Smooth Cafe Offers Huge Servings You Won't Regret Dining!
Before April Fool's Day, my small family went on a road trip taking the route from Cebu City to Busay, we had a stopover at Charlie's Cup then to Balamban, down to Toledo, and then straight ahead to Barili. We pulled over for lunch at Barili Milk Station and then we continued our journey to Moalboal.

I booked an airconditioned room at Beyond Island Moalboal which was along Panagsama Beach. Read here: Our Home in Moalboal for a Night
On that same day, we witnessed a beautiful sunset together with my baby boy. And then headed to Smooth Cafe for dinner!
Prior to arriving at Moalboal, I looked for recommendations online on where to dine in and what specific cafes offer great food with good reviews. I stumbled upon Smooth Cafe and it was just around the corner from Beyond Island so it was easy to spot it when we were walking toward the beach.
As soon as the sun had set and the darkness came, we went on our way to Smooth Cafe. The cafe lights were on, there were nomads on their laptops and coffee cups on their tabletops. A few motorcycles were parked at the entrance, no problem though as it was easy to get in between them. I went inside and decided to order what the blog I read earlier recommended Chicken Shawarma wrap!
This industrial style can totally level up your social media accounts guys, the ceiling looks neat! The lights and ambiance are well thought of and they got a garden area with a relaxing atmosphere plus a bar! So to summarize, here are the things that you can check out at Smooth Cafe:
☕️ good sourced coffee which are locally sourced
🍃 alfresco dining spot
🎨 instagramworthy walls
💻 strong wifi connection with co-working spaces too
🍳 breakfast menu with huge servings
🍹 Bar
My husband and I opted at the table near the bar, we have a baby and so we decided to go over to where there were lesser people. The kitchen was just nearby too so it was aromatic here with all that the chefs and cooks were preparing.
They got a good internet connection here, I can see that in Panagsama area, they got fiber internet connections available which explains why the internet speed here is just fast. While it is not available in the rest of the areas in Moalboal. So, if you are going to Moalboal as a nomad, make sure to book a place near Panagsama instead.
As mentioned above, the Smooth Cafe offers coworking spaces too! This is perfect for those who are working from home or maybe those who need office space while in Moalboal. They have dedicated tables and chairs, storage areas, meeting room too I heard, and of course, the connection is stable here.
I went to see what it looks like and I super adore these pothos plants with dedicated stairs for the plant to climb, it looks cool!
The pathway is covered with rocks and there are plants too at the side. The glass walls make it possible for natural light to come into the room. This is airconditioned by the way so there's no issue working in the middle of the day.
Did I mention that there's a huge mural behind our table? It looks great and they uniquely installed a metal frame in it. Also, I love the tables, they were all made of wood. It didn't take long before our orders arrived. My husband was still able to work a bit on his laptop before both our orders were served. But of course, it was challenging to work with a baby in your arms.
The chicken shawarma wrap was indeed huge, their servings won't disappoint! I can't help but compare our dining experience here to that in Charlie's Cup where our Php 250 was just a small bowl of rice and a few counted pieces of spam, cucumber, and tomatoes. I appreciate that the money we paid for this meal here in Smooth Cafe was really filling and satisfying.
I am glad we had dinner here, both the breaded chicken and the shawarma wrap made us full. I believe that if we would visit Moalboal again next time, we will have breakfast here and try their complete breakfast set. It includes their deluxe breakfast offers: Bacon, egg, Lettuce, Onion, Tomatoes, Hash-brown, Sausage, and bun. Plus, I have to try their locally sourced coffee too!
Before I close this blog, I have to mention too that the cafe has live bands happening almost every day during their happy hours between 4 PM - 6 PM. You can check their social media accounts for updates on the schedule.
Thanks a lot for reading this blog! If you happen to visit Moalboal, don't miss to check out Smooth Cafe before or after a long day at the beach!
