Spiritual Exercise.
Image Source. https://www.pexels.com/photo/grayscale-photo-of-people-raising-their-hands-1666816/ Some Bible principles won't make sense to many. It usually won't make sense to the human mind because the things of God usually defy common sense and there is a rich reward for those who have faith to believe in the impossible. God's ways are not your ways and His thoughts are not your thoughts. Just as heaven is higher than the earth so are His ways higher than ours. When we try to wrap our heads around spiritual matters, we can't fully understand them until the results start manifesting. If you are facing a problem, you have two options: You can worship or you can worry. You ask, how would worship solve my problem? Worship is an act of gratitude borne out of faith, telling God indirectly that you know what? This problem is beyond me and I am trusting you to handle it. I am trusting you to give me the wisdom to know what to do quickly so I can do what you want me to do or act the way you want me to act. It's an intentional act of taking your focus off the problem and focusing on God. It's telling God, "I have done all I can, now it's over to you to do all that I can't." Worrying is normal I must say because we are humans after all but when we dwell too long on worrying rather than acting and worshipping or praying to God, it's a sign that we don't have enough faith to move those mountains. When you choose to worry, then I must ask you, how strong is your faith? Never forget you are a child of God first, above anything and you have access to His authority through prayer. So, do not worry for too long, just pray!!! You are not only praying to change God's will but to bring yourself under the authority of His will. We receive instructions and directions when we worship and pray. Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen which means your reality would always be in sharp contrast to the things you are hoping for and praying or worshipping only means you have that assurance in faith that you will get it and you are ready to do what instructions God would drop in your heart to do. When you experience a failure, it should never rob you of the reality of who you are in Christ because when He died on the Cross for you, He dealt with everything in your system – your failure, flaws and faults. Know this - your failure is not final but your salvation is. There would always be troubles in this world and Jesus prepared our minds for this. He said in this world we would have tribulations but we should be of good cheer because we have overcome the world. Our faith has overcome the world and we just need to exercise it. If you are about to make a decision and God’s peace is not in your heart, back up, make that reverse or withdraw from it. There are tiny things we overlook that we shouldn't and that's what the Holy Spirit drops in our hearts. We should never trust that we have everything figured out because we are limited in every way but God can help us and work with our limitations. When peace is the umpire of your life, it will give you the progressive courage to do all He has called you to do. May His peace rule in your heart and mind in Jesus' name, Amen! The event of these past few days made me know that God is indeed a prayer-answering God and I would share the story soon. Just a few lines of prayer to show how much I have faith in His ability and He showed up! He showed up in ways I never imagined even when frustration kicked in and it looks as though I was moving in circles. His love was made perfect in my weakness and He showed why He can influence the hearts of others to favour my righteous cause. Most people would rather worry rather than have a favourable disposition to life. There is nothing your worry can solve. There is nothing you can add with worry. As I said, we can't help but worry but it's more terrible when you dwell on it for too long. Dwelling on it for too long is a way of blocking your eyes from the things you are expected to see. It would limit your view and perception but when you assume a positive mindset through the prayer of faith and praise, you are open to opportunities and you see answers quicker than expected. I am a huge believer in prayer and praise. It's what I cultivate and do because I believe there is a God that listens. The Bible says angels sing day and night praising God. It's a lifestyle in Heaven, so why not give Heavenly experience here on earth? Don't worry your head too much because your worries would limit you and it adds nothing to your life. Why not worship through prayer and praise and then watch how things would turn around. It is a sign of faith and total dependence on God by indirectly telling Him that you know He is the only one that can help you. God is a jealous God. He doesn't want to be an option but the **ONLY ONE**. I shared some part of this article on my Hive account as well. I went a step further with this post. *Thank you for your time.* *My pen doesn't bleed, it speaks. All what you said are so true, worrying will never fix anything, to me worrying when we are in trouble tells God, look, am just a christian but i won't allow you solve this for me. Allow me worry until I fix it with my worries. Just like our earthly, when we first attended adulthood, we felt everything could be fixed by us, so we left our parents with the notion I can fix them, but regardless if I have bigger challenges I will always call home. like wise God. He said in his world I have, given thee power to tread upon serpent and scorpions. I doubt if he meant the physical serpents, it signifies our troubles. And another portion of the bible still raises another point, for those in doubt..the verse said, call upon me, and I will answer thee . what a privilege we have in Christ Jesus..
