Yesterday at work I got asked for help by other software developers twice. And I was able to help. Even though I'm just a junior developer. At the end they also said thank you to me. This was a pretty nice feeling. When people ask you for help or advice and you are able to solve the problem you feel "needed".

In the beginning of a relationship/marriage men treat their women like a princess. They make her gifts, regularly go out on dates and treat her in a really nice way. But after some time things start to change. The man slowly turns lazy. He got what he wanted and got used to it. He starts taking her for granted. My mom explained to me that a relationship need constant care from BOTH parties to work out in the long term. Even when you are together for 15+ years you have to find time to do stuff together. Men have to understand that a long term relationship isn't only about these sparkly feelings of the first years, but about something way more precious. It's a deep level of trust and care. It's not possible to unlove someone you truely love. But if you start getting lazy and stop actively caring about your partner it will initiate a chain reaction. The egoistic lazy man, who is only laying on the couch all day long isn't the one the woman fell in love with... And because of that after a while she will indirectly show that to him. This chain reaction leads to more fights, less physical contact and even less time spend together. Everything slowly escalates until a relationship isn't possible anymore. Just a personal theory on why so many long term relationships fail.
Since about December 2021 I'm not eating meat or drinking milk anymore. For me it's an ethical and personal decision. I don't want to participate in this horrible animal suffering. There is no need to eat meat so I don't. I don't want any animal to suffer or to die for me. The milk and meat industry is one of the most cruel things... I discussed my diet with two doctors and got my blood stats checked twice. Everything is fine. I fully respect people who still eat meat. When cooking with/for my dad we just cook the meat in a separate pan so my dad can eat his meat and I can eat my veggies and artifical plant based meat. I don't care if the people around me decide to eat meat. It's just a personal decision that I don't. Finding vegetarian food in Japan will become a challenge too for sure. ðŽ In the worst case I will eat salted rice every single day! ð Btw. cows are such loving, caring, curious and intelligent animals. Just like big dogs. Many see cows, pigs and chicken just as a source of meat. But these are actually living individuals who have the same feelings like humans and a high degree of intelligence. ðĪð I found this cute picture on the Internet.
On noise.cash I once posted about that I want to buy a long hug in a cuddle cafe when I travel to Japan. ðĪĶð My opinion on that has changed. I won't do it. I shouldn't be careless about things like my first hug/cuddle or first hand holding, even though I'm so old. It should be a person I actually have feelings for and not a stranger who I pay for doing it... If I will turn 30 without having experienced a hug besides birthday hugs from my mom or grandma that will be fine. So the cuddle cafe got deleted from my "to-do" list in Japan! ðð
When visiting my mom there is one topic we always discuss about. I'm trying to convince my mom not to spend all her money and to invest it for long term financial security. And she is trying to convince me to spend my money. Many of my clothes are washed out and have holes. My mom tried to convince me that I should buy new clothes because others could think bad of me. No. I won't buy new clothes yet. I rather save and invest my money. ð The ones who know me won't think bad about me because of my clothes. It's not like they are dirty or so. That's what matters. I'm strict when it comes to building wealth for the future. Me living with my dad and being able to save the majority of my income is a huge opportunity. It won't make me rich, but at one point I will become able to bring financial security to the one(s) I love. Life is unpredictable so I don't know for how long I will be able to save like this. But for now that's what I want and need to do! ðĪ
I haven't post about it yet, but I survived the trial period. I'm officially employed now. The boss was telling me that I'm lacking social skills and that I should have more confidence in my work. He said that the code I submitted so far was fine and that I shouldn't worry about that I screwed things up a few times. He said that it's okay that I'm not talking much as long as I keep submitting decent code. What does this mean for me? If the company wants to fire me they have to tell me 3 months in advance. And I get some nice benefits.
Hair dresser: "How old are you now?" Me: "I'm XY years old." Hair dresser: "Do you have a girlfriend?" Me: "No" ~The whole hair saloon suddenly turned silent while I turned red like a tomato~ Hair dresser: "Did you ever had a girlfriend?" Me: "No" Hair dresser: "Hmmm. Okay." She also was asking me out about my parents. The chit chat at the hair dresser is something I won't miss when I get bald soon... ðŽ
I decided to travel to Japan this year. I booked a flight from Germany to Japan and a hotel for two weeks. I think the flight was a bit expensive but I was able to compensate it by booking the "cheapest" hotel. I also used a coupon code. I hope this was the right decision. I thought a lot about the destination, but after talking to my mom I realized that it won't be the last time I will travel. Next year I can just fly to another destination so I shouldn't stress so much about it. My investments and wealth building have a higher priority. But if there is a little left over I should consider using it to invest it into myself by for example travelling.
