One of my many ways and probably the favourite for describing life is "Funny". You know when you get to the point where you don't understand something you can't help but laugh because the moment you think you got a hang over what life truly is all about, you will be treated to another shock of what you didn't expect. When you think you have exhausted and built yourself up for the shock ahead, life has this humourous way of mocking us - a clear indication that life is funny and little things matter.
There are so many little things about life we might never understand and when we do, you can expect more to come. While growing up they used to tell us education is the most important thing to success but they didn't tell us which kind of education because there are so many who didn't learn the formal education and they are successful but we were told that formal education is the only way to go. Yes, it is good but it is not a guarantee for success and that's my point here.
Life teaches too and those who are able to go through life's education also come out successful. I've seen someone get a job not because of formal education but due to life's education; patience. They had a whole lot of people available for the job and some made out time just to be there but they were delayed for several hours as the company were in a meeting. A lot of people left angrily and one man was just there, pacing down the hallway...because he was tired of sitting down and had to stretch his legs a little. When they were done with the meeting, they came out and he was the only one left.
The woman said she is sure that the others would come again tomorrow but she has made her decision. She said she would give the contract to this man because he was patient and that's how he got it. It was a lot of money many years ago back then. I think it was around 2 million Naira (roughly $5,000 then)
Another one that was like the first story made me understand that life can come in different ways to test us and we have to be ready. Our attitude to things would determine how serious we needed what we said we wanted.
An interview was scheduled for several candidates and there was this office lounge they were expected to be seated while being called upon by the interviewers. It was a very big open space but in the office and roughly 15 candidates were waiting with their CVs with their bags and folders clinging to their chests.
In that open office space that was enclosed, they dropped a lot of fruits there, with assorted biscuits, groundnuts and many other things that can make you past time easily and of course, there were newspapers there too.
Before they even called them in, it took as long as 3 hours if not more. The candidates all sat down there, trying to compose themselves in the first hour and when they noticed they weren't called upon, they started descending on the item's right in front of them. They kept eating while allowing the time to pass over.
In the 2nd hour of their waiting, some were already grumbling while some were cursing out the company, some left angrily while some were busy packing the biscuits and other times on the table into their bags. There was one man who kept reading the newspaper the whole time. He kept reading from one newspaper to another, quiet...in his corner.
After a long time, they came around and apologized for keeping them waiting. They made the rest that remained know that it was a deliberate act to see how they would respond and they showed them where the CCTV camera was as they were watching them the whole time. Those who already knew they had stuff stolen in their bags, voluntarily left before they were called out and those who already cursed the company out took the same route and they were left with just 3 of them from a total of 15, including the guy reading the newspapers the whole time.
This is why I always say that when opportunities meet readiness then success is inevitable. Life is funny and you won't even expect your test or breakthrough to come in certain ways. Life is unpredictable but that doesn't mean we won't do our part. Life would humble you, break you and even teach you harsh lessons.
You might never be able to explain why some things happen but you can just allow life to be lived while you keep seeking ways to do better. There are some things in life that we don't have control over but the ones we can control and influence, it is better we do our best to keep our lives on track. We don't have to be a secondary character in our life's story. We should be able to dictate the narrative of our lives and in what direction we want our life to go. We have to stop leaving things to chance because as humourous as life is, it can mess us up.

Two great an amazing examples of how life could treat us. Haha. Life is cool and amazing 🤩 like it is said that life is a bed full of roses and thorns
In summary, I would say everything we do surely has it own reward
