Our Earth has so many weird places because of its history. Some people who lived in our past had suffered a lot and they are still out in this world in open air so that they either could be waiting for their revenge or waiting for their day of “moving into the further world”.. whether it is heaven or hell. Such dissatisfied sad souls still linger in some of the places and my country India isn’t an exception. India has millions of stories of past which are happy, sad, angry and of all conditions.
We have thousands of forts and castles here when some are preserved and protected and some are just left off. Each one possess their own stories and if I have to specify one, I would love to start with “The Bhangarh Fort in Alwar district in Rajasthan state. This fort is said to be “The most haunted” in whole India as it also has an “official warning” from Indian government strictly prohibiting visitors from visiting or even to walk near the gate of this fort before sunrise and after sunset. Below is the warning and is written in Hindi.
There are many stories that are associated to the haunting happening here where this fort has been constructed by a king named Madho Singh in 1600 s. The Kings main Guru/Advisory meditated there once and have informed the king that the day the castle’s shadow touches the Guru’s body, the kingdom shall collapse as the kingdom is destined that way. Madho Singh took every care he could to avoid such situation to happen however after his death, his descendants never believed in this and had raised the roof of the castle of the main building.
The Guru came out of his meditation room one day and the shadow of the roof fell on his left hand and immediately, the kingdom started seeing so many natural devastation, droughts, riots and so on. It is said that till date, none of the city’s people could raise a roof of their own houses and whenever they do, the roof some how collapses. And it is also believed that none of the visitors including ghost hunters have returned back if they had visited the palace after sunset, and surprisingly, none of their bodies were found. It is like, they just vanished in thin air....Creepy isn’t?
Another legend of the fort is that about the Princess of the palace. Her name was Ratnavati and she was said to be one of the most beautiful women of that time. When she reached her adulthood, matches started to pour from several deserved Princes from other kingdoms. However, there lived a man, who was a specialist in black magic and occult related things and when he saw the princess one day, he thought to marry her and started planning for the same.
One day, he saw the princess’s best friend in a flea market and he thought of mixing black magic oil with the cooking oil she was buying so that as and when the Princess touches it, she herself would surrender to this man and beg him to marry her. The princess’s spies in the market some how learned about this, as the oil seller himself was one of them and informed the princess to be careful. She hated the magician and took the oil from his hands and poured it down on the road. When his magic was broken and the most powerful spell was wasted, it took its revenge on the black magician himself and killing him instantly.
Seconds before dying, he cursed the entire kingdom that it will soon be perished and will never be normal again with no more new births happen in that place. Just as mentioned, the kingdom saw so many problems that soon the Princess died and the locals moved away from the town leaving the fort and the town abandoned altogether. Some of the locals who live in another cities has been inquired about it and they still believe that the curse exists till date and their Princess would surely take a rebirth, marry a deserved man, give birth to a baby and the curse will finally be broken so that they can return back to their places.
It is these souls, the princess, her friend, the ghost of the black magician, few other servants souls are said to be haunting the place and several paranormal investigations in fact revealed that they themselves have experienced some creepy situations while recording for their documentary such of sudden clapping, cold spots, slap in their faces, their names being called, sudden darkness in well ventilated rooms. Even the normal visitors of the place experienced sudden mood changes, anger, feeling of sadness, frustration and restlessness in themselves, meaning the fort plays emotional games with normal folks.
The wood cutters, local sellers or even the security guards of the forts are not allowed to enter the fort after sunset or before sunrise no matter what. Indian government takes severe legal action against those who don’t abide by this and till date, zero cases has been reported even though this rule has been broken then and there by irresponsible over enthusiastic young people because, none of the people who did not follow this has returned back.
You wanna try going there after sunset or before sunrise?… don’t try it. It is always better to believe the legends in such places. Of course, we can enjoy the fort in morning because it is a famous tourist spot, but not at nights, the fort is closed before sunset and every nuke and corner is checked so that people won't be sneaky and hide inside and vanish the next day
