Pavel Durov offered investors 2 options👇

The deadline set by Telegram itself to launch the TON blockchain and release the Gram cryptocurrency expires on April 30, 2020 (today).

Against this background, Durov sent investors letters in which he proposed 2 options for resolving the issue:

1️⃣ Return 72% of investments right now;

2️⃣ Or 110% of the initial investment, but after a year.

The first option is clear, we will not dwell on it. What does the second mean?

Investors may agree to wait until April 30, 2021. The letter says:

  “In gratitude for your trust in TON, we also offer you an alternative option for receiving 110% of your initial investment by April 30, 2021” (which is 53% higher than the reimbursement for option 1) ... “Telegram continues to negotiate with the relevant authorities.”

That is, investors can receive 110% of their initial investment if they agree to wait another year, until April 30, 2021.

Then there are two more outcomes:

🔹 If, by April 30, 2021, Telegram will receive all the necessary permissions and launch the blockchain, then investors will receive Gram in the same amount as stipulated in their purchase agreements.

🔹 If, until April 2021, trading in Gram cryptocurrency is not allowed in the USA, Durov promised to pay investors by selling Telegram shares.

Durov's expectations are such that the cost of the messenger is several times higher than the total amount of debt to TON investors.

The letter reminds that the messenger has 400 million monthly users with an increase of 1.5 million people per day, and Telegram in its category is the most downloaded application in 27 countries.

QIWI founder Sergey Solonin, who invested $ 17 million in TON, believes the latest Telegram statement is good news for investors:

“The conditions are really good, I think that many investors will prefer to store their money on Telegram. There definitely is a value for capital, and even if Telegram is ultimately not allowed to release Gram, I think during this year they will be able to find an investor / funds and pay money. ”

The general mood of funds and large investors to continue relations with TON and wait until 2021, but the final decision takes time, because many people came together.