What a huge privilege we have in Jesus and sadly most people don't even know it. You couldn't have said it any better when you said this: "I am just a christian but I won't allow you solve this for me. Allow me worry until I fix it with my worries." We give God the control and the next minute we take it back because we feel He won't act as fast as we wanted. The God that knows the end from the beginning surely knows what He is doing.
For me, worship is surrendering everything you have and fully trust the Lord for what will happen because you know that He is in control.
Total surrender...that's so true. Looking past your challenges and letting God take the wheel.
Worship is a good sign of human behaviour But please don't expect an immediate answer. Wait patiently and the unexpected happens.
That's the problem...we always want the answer now and on our own terms. We do the because we don't even cultivate that relationship with God until we need something.
He has promised He would never fail. Then why shouldn't we follow Him? When troubles come we worry so much about every single thing. We believe things should always go the way we predicted and most times it turns over into what we least expect. In every failure, there is a beautiful blessing awaiting us because our act of never giving up and continuing praying will bring in laughter and songs of praise. Just like you said: " We should never trust that we have everything figured out because we are limited in every way but God can help us and work with our limitations." Only God is unlimited, His power moves mountains and our faith in Him will bring smiles more than we hoped. I don't know what you are going through or have been through or will go through. But your act of faith will speak for you and your tongue that never ceases in His worship will bring forth His good will to you. I love this two music The first one is by Hillstrong, (Oceans deep). The next is Lord I need you but I have forgotten the name of the singer. But it goes like this: Lord I come, I confess, bowing here, I find my rest Without you, I fall apart, you're the one that guides my heart. Lord, I need you, oh I need you. Every hour I need you My one defense, my righteousness Oh God, how I need you. I also love this one too Taking all I have and now am laying it at your feet, You have every failure God, you'll have every victory. You say I am strong when I can't feel a thing. You say I am strong when I think I am weak. You say I am held when I fall in short. When I don't belong, you say I am yours.
I love that song, "Oceans" and you mentioned my favourite part of Lauren Daigle's song there... You have every failure God and you will have every victory. I always feel that part of the song deeply there. Faith in God cannot put us to shame. We just have to trust God. Thank you for this brilliant comment, dear. I enjoyed it.
Yes, we have to trust in Him and it is a good thing you love those two kinds of music because they are spiritual-minded If you listen with your heart and soul. I am glad you did enjoy it.😚😚😚
I love that....that's the thing with Christian songs...we should listen and let it pour out from out heart and soul.
When I had a lot of worries,I always pray in him and he never fails.though we do not see his answers but he brings us an instrument to have a solutions in every problem we faces everyday.
Yes, He never fails. He always come through. It doesn't have to be how we hoped but He will come through and better too.
As humans we can't help but worry when difficulties arise but just as you said, instead of dwelling in it for too long we can turn that worry to God. The lord Jesus Christ said we need not worry about how we'll be clothed or fed, because our heavenly father knows we have need of these things but we should seek God first and every other thing would be added unto us. Its difficult to sometimes look beyond the current trouble, difficult and pain to seek God first, especially in those moments its human instinct to try and find a solution or a way out of a problem, which is why the habit of seeking and turning to God first in every situation is one that needs to be intentionally learned. I know its not easy though because there have been situations of difficulty and pain and I find myself sometimes being overwhelmed by the situation and turning in circles of worry, complaint and anxiety, and would only later realise that I didn't turn to God as I ought to have done immediately a difficulty comes my way. I guess it is a learning process, one we need to intentionally work at.
