9. Mohegan-Bluffs, Rhode Island

While the neighboring islands of Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard are attracting more attention, Block Island Rhode Island tends to fly under the radar. Happy visitors will find the island with picturesque vistas, high cliffs and historic lighthouses.

This bluff has been eroding away for years and it is still a unique spot to see. Stairs allow you to reach the bottom, and you can walk along the shore to see the entire Bluff. A must stop when in the island. You can walk down the stairs near the lighthouse and there are visuals everywhere!

One of the most beautiful beaches - Mohegan Bluffs. 141 going down may seem a little scary, but a hip burn is well worth every step. Rocks smoothed by ocean waves line the sand, and many visitors have left lumps folded along the shore. They create a real perspective when viewed as a mass sculpture. The beach is without any amenities, but bluffs surround a great place for a walk or swim, exploring the waters that stretch all the way to the end of Long Island.

Ocean views and beautiful sunsets await both the National Hotel and the Spring House Hotel. These seaside buildings are reminiscent of the Victorian era and wonderfully romantic.

10. Watch Hill, Rhode Island

The historic point of Watchtower permeates the Yankee aristocracy and embraces Narragansett Bay. The fact is that you will see that the city has its own lighthouse, which has been operating ships since 1745. The affluent Watch Hill community manages summer crowds of visitors, limiting parking. Once you overcome this obstacle, stop in the city, go to the main beach, also known as the Carousel through the ancient carousel in the center of the village.

The Watch Hill Lighthouse is a beacon that welcome you to the area. You can turn the corner on the water and see the lighthouse over there. You can tour it on land and it has a great vantage point at the end of the cliff.

Amenities in this beautiful location, included in the daily beach fee, give visitors access to locker rooms, showers and toilets. Lockers can be purchased at an additional cost, such as beach umbrellas, chairs and boogie boards.

In the neighborhood, Westerly is often on the list of the 10 best beach towns and has housing, restaurants and ice cream to justify this list. For a balcony with water views, the Pleasant View Inn is a great option with a pool. A little further from the ocean is Breezeway Resort with a very nice pool area and a short walk from the water.
