Even though I currently have a job I'm not spending much money. Because of the investing plans I set up with my stocks broker and crypto exchange I'm currently saving almost my "whole" income. I only have ~50€ each month to spend. 😬🤦 My mom doesn't understand why I'm doing this. She always is saying that I have to "reward" myself by buying something. But I don't feel that way. Money means freedom. And every cent I decide to invest, instead of spending it on materialistic stuff I don't really need, brings me a bit more freedom.

Ahhh, same! There are people who take 'pay yourself first' as treating themselves/buying something for themselves, as for me, I pay myself thru saving.
Exactly! For me personally it's the best thing to reward myself with because then my money starts working for me and not me working for the money. The opportunities this give to me is the biggest possible reward for me.
You're mom is absolutely correct. People get a job to earn money, and that money will be used to buy things that we need and want if we have much. But... It will make more sense if we learn how to make more money using our earned money so we can spend a lot for our future. 😊 Follow what your heart wants. But, it's not that bad if you follow your mom sometimes. ☺️
You save 2 months to buy a new iPhone. You feel happy. What of this "happiness" is left after a few weeks? Nothing. You got used to it and are looking for the next big thing to buy. An Apple Watch. You are trapped into a never ending treadmill. After a few years all the stuff you bought isn't worth much money anymore and you throw them away. The most of my money I'm spending on investments, but I also would spend my money when I know that what I buy will bring me sustainable happiness. That's why I want to buy things that bring beautiful memories. Like travelling, supporting the ones I love etc... And aggressively investing my whole income and cut my spendings makes me able to do so... Idk if I make any sense... 😔
For me, there are 2 types of happiness... 1. Temporary Happiness which we can easily achieve and easily fade. 2. Lifetime Happiness which is the one who takes time and effort to achieve. Also the one that you're actually doin. And Yes of course it makes sense... The thing is, you have your plans in your mind. And you're on your way in achieving your goal(if it is, and i think it is😅) Y'know what. You have the characteristics of an " ideal guy". The way that how the guy must think of his future. Hays. 😪 Hope all.
I agree. I'm reducing a lot of type 1 happiness. 😬 That was very kind of you to say. I know how you meant this but I'm taking this as a compliment. I had to breathe to process this. 😅🤦 There are actually many people who try to use their money in a way that brings them the maximum of sustainable happiness in life. They are called "frugalists". You will find many blog articles about happiness by these people. I felt like you were referring to someone close to you. 🤔 From my experience you can't easily change someones view on these topics...
If that's what you are doing. Then you have a big chance that you'll live your life to the fullest when you finally reached your goal. Cool! Ahhhh, not actually, in general...now a days, lots of guys don't think the way you do. That's why hehe.
I hope so... I really hope so... 😔 Oh! I see. 😅
