It all started two decades ago
Every day on March 8, 1909, the International Women's Day is celebrated, and every November 19, 1999, the International Men's Day is celebrated.
Although Women's Day has a longer tradition and socio-cultural significance in the context of women's struggle for equal place in society, Men's Day nurtures very similar and anti-patriarchal values, which may come as a surprise to those who do not know what Men's Day really means.International Men's Day was first held in 1999 in Trinidad and Tobago.
The key values of International Men's Day are the release of social discipline and support for mental and physical health.
Suppression of emotions as the biggest mistake of the social norm
Men in the patriarchal and male-centric world are taught from birth that showing emotions is not a virtue and that emotions are undesirable. As a result, stereotypes and condemnation emerge for men who do not play by social rules. Namely, men usually feel uncomfortable in sensitive and emotionally difficult situations because society does not tolerate their emotions that they have as human beings. Social pressure usually leads to internalized emotional problems because men feel weak if they express emotions.
At the same time, the International Women's Day criticizes the same things. The goal is to free oneself from prejudice and allow people to be human, while educating society that ridiculing or condemning emotions contributes to even greater problems.
I will mark the day with a photo of the most important men in my life. These are my men to the family. Husband and sons!
Today, I will also share pictures of Hollywood golden age actors.
Hollywood actors of the golden age were often a symbol of masculinity, at least in appearance, so even today you can often find posters comparing what men used to look like (a picture of an actor from that time) and today (a model, which is also not comparable). Then let's compare what is, in your opinion, who is the biggest face of that era of masculinity? I didn't include all the leading actors of that era, but here are some of them: Carrie Grant, Gary Cooper, Gregory Peck, Montgomery Clift, Tyrone Power, Jul Briner, Charlton Heston, Bert Lancaster, Errol Flynn, Marlon Brando, James Dean, Humphrey Bogart, Paul Newman, Rock Hudson and Kirk Douglas,Džejmsa Stjuarta....Klerka Gejbla, Stjuarta Grendžera, Vilijama Holdena
