How to Deal With Rejection
April 21, 2022
It is almost May but here I am sharing with you a meme for March that has been in my gallery for God knows how long.
The accuracy would probably make you nod your head and laugh but we all know behind those laughs are disappointments. To whom are we disappointed? To the current events in our society today? Or to the leaders who are poorly managing the mitigation of covid cases?
Anyway, that is not my topic today. I'm here with you to share some useful tips on how to deal with rejection.
We can't avoid being rejected every day in our lives. Our thesis papers or ideas can be rejected by our professors. Our love can be rejected by our crush. Our efforts can sometimes be put to waste which would lead us to feel rejected. These are just a few of the many things that could probably destroy one's confidence if not handled properly.
So, here are tips on how to deal with rejection for you to be reminded of for future references.
Don't quit because the next big thing might be waiting just around the corner.
The journey to success is never all about roses and everything nice. At some point in the journey, there will always be depressing times. Times wherein we ask ourselves if these dreams are still worth it to fight for. these factors would influence us to give up. It could be our stress towards working for that dream or the lack of motivation. But remember to never give in to the temptation of giving up. Always bear in mind that there is something for you waiting at the next end. Just be a little patient and be grateful for the process while you're at it.
Appreciate the wins in your life.
Instead of overthinking about your next move in life. Go on thanking and counting how far you have gone through. It would be nice to celebrate small wins. Acknowledge yourself and your effort. Reward yourself. Each accomplishment is worth noting. Whenever you feel like you are rejected by someone, look back on your winning moments. Rekindle it and remember that being rejected is not at all bad. It is a sign for you to improvise and be better. Stop sabotaging yourself and start practicing the attitude of gratitude.
Nudge off the negative vibes and protect your peace.
The last thing we need is a negative aura. Stay away from people who don't have the same goal as you. Be with people who inspire you to innovate. Be choosy with who you let into your circle. Be at peace with yourself and start loving your own company. Cut off negative people with issues. Protect your peace at all costs.
These tips are from Mia Manansala, author of Arsenic and Adobo. She went from being told she had no audience and nobody would ever want her books to 'your book is the exact book we started this imprint for, we can’t wait.'
Isn't it amazing? So to you who are on the verge of giving up, please hold on for a little while and wait for that next big thing. It will surely come before you know it. Be ready to enjoy the process.
