Not All Pranks are Funny.
“Mag outfit ka ng MUSLIM tapos mambato ka ng backpack kunwari bomba!”
Ramadhan 1443 just ended and this is how "Tukomi" joins us in our sacred festivity.
Sa totoo lang nakakapagod mag-paliwanag especially when it's just the same explanation to carry again and again. I know ahead that this will earn uproar from the Muslim communities. But I say this with a sincere heart — I truly wish to share a table with these guys where we can drink dalgona coffee and tell them my own story of gratitude from being born and raised as a Muslim
I appreciate and fall in love with our faith-based culture every single day. And I am more than gifted to know the TRUE PRACTICES of this religion because we are taught about it everyday. I don’t recall my teachers in Islamic knowledge telling us that we can start a fight – tabo.
Half of my heart wants to let the abhorrence against this act be out to the open. But in Islam, we are not allowed to get angry. We are also taught by this religion (which you think is terroristic) to give everyone the benefit of the doubt, including the radical non-Muslims. But truth be told, the demonstrations in the video pose insult and discrimination not only against us from Muslim Mindanao but, by extension, against all Muslim communitie.
I truly wish I can invite their (Tukomi) attention to how we preserve our women, how we love our parents, respect our non-Muslim neighbors, be good and sweet to our spouses, and love for our brothers what we love for ourselves. Because the framework of Islam that we know is about love and peace. I also wish I can tell them that we can only hate greed and jealousy of our own. As such, Islam is far beyond what you just hear about it.
I am not sure about what drove them on doing this but if it isn’t to inspire hate and unsubstantiated fear against the Muslims, what is? The video had no end in mind except to inspire Islamophobia and sustain ignorance to the non-Muslim communities just the way the mainstream media emptied a lot of minds. It opened wounds and freshened up bruises of those who felt the bigotry firsthand. Indeed, people will fear what they don’t understan
I am a Muslim and I don't make bombs; I am against violence.

MY OWN THOUGHTS
I already seen the Video on TikTok and if I am a Muslim I would still feel insulted, because as what the video want yo deliver. It says like that Muslims are terrorist and they non-muslim or Christians afraid to them because they are the one bring chaos. But, actually they aren't. I am also dismayed regarding the video because it is really a insult to my Muslim friends. Even though I am not a muslim but I have a big respect to all the Muslim.
As what I have see, Muslims are more religious than Catholics and other sector of religion. They are more Faith to their God, which is Allah. Their fasting was recently done, imagine they finished the fasting and really disciplined their selves not to eat instead follow the rules, which is an act to praise and worship God.
I do hope and pray that, that kind of video or a prank will never did again. Yes, Pranks can bring smile and laugh to our viewers, but we must think thousand times that your pranks will not be an insult to many people or hurt someones feeling. We must be responsible to our act because we are all human and we need humanity.
