You know social media had really changed the way businesses advertise products these days. One of the things that we consumers would look into when we see products posted online are for sure the comments, feedback, real messages, real reactions from the previous customers, that's why if there are many positive reactions, five-star ratings, and such, more and more customers are getting interested with it.
I was scrolling on Facebook one day last week, I noticed a targeted advertisement that has been popping on my timeline for some time already. The feed showed purple food and seeing it as purple, I had the impression that it is about Ube Halaya, they were in glasses but there's one interesting part of the photo - a purple tub they refer to as Ubeporado.
At first, I just skipped it but after many of its photos showed up, my curiosity made me click on the ads. I learned that the one in a tub is an Ube Champorado which the seller refers to as Ubeporado and boy, the feedbacks are quite interesting, looking at the products, my not-so-hungry stomach begins to crave for it.
But I didn't fall into it immediately, I started scrolling on their Facebook page. They are a delivery and pickup service as of the meantime. They are proud of their Ube Halaya products but the Ubeporado had surprised the tastebuds of Cebuanos that the comments on their posts are mostly about the champorado.
I can't miss this product. I have been scrolling, reading comments, clicking on photos, and sure do, my husband noticed it. He then whispered in my ears, "i-add to cart na yan!" with a smile. I told him I surely will with his permission. And he nodded so I messaged the seller immediately asking if they deliver in our area.
Surprisingly, even at nine in the evening, the customer service, not automated, by the way, replied. I was amazed! Well, I thought, of course, they need to be responsive because they are offering food!
Our conversation didn't take a long time. We agreed immediately that they send me a 1 kg Ubeporado at their earliest delivery time which is at nine in the morning the next day. They open at nine and so their first batch of deliveries happen at the same time.
I was excited, I sent the payment immediately, which was Php 249 for a kilo of champorado. Is it expensive for a champorado? I think so, I can make my champorado at home with just leftover rice and some blocks of pure tableya which will only cost me a few pesos but this one is Ube and Ube Halaya is expensive, I think.
Ube or purple means royalty, right?
Anyway, the next day, the customer service messaged me at 8:50 AM about my order and said it is already ready for pickup, they are just waiting for my Lalamove driver. That's ten minutes earlier than the specified time and so I appreciated their promptness.
I waited, they sent me a link to track my Ubeporado! It gets exciting each time I open the link and see that the driver's almost here! My husband and I had plans to go to Busay that morning too so it was the only thing that we were waiting for at that time.
By 9:30, the driver arrived and I held the hot Ubeporado. I had to take photos first and send them to the seller to let them know I already received them.
Unfortunately, I can't eat it right now, aside from its hot and I don't want to hurt my tongue, we were still about to go so I just brought with me a spoon and brought it with us.
As we were about to reach our destination which was Serenity Farm and Resort in Busay, I decided to eat it. I wished they had included a spoon though.
The purple bucket was still warm, I gave Matti to my husband as I started scooping the almost sticky rice porridge and putting them into my mouth. Oh my, I thought this was really good! I found myself putting in the spoon again and again from the tub to my mouth. I can't explain it but I love the flavor, its sweetness was just right, I can surely think of it as a dessert!
I shared the goodness with my husband and he approved. He was laughing saying my craving has been fulfilled now and I thanked him for pushing me to order it. I didn't regret and this was an expectation versus reality-met situation.
Matti didn't open his mouth when I offered it to him that time but I didn't eat everything, I left some for him to try once we reach home.
After lunch at Serenity Mountain Cafe, part of Serenity Farm and Resort, I offered it to Matti. This time, he ate and was surprised! He loved it he kept on coming back!
So I messaged the seller that we all love the product. I believe it's a great innovation from our usual champorado. They made it look interesting and anyone who will try it will surely say that they made it pretty well.
I will surely be ordering again as soon as we reach the city! Very recommendable and I will also be ordering their Ube Halaya too!
And yes, they asked for my permission that my feedback be posted on their social media page too:
