Daily Mental Health Boosts
September 16, 2022
Thank God It's Friday Friends!
I'm lost for words and I don't have a particular topic to write for today. However, I chose to click the app open and greet you at the start of the article.
Aha. My mind instantly reminded me of a Facebook post I happen to share years ago. It appeared on my Facebook memories. It's timely and relevant for students and employees. There are eight daily mental health boosts indicated on the posts. These serve as reminders that no matter how busy we get, we should
Sleep is a priority.
No matter how we fantasise about multi-tasking, overtime work and being night owls, sleep remains the basic necessity of the body. I have read somewhere that being productive at night is only an illusion our brain feeds us. It isn't true. The truth is the brain eventually tires and whether we admit it or not, we badly need a night's sleep of eight to ten hours. By then, our neurons should start regenerating, if we refuse to doze off, there's a tendency to suffer diseases shortly.
Having a good night's sleep is helpful. It boosts productivity and it dictates the mood we have for the next day. The less amount of sleep we get at night, the grumpier we will be.
Ground Yourself
This is subjective. How do you ground yourself? What does 'grounding oneself' even mean? Stay connected with yourself. Live in the moment. Do the things that reconnect you with your soul. Breath. Adjust your focus. Get a different perspective.
5 Minutes Outside
Run free outside. Get some sun. Feel the air and the heat and the mist. Nature is the best comfort, therapy and relaxation. No, what ifs, no buts. Proven and tested.
Celebrate the Little Wins
Of course, little wins are still victories. Hard work and efforts should be rewarded to be more motivated to work the next time. It's always worth it to note small achievements and humble beginnings.
Water Yourself Like a Pretty Flower
Start romanticizing your life. Live the best life. Strive to get the best. Comfort yourself more and prioritize your feelings, feed your soul, and give in to your craving. Spoil yourself. Get that self-improvement perspective. Struve for excellence. Bloom and don't ever think of withering.
Nourish Your Soul
Don't forget to work on your soul. Reconnect, meditate and reflect. Cling to what is good and striving for the best. Always be in the quest for excellence and put a premium on growth and development.
