joy and happiness and our lips can't hide those shining teeth of yours from coming out.😁
Like I said earlier smile is contagious, when you are around someone who is smiling you can't help but do the same.
Some fake it.
A lot of people put on fake smile so that they can appear to be happy to people outside, faking a smile might help bring a little comfort but it can never be compared to a real one of pure happiness. For fake smile wanes away quickly.
People are passing through a lot in life, some are really suffering and yet still smiling, because they want to look perfect and fine. This is common with many celebrities many are going through depression, marriage problems or health issues. Yet they smile to the camera.
No reason to smile
Like I wrote in my poem that on the faces of millions of people on earth today, there is one thing that is missing and that is smile!
We live in a world filled with a lot injustice, corruption, discrimination, a lot of people live in abject poverty.
Some countries are experiencing war and its population are fleeing their home, loved ones are getting separated. Indeed if one look at all of these there might be no reason to smile because there is nothing to be happy or proud of.
But I have seen people going through all these hardships with a smile on their faces, they know somethings are beyond their control. Yet they smile and a smile like such comes in many forms.
Some are smile of optimism, some are smile of remembrance of the happy days. Whatever it is, it shows they haven't given up yet.
_________The End_______
Thank you for reading, remember to put a smile on your face; and you can do that by making other people smile.
Happy first Sunday in the month of April, and happy new week too.
Smile is contagious. When you smile, you infect others with it. It's also a medicine.
Nice poem💖