äļįãŦäļãĪã ããŪčą âĻð·âĻ Almost always on my way to the office I'm listening to this song. I know that the meaning of this song is different but it reminds me of whom I'm doing this for. Regardless of how horrible I feel it gives me the power to keep going. Everyone is telling me that it's not clever to save and invest like I'm doing. My co-workers, my parents, even reality. But only one reminder of why I'm doing this makes me feel confident about my "strategy". ð ðĪĶð
Currently the probabilities for my decision where to travel to this year are: 40% Japan 30% Philippines 20% Both 10% I'm too scared to step out of my comfort zone and stay at home ðĩ I'm still not sure yet... And the longer I wait for booking a flight and hotel the more expensive both will get. A non-stop flight to Japan already costs 1800$. ðΧ Two months ago it was 1400$... Recently I'm watching Youtube videos about people doing a vacation in Japan. These make me wish that there would be someone who would want to do a vacation together with me. Travelling with a friend would be way more fun. ð
In the picture you can see the 3 year performance of my stocks portfolio (white line) in comparison to Germanys inflation displayed by the HICP (red line). My strategy is a GDP weighted split into the developed countries and emerging markets with a little bit more Japan because I'm a weeb. ðŽð This portfolio is the foundation of my aggressive wealth building strategy since I will profit from long term compound interest using accumulating index funds.
"When the head is shaved an airbender is able to feel the wind around him." https://youtu.be/g3CuPz3ht10 Maybe my real profession is becomming an airbender. ðĪ Jokes aside... I didn't went to the hair dresser in 3 month and everyone is telling me that my hair looks unkempt and horrible. Even my mom. ðŽ The reality is that in probably about a year I will be bald and I don't want to... ðĒ My hair loss got much worse and even my hair dresser told me that I should stop trying to grow my hair out...
In my mind there is this idea of also taking this heavy and dusty brick to my vacation which I'm planning to do this year. My grandpa who died 5 years ago gave this old Polaroid Impulse AF camera to me. I know that I maybe sound weird but it feels like being able to take my grandpa with me showing him each picture I take with this camera... And since every single picture would cost me 2.30$ to take I only would take pictures of things that really mean something to me. Unlike with normal cameras Polaroid pictures always are a 1/1.
I "modded" a Nintendo DS Lite handheld console. It took me so many hours of work and I broke so many replacement parts until it finally was able to put everything together... I like this color combination of red, green and transparent/white elements ! ðĨš Sadly I broke the lower screen yesterday... ðĪðĪĶ I guess this will be my Gameboy Advance emulator now since it only needs one screen... When the DS got released in 2006 the GBA was still Nintendo's main handheld. So the DS has GBA hardware build into it. It has a GBA cartridge slot. I bought a flash card which allowes me to play any kind of GBC and GBA roms on my DS. I remember when I borrowed The Legend of Zelda Minish Cap from one of my cousins and played it on my DS Lite... ðĨš The DS Lite probably is the cheapest way to play all kinds of Gameboy, Gameboy Color, Gameboy Advance and Nintendo DS roms on real hardware. ðĪð

This Espeon V secret rare Pokemon card is my best "investment" of 2022. ð I bought it for ~3000 yen (21.82$). Now the same store sells it for ~22800 yen (165.80$). That my Pokemon card collection is currently skyrocketing in value is a nice thing, but I bought these cards because they have an emotional and nostalgic value for me. As a kid I was amazed by these shiny cardboards. And as an adult I'm too! ðŽ I bought this card because I really like the artwork of Espeon being in a library with books flying around. I won't sell it.
If you visit Germany during summer one thing you should try is Germany's greatest invention. The spaghetti ice cream! ð Vanilla ice cream strings, strawberry sauce, white chocolate shavings and a core of whipped cream. I can tell you that it's delicious! ð Some background info: https://youtu.be/NOm4if6-nXI
Me: I studied at university X. Him: Oh. Me too. That's funny. Me: My first semester was in 2017. Him: Mine too. We probably know each other. Him: Let's turn on our cameras to check. ~(Us turning on the cameras)~ Me: I know your face! Him: I know your face too! We both: WOW! ðŊ What a coincident! Today a senior software developer invited me to a meeting with developers from another company we are working with. And I met someone from university. ðŊ
Instead of working I'm in the garden and feeding some ants... Not because I'm lazy, because I'm sick since last week. I went to the doctor and she wrote me free from work for today. ðŽ I wasn't able to post anything during the weekend because of that so I just wanted give a little update.
