Our perspectives are different.

There are two kinds of people in this life. Those who positively see things and those who see negatively. Everyone is unique and different and we cannot act, behave, or feel the same way. Even two identical twins can never see things in the same way. This is why 6 and 9 are different, and the way you view the number six will be different from the way I view it. That is life.

But do you know it is what brings out the uniqueness in us? Being able to see things differently is what brings creativity to us, and our perspectives on things make the artwork beautiful in our way.

Just like two people with a glass cup being placed in their front and on the table. The first person sees the glass cup as being half empty, while the second person sees it as a beautiful crystal goblet that is half full of fruit juice or wine, ready to be consumed and enjoyed. Such a person may even notice the small red rose flower being placed beside the glass.

What makes the difference between the two?

The first person only focused on the bad look of the glass cup as not having anything, while the other person sees the beauty in the glass and what it could contain and be enjoyed. Not only that, he or she would definitely see the good things the glass has to offer in the future, together with things surrounding it.

Many people only focus on minor deficiencies, and they can't see the abundance there. When we are too worried, complaining of things we do not have, we carefully lose the big opportunities awaiting us.

I remembered when I first got to school, I was approached by some students in my department and they were trying to advise me to go for a particular elective course because one is tough and not easy. I smiled and said in my mind that it is the same course I will go for and prove to them that I can do it and to God's glory, I passed the course.

It is how you view things, so shall it be for you. The Bible says as a man thinks, so he is. So, whatever your perspective on something is, that is the way you see it to be.

Why are our perspectives different?

This usually comes from our point of view, and is also shaped by the experiences we have had in the past. Most times, it is different due to our current state of mind and many other factors.

When you go to two people to seek advice on your new relationship. While the first person may see it as a beautiful thing and something one would enjoy, the other might discourage you from going into one because to him or her, a relationship is like an egg that once it's broken, nothing can be done to it again.

What is the difference? The first person has tasted the sweetness of a relationship and would give tips on how to live the best out of it, while the second person had bad experiences in the past about his or her relationship, comparing it to an egg being broken.

We view things indifferently and it is as a result of what we are going through and what has happened to us in the past.

The beautiful part about perspective is positively seeing things, and not the other way around because if you think there is no way for you, then that is what your mind has taught you to believe in.

There is more to life than dwelling in the hurtful past. If life brings you a lemon, you have to turn it into lemonade and you see the best part of you.

If you do not see your perspective in the positive way, you can never appreciate the work of art, and you will not see what is in it to offer you.

Negatively seeing things will only discourage you, and make you go into a state of depression, instead of focusing on the brighter side of life.

Change your perspective today and positively view things and believe that things are going to happen and turn around in the best way for you, no matter what challenges you have been into. The best is yet to come and when it does, you will be amazed and happy.
