Cinnamon is one of the oldest spices. It is obtained mainly from two species of cinnamon tree, Ceylon (Cinnamomum zeylanicum) and Chinese (Cinnamomum cassia). As a spice, a dried thin inner layer of the crust is used, partly as rolled sticks, partly as powder. It was known to the Romans and imported from the Persian Gulf. Between the 16th and 18th centuries, it was even considered a prized and expensive spice in Europe, brought by the Arabs. Interestingly, in the 16th century, when the Portuguese occupied the island of Ceylon (present-day Sri Lanka), they demanded a tax in the form of cinnamon from the inhabitants of the island.
The charm of cinnamon is certainly in its intoxicating and magical aroma. It is used in cooking, cosmetics and lately also in food supplements. The healing properties of cinnamon are being discovered on a daily basis, making it an increasingly common subject of medical research.
The greatest demand for cinnamon in Europe was in the Middle Ages, when it became the staple food of trade between the Middle East and Europe. It has conquered the whole world with its exotic taste, but above all because of its many healing properties.
CINNAMON OIL

You need:
-cinnamon sticks
-quality olive oil (only quality cold pressed can be intended for preventive health promotion)
Preparation:
Fill a glass with whole cinnamon sticks. Drizzle the sticks with pure olive oil to make them completely submerged. Close the jar tightly and leave at room temperature for about three weeks.
Shake it well every day, and after three weeks strain the oil through gauze into a dark bottle. After that, your cinnamon oil is ready to use.
The number of cinnamon sticks is up to you, but it is best to keep the glass full. The more cinnamon sticks, the better.
