You've Got To Plan, II. I shared the first part of this topic yesterday and here is the second part. You can catch up with the first part here. https://read.cash/@Olasquare/youve-got-to-plan-d2b8d72e
Image Source. https://www.pexels.com/photo/woman-in-blue-blazer-while-standing-3727461/ Planning is important and I don't think we can dispute that, especially with the way the world is going and how resources are limited. One of the mistakes most people make is that they think prayer is planning. Prayer is not planning and I can tell you that we have countries that don't pray as much as we pray in Nigeria but they are succeeding because they have a structure in place; they have a plan and they are working according to that plan. If prayer is planning then I can boast that Nigeria should be the most successful country in the world. We pray too much that we have little or no plan on the ground. We keep asking God to give us what He has given us common sense to solve. Don't get me wrong, prayer is important and good but it can never replace the place of adequate planning. Those who fail to plan would surely plan to fail, that's how the adage goes. With the resources we have in Nigeria, if only we have the right structure and plan in place, we would not have any problem competing with the best in the world. We pray so much but act very little. If only we can act more then the prayer we pray would hold more power because we have a wide range of things to pray about due to the issues we have on the ground and that's why our prayers are lengthy. Someone joked after travelling out of the country that he no longer have to pray for light or good roads and other basic amenities and his prayer has been narrowed down. Nothing is worth starting without a plan and you need prayer to have the strength and gain the direction you need to go but prayers won't be the one you should substitute for what you need to do. It's like a student hoping to succeed in an examination. If he or she has no plan to study and put in the effort, there is no amount of prayer he or she prays that would work. God is not a magician, He is never dishonest and He understands the process too. When He was creating the earth, there was a plan in place and he followed through with His plans. Imagine if you decide to build a house without putting a building plan in place. How do you work to perfection when you don't have a structure on how you want things to look? Having a plan is to have a picture of the future that you can work towards. It would also be useless when we don't work in line with the plan. The issue is that we leave a lot to chance in this part of the world. We keep saying what would be would be, forgetting that what would be can be birthed by our intentional actions too. No one ever succeeds by waiting or leaving things to chance. When the chance doesn't come, think on your feet and make a chance **happen**. God answer prayers, yes but humans answers to planning. If you want to draw up a good plan you need to be able to reason. Never substitute your ability to reason for prayer. God gave us a mind so we can allow Him to rest. We need to elevate our reasoning ability and God gave us the ability to reason for a reason (see what I did there? Hahaha).
Image Source. https://www.pexels.com/photo/grayscale-photo-of-man-1181366/ You can't draw up a good plan if you lack access to information. We all need to develop a hunger for success and we can't reason more than the knowledge we have at our disposal. You can't plan more than the information you have at your disposal so we need to thirst for knowledge...seek information so you can draw up better plans. We need to trade available time for knowledge and resources. You will get more value for your time by reading. Investment in knowledge means you are paying yourself for the future but the sad reality is most people won't even read. They want to eat their cake and have it but the world doesn't work that way. There would always be distractions but we need to learn how to separate ourselves from the crowd. Spending time alone to reflect helps a great deal and allows us to make informed decisions. Success is a matter of luck if only you ask the failure. Most people won't plan because they are always waiting for others to help them. They keep thinking and living in fear of where support would come from rather than trying. Regardless of who you know and who you don't know, still, plan. Most people don't have the needed mentality to go through with their plans. Just as we have those with a weak mentality, we also have those who are lazy to do anything and they would rather compare themselves to others. Stop comparing yourself with others. Look at your own life and start planning. Lazy people miss a great flight in their lives. Everything is the fault of others but they won't take responsibility for their actions. If we lack value for time we cannot plan. We have to learn how to redeem the time and make every moment count. Those who waste an hour in the morning might search for it the whole day and not find it. Discipline is everything in life and a lack of discipline to go through with your plans would make your plans fail. *Thank you for your time.* *My pen doesn't bleed, it speaks. I am very happy to get the rest of yesterday's article today. In this article and yesterday's article, you have beautifully explained about planning. Articles on planning If we can all better master ourselves, that's how our people should plan for us. I can understand very well. All the members of our platform will understand very well that you have expressed your comments very seriously in this family of ours, especially I like it very much and I am inspired. In my yesterday's post, I wrote an article about my plan, talked about my plan dreams there and asked for the opinion of all my friends, whether my plan is actually going to the right stage. Of course I have the right to express everyone's opinion from this family.
Planning is everything. We have to be detailed and intentional about it. I am always happy to read your comments. Thank you.
I missed the first part of the article, this second part has moved me to check what you have shared in the part 1. Life could be tricky sometimes that it alters every plan we make. From what i just said, planning is good but it doesn't give full assurance that we are going to get what we planned for. It's a 50/50 thing, it just show us the bigger chance that we can achieve what we are looking for if we work towards it. That not withstanding, every task or journey that we embark on we must plan.
Glad to have you here. Indeed, any plan we want to embark on, we must plan it. It gets us prepared and shows our determination not to leave anything to chance.
To dare is to Do. Now, there isn't a word truer than that. Most people fail to dare - plan in this case, because they have stalled on the notion of leaving everything in the hands of a "higher power". Your Article yesterday gave me a moment to think about many things, generally. If the problems bedeviling the country is to be solved we should learn to discard that preconceived notion and dare to plan for a much preferred future in order to succeed. Thank you once again good sir.
Thank you for your deep understanding of this. Yes, we leave everything to God whereas He has given us the wisdom to do what we have to do. We need to plan. There is a quote that says, "Keep calling on God but keep rowing to the shore."
