It's getting bigger
Date: July 21, 2021 Author: Sequoia When we were young, we used to view life as rainbows, unicorns, candies and toys. Isn’t it amazing how we perceive the world before as a paradise? A place where we can do whatever we want and laugh like there’s no tomorrow. Chasing each other in the grass and swim in the crystal clear river was my favourite thing to do. Reminiscing how I spent my childhood days really carve a smile in my face. However, just like any other things, we can’t stay like that forever. We grow up and along with this, our perception in life changes also. We started to see the cruelty and complexity of the thing we called life. The level of our happiness became very deep and our definition of success starts to get higher and bigger than before. And unfortunately, this is the harsh reality of becoming an adult. Can’t get enough of what we have and always aim for more. This is my entry for Ma’am @JonicaBradley writing prompt about success. Please do enjoy and don’t forget to bring a half empty glass with you. ________________________ **April 11, 2006** Dear Diary, I turn 6 years old today and I am so happy because my mom bought my favourite cake. However, I am a bit sad also because my besfriend wasn’t around. Anyways, I still did enjoy my day and I thank my mama and papa so much for my successful birthday. Love, Tali **August 28, 2010** Dear Diary, We went to the mall today to buy some needed school supplies for my project in science. When we were about to go home, I saw a very cool bicycle and asked my parents if I could have one. They shook their heads and say no. I got mad at them and never talked to them again until we got home. If they couldn’t buy that bike for me, then I am gonna get that for myself. Love, Tali **December 25, 2011** Dear Diary, Merry Christmas! I was surprised by my parent’s gift for me. It was the bike that I’ve been asking them last year. They were able to buy it for me this year. However, I am happy, but not that happy. Why? Because I don’t want that bike anymore. I found new and cooler bike than that. They should have told that they were planning to buy me a bike. Aiissh. Love, Tali **June 16, 2013** Dear Diary, Today was my first day of being a first year high school student. However, I am still not contented, I want to beat our top one. **March 20, 2015** Dear Diary, I finally beat our top one and I am now the number one top achiever in our whole grade level. I am so happy about it. However, my friends found new friends because I’ve been ignoring them for the months. Well, they can’t blame me, I have goal to achieve and I really did it, without them. I don’t care! Love, Tali **September 3, 2016** Dear Diary, I won the first place of news writing in our Division School Press Conference. But I shouldn’t celebrate it, it’s just so easy. What I want to achieve is be the champion in our Regional School Press Conference. I am gonna strive hard for it. Love, Tali **April 2, 2017** Dear Diary, Today’s our graduation day! I am the Valedictorian and my parents were so happy about it. They were planning to have a small celebration but I declined it. It is not enough; I still need to study hard to pass my entrance exam in my most dream school in the city. I want peace to be able to focus and study. I know, I still have a lot of months to prepare but I don’t want to waste any time. Love, Tali **August 7, 2018** I successfully passed the entrance exam and today’s my first day of being a first year college student. This university is really big. Well, I still have one hour before our first class so I guess, I’ll go to library first and study. I need to maintain my grades here because I am a university scholar. Love, Tali **September 24, 2022** At last, I finished my college degree with flying colours. My parent’s where so proud of me and they prepare a celebration for my success. There are so many people in our house to congratulate me and of course I thank them. However, I only interact with them for a short period of time because I need to study in advance for my Board Exam. Love, Tali **January 5, 2023** Dear Diary, The result of the board exam is finally out and I passed it. My parents want to throw a small celebration again but I refused it. We have to save money because I don’t have a job yet. I need to find a job first. Love, Tali **February 2, 2023** Dear Diary, It took me one year before I got a job. However, it is not an enough reason to celebrate. I want to be promoted to have a higher salary for my parents and to be able to have a business. That is my goal now. Love, Tali **July 11, 2025** Dear Diary, I am now in a bigger position and also build a business for myself and family. However, I am far from my parents but I regularly sent them enough money for their daily expense. I need to grind more. Love, Tali **November 5, 2026** Dear Diary, My father called me today. He said that my mother is sick and is asking me to come home. However, I cannot do it because I still have a lot of things to do. I hope they will understand, I am doing this for them anyways. I have a meeting with a big investor and I really need to close that deal. Love, Tali **November 8, 2026** Dear Diary, I got the big investor and he is such a big asset to my company. My company is now one of the leading companies here in our country. I am much respected and many people admire me for my success. I am now successful and can get anything I want. But in exchange of it, I lost my mom and dad. Mother died today because of sickness and my dad died because of heart attack. If only I could bring back the time. Love, Tali ________________________ As the time goes by, our perception of success changes gradually. As we grow up, we level success based on our achievements in life. Nevertheless, I believe that each person have their own definition of success. Regardless, we should never forget to celebrate every achievement, may it be small or big. Celebrate it with the people you love and treasure. Always remember that you are doing this for them. That’s why, they are most important than those things. Don’t be afraid to take a break and breathe. Be grateful for everything. Remember, all the materials things here in the world will perish, but your time spend with your loved ones, will always be remembered by their hearts. ***Cherished the people around you before it’s too late.*** Heyaaaa! Thanks for reading everyone ❤ God bless you! A work of fiction.

I got a shiver in my spine reading the last diary entry😂 But you were right, there should be balance. While we endeavor to achieve whatever we set our minds to, we should also put in the forefront of our goals our personal relationships, our families for that matter. We shouldn't set them aside, in fact, they should be within our priorities.
True, we shouldn't forgot that they are the reason why we keep on fighting. Thanks for dropping by poo.
Yes :) and you're welcome :)
Celebrating our achievement is a good thing for us to keep motivated and to keep moving on. Just don't give up and always remember why you're fighting in the first place.
Ahuuh. Let's keep fighting despite of anything.
Nung nabasa ko title iba nasa isip ko sis. Hahaha! Di joke lang. Seryoso, we should not forget the people who are with us whether it's failure or success. dahil kung wala sila, ang lungkot pag wala tayong kasama mag celebrate.
Bakit ano iniisip mo mareee HAHAHAHAHA. truuee, we should never forget to celebrate with them.
Yung ano kasi, it's getting bigger 🤣

Whoops... it keeps getting bigger. So sad you lost your mum and dad. But you know what? You are successful.
Yeaah, our definition keeps bigger and bigger as we grow older
What an interesting way to write about success. I love the format of diary entries. Very creative.
Thank you so much.
Everyone looks at success from his or her own perspective. Sometimes success does not imply an opulent life but a life of peace.
This is so true.
Ayan kasi dapat makontento din tayo kung ano yung nakakaya natin. Big or small man yan big achievement parin 🤦🏻♀️ Hays...
Totoo. B econtented talaga.
Iba talaga pag palagi kang updated sa mga achievements mo..easily said than done..success comes one step at a time!
True bebe.
A baby step is still a step to success, sis! May you enjoy the sweet success after trying just one more time...
❤❤❤🤗
Success comes one after the other. As you step up through your journey, don't forget the people who love you. Include your loved ones in your plans toward success.
Trruuuee. We should never forget our loved ones.
Yipiiieee. Small success is still a success! And it will get bigger! As a chef here in our house, knowing different recipes is a success! 😁
