Almost everyone is born a genius and burried an idiot.
-Charles Bukowski
I am pretty sure that you have already heard this quotation from Charles Bukowski. If you aks me, this man knew a lot about life, about people in general and about women.
I wanted to talk about this one.
We are not all born with same chances, but we have chances. All of us. When we are born, everyone expect a lot from us. Our parents think that we will be cosmonauts, super models, rock stars, actors, scientists, writers... and we end up like hard workers, who hate their lives and wait for the life to pass.
That means that when we are born, we all can be ingenious. You are given a lot of time, a lot of chances, a lot of possibilities... It is up to you to use it. Or to miss it.
Most people, unfortunately miss it, because we can not use all our chances, and usually only rare people become genius at the end.
Next thing, why we are not ingenious is that many people during the life are going to fool us. Sometimes we are not going to know that we are fooled, and sometimes we will let someone fool us. For so many reasons, because we like him, because we are not in the mood to argue and to protect ourselves, sometimes is not the right moment for that.
Because of that, at the end of our lives, we are idiots.
Many times, that is not our fault.
Because of that I think that we should fight for ourselves all the time. We need to keep moving forward. We need to get up every time we fall, we need to fight all the time. Whenever we have a problem we need to solve it. Whenever we are fooled we need to show that we know that, we need to give our best every single time when we have any kind of quest.
You do not have to be a rockstar, but you also owe to yourself to do not hate your life. You should not do things you hate, you should not be with people you do not like, you have to do everything you can to stay genius.
Do whatever makes you happy, be with whoever makes you happy, be as happy as you can be.
And, whatever you are doing, do not make an idiot out of yourself.
What a coincidence — I recently wrote about him on another blog and posted this same picture! This is probably because this image of him clearly characterizes his personality. This year marks exactly 100 years since the birth of Charles Bukowski (1920-1994). Great American poet, narrator and novelist, who left a strong influence on the formation of entire generations, who describes people and events on social margins in rough and explicit language.