Funny enough, I've seen churches that organises alnight church programs for students writting exam the day. The prayer will be like " let God touch the heart of the lecturer to give them favour when marking". Church alnight to an exam day... totally wrong.🤗
Hahaha. I am not even against praying but you have to plan and do your part. God will always send the rain but we are the ones to prepare our fields.
Think! Rise up! And start... If you've started before, start afresh or continue from where you stopped... I'm too lazy, this article was moving. Life is hard because we made it so when we decided to settle for less. You're right... It's out there, we are just too lazy to get up, fight and work for it. We believe praying would swing God into action... We believe in so much miracle alerts. Lol, Nigerians!!!
Ah. Miracle alerts. You hit it right there hahaha. Most people just want to wake up one day and check their phones to see millions or check under their beds and see "Ghana Must Go" bags filled with dollars. God can do it but He won't. He builds character first because He won't give us what we can't handle.
Depending too much on prayer without putting effort into plans is one of the problems why poverty keeps soaring high in Nigeria. A miracle happens though but the Lord said that I will bless the work of thy hands. Like I said yesterday, planning is a crucial stage in making any dream come to reality.
Exactly. Miracles happen but most people want magic. They want to fold their hands and do nothing. It doesn't work that way.
Do you best and let God do the rest. That is was supposed to be, hehe. You are right, praying without working what we are praying for was indeed useless😂. In that case what we are aking to God is not to grant our heart desires but miracle😂. This is like how other people complain how hard they life is but not doing anything to make it better.
😂😂🤣🤣😂 that's humans for you. All we do is complain yet we won't do what's necessary.
Haha exactly! Nothing will happen if we wont work for it
Absolutely, my friend.
Ola i was just curious, how tall you are.?
Which of the length... sorry...height do you need? 😂😂
Haha silly, yeah of course height 😂. Why I would ask for a length😂 Just curious , cause I know some Nigerian here who are so tall. Like 6foot and up.
For curiousity, you might want to ask for length because Nigerians seem to be blessed in that region hahaha. I am 5'7... not up to 6.
haha I was just curious about the height. and what region is that Nigerians are blessed?
Ah. Length and humour plus hard work 😍
Ahh length? I am thinking it right? Let me check it at google😂
😂😂🤣🤣😂😂
I just ask for the height Ola, but you gave me something to think of. hahaha
What are friends for? 😂😂🤣
Hahha yeah, and I checked it at google😂 Congrats for being blessed😂
😂😂😂😂🤣 did you see vivid images too?
haha no I haven't.
It's good to back up what you read with visual representation 😂🤣
hahah there is no visual presentation Ola. what I had found it just a list, ahmm like sizes per countries. OMG! haha
🤣🤣🤣😂🤣🤣🤣😂
and I deleted the search history in my laptop after. hahahah
Ouch. 😂😂😂🤣...
If we look at in the Bible,God is also an good planner when he instruct noah to built the ark,all the measurements that he has given to him was very specific.Thats why as human,we are also need to plan in every decision and ventures in our life.We should not do things hurriedly .
I love that example. Yes, God is a good planner and always detailed too. See what He also told Solomon regarding the building of the temple. Very detailed.
Ola, you would make a great leader.
I feel honoured. Thank you, my friend.
Plan, I do always have but because of my fear ny plan won't happen as I'm afraid to try and fail.
Fear is a great threat to so many plans. It's better to try and fail rather than not try at all and live in regrets. Do it afraid, my friend. You have to try.
Indeed I truly believe that prayer isn't a plan, but a strength to make our plan's succeeded. In order to succeed in life we have to make a plan then, action then do a prayer that may God grant us his guidance and let us do it successfully by our own power and ability. Then followed with our consistency. Being consistent and focus with the plan's we made, then there's no distractions. As we are eager to succeed with what we have draw in our plans we have to believe in our actions. 😅.
Thank you for this, my friend. Indeed, prayer gives strength and we have to follow with consistency and making efforts. Most people just stop at prayer and expect magic to happen.
Lack of planning is the reason why most leaders fail to take the country to the next leave(promised land) despite having all the resources needed to develop the country. Lack of planning is also the reason why some rich men become what they are today (poor) due to the way they spend. The same lack of planning makes some students perform poorly in their examinations. For everything, we intend to do in life if we need to make a plan, to avoid ending up losing.
Exactly. We have all the resources in Nigeria and yet we are not even making use of them yet we keep lamenting and borrowing money from foreign countries. Lack of planning and foresight is what's keeping us on the low in Nigeria.
Sime days ago, a friend mentioned that if the whites left everything to God the way we leave things to God in Africa, then there would be no phones , TV sets and vehicles. 😆
Hahahahaha I have to totally agree with that. We are dulling our creativity when we should be harnessing it.
"Heaven helps those who help themselves" - self-help. I don't know if prayer can ever be said to be too much, but the reliance of many Nigerians on prayers alone is troubling. We have to do our part (learn, plan and patiently/consistently implement) and then we can leave the rest to God in prayer. God blesses the works of our hands not the words of our lips. Selah.
That's it. Reliance alone on prayer is what's killing us. We leave too many things to chance and no nation can move forward that way. Imagine praying to win a match and you didn't train. Let the team that train offer no prayer, they would still win because they subjected themselves to process and planning.
Who wants to go through the process when there is a miracle... It's praying and work or work and pray. Not pray and wait... We are the most religious and yet the most corrupt.
😂😂😂😂🤣🤣 I love how you ended this brilliant comment.
