Hello readers and many thanks for stopping by, I really appreciate it. I have had this article in my head for a few days, but with me moving it has never published. Until now that is!
So the title I have changed from my original article as it was to be in the writing prompt series Darkness, but now it is for something else. I will see if you can guess before revealing itself halfway through.
Wikipedia states "A fan or fanatic, sometimes also termed an aficionado or enthusiast, is a person who exhibits strong interest or admiration for something or somebody, such as a celebrity or a sport or a sports team, a genre, a politician, a book, a movie, a video game or an entertainer."
Are you fan of something?
The birth of an institution and the Founding Fathers
In March 1872 four rowing enthusiasts, the brothers Moses and Peter McNeil, Peter Campbell and William McBeath were playing football on Glasgow Green's Flesher's Haugh in Glasgow Scotland, this led to them creating their Rangers Football Club in 1872!
1872 can you imagine that, that is older than many countries. Next year will be the 150 year anniversary.
Rangers - Too much success?
This club has won:
Scottish Cup: 33
Rangers have been immense and have won championships and trophies galore and in the process become the most hated sports team in Scotland.
I originally was going to write this article on the Darkness prompt from the writing series by @JonicaBradley but I still will but give you a two for one. I mean we all like deals, right? So this is going to be about Darkness, you will see why, then it will progress into another prompt.
RANGERS - The Dark Years and a real Test for True Fans!
Rangers had great success and spent too much money achieving it. Those days there was not the television money that there is today in football. The long and short of it was that the owner Sir David Murray wanted to sell, people who are following my book will know about this (what you aren't reading my book , why not !!).
The club was being pursued and harassed by the UK taxman and had fined us millions and millions of pounds. Anyways, the club was bought for one pound by an idiot who did not know what he was doing. The UK taxman forced the club into liquidation and the Scottish Football Association with prompting from Celtic (our archrivals and other teams like Dundee United) relegated us not one, not twice but THREE times to the lowest division of league football possible. They thought this would kill our club. But you know what, it made Rangers Football club stronger and the fans more loyal. It was a dark dark time, however it meant we set world records for attendances in lower league football, and the fans became even more protective of our great club.
There’s a natural law of karma that vindictive people, who go out of their way to hurt others, will end up broke and alone.
This is a fantastic quote from the author Sylvester Stallone and applies to what I am about to tell you readers.
This leads me onto the second writing prompt Cheating from the writing prompt series, cheating. It also proves for me karma is real. When they relegated us, they thought Rangers fans would stop supporting us and the club would die. Well it made us shout our slogan NO SURRENDER louder. Celtic also thought they would win ten league titles in a row easily, we had won nine and they were desperate to win ten in a row and beat us. Well karma baby was to strike.
The pandemic arrive, we all remember that don't we. Short answer, they award the league title to Celtic (even though mathematically we could have won it), meaning they had nine league titles in a row. They relegated another club called Hearts to the division below, even though they could have avoided relegation. They also relegated the club Partick Thistle from the division below to the division underneath that, and yes you guessed they could have have avoided relegation as well.
The clubs all voted together to do this, they cheated.
Fast forward a year to this season and what happens?
Rangers (denied the chance to win last year) WIN the league and stop Celtic ten in a row titles haha
Hearts relegated last year remember, well they WIN their league
Partick Thistle relegated last year remember, well they WIN their league
Scottish football is more divided than ever before. So know Rangers are not alone, other clubs are fed up with how they are being treated. NO SURRENDER we stopped them, karma is real and cheating does not work. Celtic are a mess now. For the last five years all they have been doing is focusing on winning ten in a row and doing anything including cheating to get it. Well they failed, cheating does not work.
Rangers were cheated, but they get revenge and won their 55th title, they are now the strong ones.
The motto of Rangers Football Club is ..... Ready
Well we were ready.
So thank you for reading and the motto is cheating does not pay in the long run.
NO SURRENDER
I hope you enjoyed reading this as much as I enjoyed writing it.

Haste ye back.
They have been cheated, but that didn't stopped them to slackened instead they used that to make the team more stronger and to prove to those who degrade them, that no matter what they do to them they will come out to be to strongest team ever. #watp 55