Thank you so much for this brilliant contribution. Most people complain and they think they are praying. Most people rant or get worried and they think they have prayed. Praying is looking beyond the current situation and trusting God to get through it. I watched a video today about this comedian; Kevin Hart. He said he was behind on his rent and he has been asking his mum to help him. The mother kept telling him to go and read his Bible. He was so frustrated that he kept disturbing the mother and the mother kept telling him if he has read his Bible. He was about to be served an eviction notice when out of frustration he decided to read his Bible. He opened it and 6 months rent paycheck which his mother had dropped there fell from the Bible. Sometimes we don't know what we can get from God until we go close to Him. We just have to know He is able...more than able to surprise us.
absolutely agree with you, God can surprise us beyond what we can even dream of
Absolutely. He is the God of all flesh and there is absolutely nothing too difficult for Him to do.
Our worship is a weapon, sometimes when we encounter problems and it seems all hopes are lost, we can just praise God. He is always faithful especially to those who serve Him in spirit and in truth. Also, it might look as if the doors of heaven has been shut that God is not ready for us yet but he made all things beautiful at his own time. While we are in a problem, He is there with us. Your write up has a lot of encouragement to the broken hearted and those who have given up on God. Thank you.
Thank you so much dear and I am so happy you love this. Thanks for sharing your contribution to it. You absolutely nailed it.
You are welcome 😊😊😊

Having faith in times like this will go a long way, especially in Nigeria, it's not easy to face a day without thanking God here.
Especially in Nigeria. I like that. We have discouragement every corner. God is the only sanity for us.
Prayer is like a breath of our soul, in this way we can directly connect with God. For me, my life a day isn't doing well without it, and yes it helps me in times of problems. I have heard a line from an author that says, why worry when you pray, turn your worries into praise.
Turn your worries into praise. Prayer is indeed a breath to our soul. We are empty without it. Most people get easily frustrated because they don't understand the power of prayer and praise.
That's true, they even underestimated prayer, and blame the Lord for bad things that happened, that is why if our heart today knows how to praise God, we should take the privilege of coming closer to him.
I absolutely agree. We need to make the most of the privilege to get closer to God.
Why worry when we can actually divert to prayer instead and worship God. Some times, all we need is worshipping Him and having faith that things will be okay. Worry cannot and will never solve your problems, only worship in prayer will.
Worrying cannot solve anything. Most people worry all the time because they haven't built that relationship with God. They think God won't do it so they are seeking alternatives which shouldn't happen. Worshipping, praising or praying is an act of faith on their own. God honours faith.
Worrying will lead to doubting the saving power of God.
This is so true.
God is always a faithful God. He always listen to us when ever we call on him, I love singing worship and praises to him more than praying. I Love this part of the song by Dunsin. First it was fragrance then it's turns to fire, my worship is my weapon that's how I wins my battle.
I love that song too. It says everything about worshipping. Yes, prayer can be a worship too. It doesn't have to be about requests all the time.
There is no other god that is faithful like our God. His constant mercies are new each day.
Absolutely. Every single day.
God is a God of miracles. He can do everything even we thinks it is very impossible. When we have problems, sometimes prayer is the last option but it should be the first. Let's ask the Holy spirit to fill our hearts and minds.
Prayer should always be the first option, that's so true my friend. Prayer should also be about communication and not only request.
Yes but sometimes we tend to forget God when we have problems and come to Him late which is we should need to come him first.
That's what most people do...they come to God as the order of last resort. I always ask people how they would feel when people only come to them when they need something. They said they would feel used and I asked them how they think God would feel as well from human point of view.
Oh that must be a good thoughts to ponder.
Absolutely, my friend. Thank you.
We can worry too.... That's the only thing we can offer to God..our worried and problems..
Yes, we can worry but we don't have to dwell on it. Some worry too much they can't even bring themselves to pray or worship.
Anytime I want God to do something outstanding in my life, I praise Him for that thing. Prayer works for me, but nothing works faster like praising God.
I agree. Praise moves God because He sees we are not making request but simply appreciating Him for what He has done. Thanking Him is an application for the next thing He is about to do.
Amen. All our burdens and worry must be offered to Him. The Bible said, "Cast all your cares to Him as He careth for you.
We need to offer it all to Him as a sign of faith in Him.
