Last night, for the first time in a year, I was able to watch an episode of MMK- Maala-ala Mo Kaya.
I remember we used to guess the title of the episode. We would use the random things that the actors use to be our title. Together with my mother and sister, we would list the possible titles then after the episode, the title will be flashed on the screen. There is no reward for the winner but there is a consequence for the one who will have a wrong guess. She would have to washed the dishes we used for dinner.lol
Last night's episode was about a woman who has mental illness called Schizophrenia. I have heard about it before but I didn't know that it was that difficult to be diagnosed by that illness. Though, I wasn't able to watch the episode from the very start, I got teary-eyed because of the storyline and I admit the actress who portrayed the role of the main character was great. She cried frantically when she got tantrums.
The woman came from a family who can provide for their needs and send them to school. The woman was taking up zoology as her course but later on, she asked her dad if she can shift to accounting because she said that is where her heart is. But her dad didn't permit her.
Fast forward, the woman was able to get a job even with her condition. Her life went well because she wouldn't have hallucinations if she is busy with work but her mother died which eventually affects her condition. She went home and live with her elder sister who is a teacher.
Her sister became her rock. Her sister's voice was her only medicine when she was attacked by the lies of the demons she heard when she had hallucinations. Her sister became her feet too when she was too weak to lift her body because the other side was stroke. Of course, being in that kind of situation, she also questioned God but her sister consoled her and stood by her even if she keeps on shooing her sister away. Her sister wasn't able to have her own family and even missed the opportunity to become a school principal because she chose to take care of her younger sister.
I was amazed at the sister's selfless love. She had stood up as a parent and a sister to her younger sibling that needs a lot of care. You see, not all siblings are like that. The older sister could just move on, have her own family, be a principal and leave her younger sister alone but she didn't do that.
There are siblings nowadays that can't even beep each other because of arguments regarding the properties left by their parents. Perhaps being busy with each of their lives or they just don't care about each other anymore.
Their parents really did a good job of instilling right values in them because eventhough the parents were long gone, the bond of siblings is still there. They care for each other and they got each other's back which is what matters the most in this world.
How about you? What inspired you today?
Until then!

Iniisip ko kung anong MMK yun. Una akala ko yung kay Zanjoe kasi para din siyang may hallucinations nun. Anong title? Sino gumanap?