The daily network usage dropped from ~500k transactions to ~10k. The Tweets per day dropped from ~3k to ~200. The price dropped from ~1300$ to ~118$. Bitcoin.com / Roger Ver as the loudest promoter of Bitcoin Cash are now promoting Ethereum and their Verse Token. Many whales like Marc De Mesel sold most of their BCH for coins like ETH and BTC. I don't think there is any other cryptocurrency out there that isn't a scam token that is doing so bad like Bitcoin Cash. ðĪðŽ Pricewise I'm down ~10k$ with BCH. But that's okay. I probably won't sell my BCH anyway since it turned into such a little amount... I will just hodl and look how things will turn out. ð
Having too many attachments and responsibilities in life prevents you from major changes. This can be something positive or negative. It can provide you with some sort of security and stability, but also can reduce your possibilities to change what you are not happy about. Or even your goals. I just decided to post this random thought to give a sign of life...
Even though I currently have a job I'm not spending much money. Because of the investing plans I set up with my stocks broker and crypto exchange I'm currently saving almost my "whole" income. I only have ~50⎠each month to spend. ðŽðĪĶ My mom doesn't understand why I'm doing this. She always is saying that I have to "reward" myself by buying something. But I don't feel that way. Money means freedom. And every cent I decide to invest, instead of spending it on materialistic stuff I don't really need, brings me a bit more freedom.
My grandparents told me about the "Nigrin men" who were roaming from village to village selling shoe paste. They walked on stilts and were able to look in through the second floor window. I found this picture online. Somehow they are a bit creepy.
Terrorism, kidnapping and blackmailing of wealthy people, rebels who fight against the army, a "War against drugs", robbery, violence, corrupt security officials who try to scam tourists, and so on ... Wow... ðĨ Is this really true? ðĒ The German Ministry of Foreign Affair warns about a high criminal rate and high risks for tourists in the Philippines. I already read about it once but the danger seems to increase...? ð That's kind of scary tbh... The regions of the screenshot they point out as especially dangerous.
When you enter the canteen at work you have to greet everyone with "Mahlzeit!". I always enter the canteen trying to say "Mahlzeit" but no voice is comming out of my mouth. I always quickly take a seat and take out my smartphone to pretent being busy with stuff because I feel awkward and shy amoung so many people. I barely talk at work. When I'm sitting there with my co-workers or boss there is just silence. Soon the trial period ends and the company has to decide if they want to hire me. I have a bad feeling about this.
I wonder if I would regret not to travel this year somewhere in the future. Either to Japan or the Philippines... Or maybe both... Even if I would get fired within my trial period I could just drive over to Switzerland or Austria and make a low budget vacation in the Alps. My main concern is if a vacation abroad would be a good investment into myself regarding my self-development and experience in life. My second concern is if I should fly to Japan while my Japanese skills are on the lowest point because I recently don't have much time to study.
Being happy when it's Friday and the weekend is approaching. Being depressed when it's Monday and you have to start working again. Counting every single day towards the next paycheck. Counting every single day towards the next holiday. Time is flying by because you are doing the "same" stuff every single day. And this is that what I have to do for the rest of my life...? This is how life works...?
It's the first time I'm in a governmental health insurance and I'm surprised by the system. When I regularly go to the doctor I actually get money for doing this. And I don't even have to pay for the check-ups. ð§ Cancer prevention 30⎠each, dentist check-up 10âŽ, vaccination 10âŽ, general check-up 30âŽ, and so on... I can accumulate like ~200$ a year for regularly getting my health checked. Being in a private health insurance you will get your appointments faster, you get additonal things like free glasses or free premium dentures and you will have access to exclusive private doctors. But being in a governmental health insurance also seems nice to me.
When I'm at the office and not allowed to use my smartphone this is my only gate to the outside world. The Bitcoin price. ðŽ I have a small ticker in my taskbar. Over the past week Bitcoin jumped over 35% which is pretty cool I think. It gave me a nice feeling while things didn't went well at work and I failed to communicate.
This song caused so many childhood flashbacks for me... ðĨš Youtube just recommended it to me and I haven't listen to it in years. It's Germany's Eurovision Song Contest entry from 2006. Summer 2006, incredible heat, the World Championship in Germany, the DS Lite got released, ... Back then everything was alright and everyone was still alive. It reminds me of a time where everyone was just happy. Texas Lightning - No No Never https://youtu.be/XAaG0jalyjg
I'm so scared about losing contact to everyone. Everyone stopped posting here... Where did everyone went...? ðĒð Not even everyone from noise.cash joined noise.app... I used to read every morning how everyone is doing. I used to wake up every day with someone incredible being there supporting me with my internship report and thesis. Now there is silence. I'm scared of being alone again. I'm scared of losing people who are important to me.
