Good evening wonderful people. How was your day? It was raining the whole day here in my place. And the red alert from NDRRMC keep on beeping my phone.
Have you received it too?
Thanks to my lovely sponsors, who are very much supportive on my journey. I appreciate you all.
You can check them they are very good writers as well. You can learn something from them too.
Yesterday evening the rain already started falling but it's not that hard though. But as I wake up this morning the rain was non-stop and so hard. By the sound of it I already knew it will flood soon. While the people are so busy in the kitchen I check them out what they are doing and mom ask me to cooked breakfast for us cause she will handle something before the flood will come.
We are living near the river and our house is beside of an irrigation for the rice field. There are water on it but it's not yet flowing out from it. When the rain stop, the water suddenly rises. I was not done cooking when the water get in the house. The people are so busy going back and forth. The flood is everywhere. The rice field is like a wide river and I can't see any rice anymore. And when I see the flood and what is coming, I was jumping with joy and keep on shouting calling the others.
Is there any person become so much happy that made them jump and shout when seeing a flood?
Yes, there is. And that's me. Why?
What makes me so happy seeing the flood?
Yes, you see it right. This are the ones that makes me happy. It's because there's a lot of them floating in the flood. And I see them going to our direction, swimming across the irrigation. I called mom and my sister to help me get them. How?
You see that bridge over there? We just wait the coconut to pass by and we get them one by one and throw it in the side. We are all happy seeing a lot of them passing. We get so wet upon doing so yet the cold did not bother us anyways. Instead of praying for the flood to stop, we pray that we could find more of this.
It's just mom, me and my other sister in that side of the irrigation while my brother and father was in the river. We could see them busy chasing some coconut in the flood as well. No worries, the water was not that big yet. Plus, we are used with floods since we experienced flooding since before. It's not new to us and we even experience so much than that. Other reason it that, it's day time so we could see whatever happenings around us.
We keep on collecting coconuts for half an hour I guess before the flood stop and the water in the irrigation drained. We are so happy that we gather some blessings from the storm that even if we have quite difficulty about it and give small worries as well but the joy of seeing the collected coconut was more than enough to ease the coldness that we feel.
The typhoon brought us strong rain thus making the river flows and it's all over us. But it not just it, it brought blessings to us as well. God knows we are struggling financial aspects to support daily needs that he did not forget to showered us blessing through the storm. We did collect almost 300 coconut in total and we sell them. I did not ask papa how much we earn but I am sure it's enough to cover our expences for the next few days. He gave my brother and my sisters an amount too since they are already separated from us. He bought fish for our viand and he also bought something for her mother. My grandma is alone in her house. She is old and no one is making money for her but her own thus papa make sure to give something for her when he had few money in the pocket.
I am happy and feel so blessed today. In life I could tell that God is always there for us. That even in the storm there is always blessings, may it be financial or not. Sometimes it is in a form of lesson to learn. In this times we must not just focus on the struggles but the blessings behind it. The people around us and the things we could learn from it. Some struggles are blessings in disguise. That's why we should not just complain about it but embrace it and see the other side of it. We just need to be sensitive to see the wisdom behind every storm that comes in our life.
Let us learn to appreciate things as well and be grateful of what we have in life.
