Have you ever heard people say that life is all about risk? That's right. We make risky decisions every day that we have come to accept as normal. We got so used to it we think that there is no risk involved but when you think deeply you would see that you are taking a chance every day and you didn't know it.
Stepping out of your house every day, what's the probability that most people will get back home that day? Does that mean they have to stay indoors and not step out? What makes them think even staying at home is not as risky as stepping out? You can't know and there is no telling to what can be done or what can happen, we just have to get on with it.
Eating your favourite meal from your favourite restaurant, what makes you think the food was well cooked and you won't react to it later on? There is no telling at all but does that mean you won't eat and pamper yourself a little?
Most people don't like taking risks, no, scratch that, most people don't like taking well-known risks but they have forgotten they are taking risks every single day. Even in this Crypto world we are in, it's all about risks and that's why you see a lot of people tell you "It's not financial advice" because it's a risk and risks comes with consequences sometimes. Sometimes it's a calculated risk worth taking and often times it's a bad move but we keep moving.
Does that mean we have to stop living because we are afraid to take a well-known risk? Courage is not the absence of fear but the presence of it yet the will goes on. Risk is part of life and if you think you can do without it then you are not really living. You can't do without taking risks.
It's even a risk to commit your heart into the hands of another. What makes you think they have vested interest in you as you would have hoped for? You take that risk because you know it's worth taking and yes, it works out for most in the end especially when you have considered some factors. This is why you don't just go deep into any risk without at least making some research. After you have done all you can and you think it's worth taking, give it a shot. It doesn't mean it would always pay off but you can't remain the same person afterwards and that experience is valuable.
I was in a group where they were talking about this Wakanda Token yesterday. Someone suggested people should quickly ape in and buy since it's at a massive dump right now and someone asked people to proceed with caution and that was when things turned out worse as they started firing at each other. Some accused the other guy who raised the caution thing as not being patriotic and it went on and on.
Risk is not what others would take for you. Others might point you in a direction but you have to be the one to walk the whole length of it. What if the token rise again? What if it doesn't rise again? That's the risk... When nothing is certain, that's the risk and why it's called a risk.
Risk is part of life and when I mean life, it cuts across every aspect of our lives even into relationships. I met a wonderful lady on Twitter earlier this year and I patronized her business because she was that good. We got so close until she found herself a boyfriend and she stepped back. If I was certain she would be that way do you think I would forge ahead? That is life because nothing is ever certain but we have to keep moving and doing the best that we can.
A very good friend of mine stepped back from a lady because he felt she wasn't willing to take a risk on him. She was serving in the same state this friend of mine lives in and my friend asked her out. She was willing to consider him but she wasn't sure if she would be able to come back to that same state after service year so she declined.
As fate would have it, after service year, she was retained and my friend saw me talking to her one day and he walked away. He didn't even say hello to her and after I was done speaking with her, I caught up with him and asked what's up. He narrated what happened and how she wasn't willing to take risks with him and now, what she feared didn't happen as she finally came back. My friend was pained 🤣🤣😂😂🤣.
He was willing to take the risk of even the distance with her if she won't be able to come back but she wasn't willing to because she wasn't certain. The thing is we can't be certain with anything in this life. Someone once said, "In this world, nothing is certain except death and taxes". Some even avoid paying taxes.
Some people don't know what they want hence why they don't take risks while some people are scared of failing and that's why they don't take risks. They ask, "What if it doesn't work out?" And I always answer them, "What if it works out?". We never can know until we try, except we don't have true conviction over that thing, anyway.
Sometimes we have that urge, that prompting in our heart but still we always find a reason not to because we are scared and unsure of what to expect. Fear has hindered so many people from attaining success and we can't help but take risks, we just have to do it afraid and learn to keep moving regardless of the success or the failure of it. No experience is a waste where life is concerned.
