Twitter users helped Joan Rowling deal with BitCoin

In a commentary on a Tweet by CoinDesk journalist Lee Kuen, the famous writer complained that she did not understand Bitcoin and asked for an explanation of what it was.

Soon there followed a response from the creator of Ethereum, Vitalik Buterin, who wrote, however, that the first cryptocurrency “was not backed up by anything”.

“This is a digital currency. In total there are about 18 million such currency units. She is not backed up by anything. It is simply valuable because it is a kind of collectible. ”

Vitalik also talked about a network of computers that everyone can join, and drew an analogy with a certain global Excel table.

Obviously, not everyone liked this comment.

“Don't listen to this skinny guy. His role model was Elizabeth Holmes [the founder of the infamous Theranos], ”wrote @PsychedelicBart.

Trying to be as clear as possible, some Twitter users used terminology coined by Rowling herself.

“As before, wizards are forced to trust Gringotts.” Bitcoin fixes that, ”@Bitcoin wrote.

However, Rowling, apparently, managed to understand a little.

“People are now explaining to me about bitcoin and, frankly, these are blah blah blah collectibles (My Little Pony?), Blah blah blah computers (there is one of them), blah blah blah crypt (sounds awesome) , blah blah blah, be aware of the risks (I don’t realize, in general), ”the writer complained.

The head of Tesla and SpaceX, Elon Musk, volunteered to solve the problem. He expressed the opinion that the activity of central banks makes Bitcoin more reliable "Internet money" in comparison with fiat money, the supply of which is growing rapidly.

Musk added that he still has 0.25 BTC.
