Update about Sammy on Wildlife Wednesday

4th August 2021 1941 Hello you beautiful and awesome readers. Been a busy wee start to the week for me this week, so not been as active supporting you all as I would have liked to have been. Nor have I hit that publish button since Monday, the perfectionist in me was not happy with some of the drafts I had saved for a rainy day. Not too worry, I will give up an update about my meander yesterday. I got my bags of food, I now take four! These are bags of the following: cut up lettuce oatmeal duck and swan food crushed nuts This array of food means I can feed all the different types of wildlife I have encountered. I got dressed, I wasn't sure whether I should dress as the nurse in @Bloghound story and put on my mini skirt, stockings and suspenders. I mean that is what my Scottish painting sister @CoquiCoin wants me to wear ;) I decided against it, and put on my Eddie Wildlife costume of shorts and polo shirt. I got the park and who did I see? It was none other that the Wizard's right hand squirrel Sammy. He was in a chatty wee mood and introduced me to his long lost distant relative Velma the vole, can you spot her? She was a wee bit shy, so stayed behind Sammy.

As I said Sammy was very talkative and wanted to spill the chismis! No surprise there, these animals are more gossipy than us humans. First thing he mentioned, was that his cousin is visiting. I looked around and said "Well Sammy I don't see another squirrel!" "No you numpty!" Sammy said to me, "she isn't here, she is over at the trees where you feed Rocky the raven." "Oh for f@! sake!" I told Sammy "why didn't you say so. I have had a not so good day, so don't need any nonsense from you. Say what you mean, and don't beat around the bush!" "Okay" said Sammy, "but there is another thing, do you know what happens on Friday?" "Friday the 6th, well it rings a bell, but no idea why. What happens then?" I asked Sammy. "Well it is when the wizard burns the naughty witches! He has the wood already, when you are ready I will show you. But you must go see Sabrina first." replied Sammy. "Okay lang, let's go na." I said to Sammy. "Wait" said Sammy and jumped up my leg. "OUCH, What now" I replied in too grumpy a voice as his claws dug into my thigh. "We have to see Pammy, she and her clan have moved in for a few weeks, they are up in the fountain, come on, I will race you!" said Sammy as he ran off. I had no idea who Pammy was, but I took a quick wee video of her, can you see her breathing? The size of her mouth tho, typical female haha sorry I will take my punishment now ! https://youtu.be/vVbHgEHpt64 I was impressed with Pammy, and did see about twenty of her clan, I left them be, as I was waiting to see Sabrina. Now if know Sammy, you will know he is a gray squirrel. In the UK we used to have bonnie red squirrels, but then grey ones were introduced and they almost wiped out the red ones. If you look at Sabrina you can see a bit of red in her. The animals enjoy a bit of cross racial procreation too! Her tail wasn't as bushy as Sammy's tail is.

Sammy did the introductions and Sabrina seemed shocked that I spoke in a language that made sense to her. She apologised for her European accent, but explained she had got stuck in Europe when Covid happened, now quarantine was over she had returned home. I fed her some of the oatmeal and also the crushed nuts I had, and let her eat, she was starving the poor thing. This area is also where Maggie and Martin the Magpie couple live, but I don't think they will bother Sabrina. Sammy made some comment I couldn't understand, but I did understand the reply from Sabrina! **"Away you go, get out of here bawbag"** Sabrina said to her cousin. I think Sammy got embarrassed because next thing he was bouncing up the trail and showed me this:

I asked Sammy who are the naughty witches. "We only know at noon on the 5th August. Maybe you can warn them, so they can run away? If the wizard knows it is me, he will turn me into wood like my great grandfather Salamuch." replied Sammy a little sadly.
