The last movie I saw
"There are no extraordinary men... just extraordinary circumstances that ordinary men are forced to deal with."
Actually, I love watching movies when it's my free time and specifically action movies, and most of the time romantic ones that are emotional. I want to feel it, I want to cry but most times, I blame myself for being too emotional when watching a movie.
I am presently watching a Korean movie (tssk, I have decided not to watch this kind of movie again but this one, I can't stop watching it) it's titled "King's Affection" and it has 20 Episodes and I have started crying in Episode 2, 😁😁 a friend who gave me was like "The movie hasn't started yet, you are crying, what if you get to Episode 10 upward, you will cry your eyes out" Lol
This is not where I am going. The last movie I saw which I would recommend to you if you haven't seen it is "HARRIET". It was after I watched this movie, that I realized it was based on a true life story of a woman named "Harriet Tubman" who took a narrow escape as a slave and went on 13 missions to help other slaves including her family and friends into freedom. Harriet was an American abolitionist and a political activist who was born in March 1822- March 10, 1913.
Harriet, known as Araminta Ross(that was her real name) when she was born into slavery with her family. The law was to release everyone once her mother clocks 45 but she has already passed the age (57yrs then) and still, they haven't gained freedom.
Her master would maltreat her without mercy. There was a time when she was hit with a heavy metal on her forehead. The metal was meant to be thrown at a slave but it hit her instead, and she suffered traumatic head wound. The injury affected her so much that she kept having pains and dizziness which resulted in Hypersomnia for her. After the incident, she started seeing strange visions and from there, God was always speaking and guiding her.
Araminta, after praying continuously for her Master to be changed into a good man, still he didn't change but would inflict pain on her. Her master denied her freedom when she begged to be allowed to go with her fiancé who was a free man, so they both could live happily together and not give birth to their children in slavery. He denied and she went out in frustration to talk to God, "God, if you aren't ready to change his heart, at least take his heart". After a week, her master died and this made the son place her on sale so she wouldn't be free.
Hearing that, she took a narrow escape to Philadelphia in 1849 where she met with the antislavery activists. Using the network of antislavery activists and safe houses known as the underground railroad, she rescued her family and friends into freedom.
It was after her escape, she changed her name to Harriet Tubman and disguised again with the name "Moses".
If you must know, she first brought the song "Wade in the Water" before it was remixed
She successfully went on 13 missions to save her people and didn't lose anyone. She believed that she had the right to two things: "Liberty or Death". If she could not have one, she would have the other.
This movie also portrays the story of the Israelites in the Bible where they were enslaved by the king of Egypt and sending Moses to free them, even when Pharaoh's heart was hardened. God fought for them through Moses who led them out of Egypt and conquered them when they were thrown into the sea with their chariots.
Watching this movie, I learnt many lessons from the life of Harriet Tubman.
She was a brave and courageous woman who sees fear as an enemy and conquered it.
She had faith in God who led and guided her through the missions and other missions she embarked on.
In her dictionary, there was nothing like giving up. She prefers to die on her mission than not doing anything even when the antislavery activists weren't helping her, she went herself with God's help.
Harriet knew her right and fought for it.
If you are interested in watching because saying it might not be satisfactory to you. Lol, Here is the link to download online

I think I came across this movie yesterday when I was looking for something to watch on Netflix but I dismissed it. It seems like it will be an interesting movie to watch (judging by the description you gave), I will check it out later tonight
