Lions and Buffalos

"If the only thing you plan on doing this weekend is breathing, then that’s fine as well".

I was inspired yesterday after watching the animal documentaries. This is the favorite channel of my cousins as they are always interested in seeing different kinds of animals. I don't have interest in watching this stuff but I was captivated by how the Lions attack their prey. I was busy working online when I stopped suddenly to focus on the TV while I was watching the Lions and Buffalos.

At first, it was a lion calculating and targeting its prey. The way the lion was acting was amazing to me because I was surprised to see how it was busy targeting and making sure it didn't miss its aim. There are two ways lions get their prey. Either by pouncing on them or knocking them over until they win. Lions do not give up on their prey and won't stop until they achieve their aim and if they miss the first aim, they start all over targeting another prey.

The Lion was trying to catch a baby buffalo and its target was focused on the baby. In fact, they were two babies but its main aim was on one. I knew at that moment that when a lion has focused its eyes on a particular prey, even if there are many prey, it only focuses only on the one being targeted.

The Lion bent down and was tiptoeing to get its aim. I was shocked to see how sensible it was. This made me realize animals too are wise and smart, just like human beings. They know what they want from what they do not want. They can easily attack their prey if they aim well and they don't give up, especially the Lions when they are hungry. Suddenly, it pounced on the baby buffalo and other lions came out to start taking their shares.

The Buffalos came around in groups to see what the lions were eating. When they saw they had killed one of their babies, they got angry and started locking their horns and scaring the lions away. I can see they were bitter because of what they did

Animals too are caring and empathetic just like we human beings. They know how to protect themselves from others and would do anything to keep them safe.

I felt for the buffalos because I could feel the pain in them. One of them was killed and they had to fight back. They went in groups to attack the lions in their territory. I believe they must have held a short meeting to attack the lions for what they did to one of them.

The big buffalos were leading while the small ones followed behind to meet with the lions. Even though the Lion is the king of the jungle, there are some animals they are scared of, among them is the Elephant.

If I were to listen to them, they would be confronting the lions on why they had to kill one of them and a lion would speak up and say

"Your baby came to meet us and was looking for trouble and we decided to teach him a lesson"

"But you could have scared him away, instead of eating him up. This is unfair! You killed a baby just coming into the world and you think you will go scot free?" Said the big buffalo

"Get ready for a battle because we won't accept it until we get revenge".

The Buffalos went and came back ready to attack.

I love how they took the matter. They got hold of a baby lion and killed it too with the lions looking at them from afar because they couldn't do anything.

Seriously, in the animal kingdom, they are smart and are caring to their families. There are lessons to learn from animals when you watch them attentively and I did yesterday with the actions of the Lions and Buffalos.

I was able to see other kinds of animals I have never seen before. This made me watch another documentary on YouTube. The buffalo was attacked by a group of lions and they struggled to bring it down. The buffalo really tried even when it was surrounded by its enemies. They pounced on the buffalo and had no one to save it. Then another buffalo came around to see if it could try to save it but couldn't. It went back and a few minutes later, the elephants came in groups and scared the lions away but it was too late as they had already knocked the buffalo down. The elephants pursued the Lions away.

There is unity in the animal world and they watch out for each other even though they end up killing themselves for food. The animals can only eat themselves when they are hungry and so, this made it easier to hunt and kill their prey.

Perhaps I didn't narrate this clearly, especially to those who love watching animals, but I only tried explaining what I saw in my own way. So, if you didn't enjoy it, let me know in the comment section. 😁

Thank you for reading

Scientist says that we are the higher animals due to the percentage of brain power we possess. Simply means other animals also have their brain power but at a lower percentage. God is amazing. Have a wonderful day ma'am

That is very true. We are higher animals and they can´t fully function with their brains more like us because our percentage of brain process is high. Thank you for the beautiful comment.

Princess!!! Nibo latun jasi bayi? Ah. Hahahaha.

I don't like watching the hunting animal documentaries. They get me angry because I've seen a lion hunt for sport. After taking down the prey, he left the dead animal and walked away. I guess he was waiting for when he would be hungry but I was enraged for no apparent reason 😂😂🤣

🤣🤣 You are right! That is another wicked act and cruel to say. He would have just let the animal go in peace when it is not hungry, but I think they don´t eat dead animals already killed, but prefers to eat immediately they are killed because it´s still fresh at that moment.

Yes, I believe so too. They are just sometimes plain wicked 😂😂🤣

I love watching animal documentaries, the tactical ways whereby they launch attacks on one another interest me most times. You will see a lion hiding and suddenly pick a race, pursue another animal, then hunt it down. But not all animals lion can hunt down.

Yes, it always interesting watching them as they attack each other, animals protecting each other and you will be amazed at their actions. Thank you for your comment.

You narrated it so well. It's always interesting to watch animals in the wild. They got tactics too in their games of survival so to speak.

You are right and their lessons relate to life´s experiences of humans. That is why I like them.

Nice! Don't doubt yourself that you didn't narrate it well, it is a very beautiful narrative and it was fun reading this. Lions are generally overpowered when animals come together, I have seen this happen with rhinos, buffalos, elephants and a lot of other big animals, including gorillas

Exactly! Some animals can´t attack the lions even if they are in groups. They would be eaten alive 🤣So, the big ones defend them in groups and I love it that they don´t get afraid but face their opponents. Thank you, Kushy.

I also am fascinated watching how animals live in the wild. You can see there is really a sense of teamwork, and belonging in them.

It is interesting to watch documentaries about animals and come to compare that they may have a certain similarity with what we are.

Exactly the truth. They act as us and that is why we are called the "higher animals".

The meaning of this story is very deep. I can conclude that as a creature created by God, having a mind and brain function is the way to survive, feel pain and happiness, protect and share with family members. life is actually competition and power is the basis of that animal and for humans it is God's role as the giver of the way and the blessing.

Great. Without our mind and brain, we can never survive or feel any belonging with one another just as it is being portrayed in our lives and that of the animals. Thank you, reanbooks

I remember a poet that once said animals practice democracy but people don't. Animals do everything for a positive reason.

Not a very big fan of wildlife documentary but when I used to watch it as a kid, it was interesting. At the end we all have innate emotions instilled in us by nature.

I love watching animal documentary too to see this beautiful creatures, most Especially the kind I've never seen before. So lion are killed too by other animals? I thought they're unlikable as the name implies, "king of the jungle"🥱

They are oo. Why won´t they kill them? 🤣They kill to survive, so other animals must kill their pubs even if they can´t get hold of the bigger ones. Who dares it? Lol

Every thing running on the laws of nature. Wild Hunt & kill is part of it and it keeps balance in ecosystem. Yes we can learn some positive things like focus on target , captured strongly , survival , chasing etc.

I do not watch this kind too because I am a little coward once I see the lions attack their prey. I feel bad for the other animals but what can we do that is the life in the jungle.

Competition is normal in the animal kingdom. They can protect their kind but they can't guarantee that they will live forever together.
