Yesterday, we had our thanksgiving at church. We are not that many but it is not about the quantity. As long as there are few who sincerely praises Him, He would be at the center in the midst of us. On our usual sunday meetings, we are like a type of exam, the seating arrangement is like one-seat apart. We practice social distancing even before the pandemic because the church's area is big and we were only few.
But yesterday we managed to invite some of our neighbors and friends including pastors, youth and members of other church. We have been preparing for the activity for a month. Dividing all the tasks that needs to be done and most especially prepping ourselves and our resources to be given back as a way of our thanksgiving for the whole year.
We invited a pastor from our sister church that would speak to us about His goodness. The activity is like an evangelistic crusade too because we invited non-believers for them to at least hear God's word. Personally, I'm happy with how they responded. They seemed moved. I know it was all of the Holy Spirit's works. I just hope that the seed that is planted in their hearts would slowly bud and grow over time. And that they will hunger for God's word and they will long to live in His presence.
I'm also happy for my fellow youth. I know that they were busy with their modules and I usually get disappointed with them at times because they don't act accordingly. But yesterday, they were able to carry out all the tasks that are entrusted to them. I was astonished when I saw that they became responsible and mature even just for a day.
They also took the responsibility to decorate the stage and clean the church with the help of some other women.
I wasn't able to take a lot of photos all through out the activity because my niece keeps on dragging me everywhere. She was not in the mood and so we weren't able to join in the feast and eat.
But, we prepared a sumptuous feast for our visitors and for everyone who would passed by the street.
There was also an exchanging of gifts among the members and it was a good time to bond and talk with other people.
We were just elated that the covid cases in our area subsided and that we were able to held such activity and gather people together.
For our next thanksgiving, we planned to hold it in the gymnasium so that there would be a much bigger space and that we would be able to cater a greater number of people.
That's all for today read-friends! How about you? How did your weekend went?
Thank you for reading and until next time!
ang saya sa inyo noh, Happy thanksgiving!
