Independence Day and Neighbor's Singing Our Loud
Writing this with an annoying neighbor singing. Annoyed because their microphone is defective and their volume was too loud that my baby kept turning here and there whenever the microphone was echoing.
The case is that this happens almost every single day. Our neighbor has a Karaoke machine and every day, someone inserts five peso coins to sing their favorite songs. None of them are really good at singing, but Filipinos as usual love to sing so you'll imagine how this has been our struggle. I would often pray that they'll start singing after three in the afternoon so that my baby could get a good sleep before he'll be awakened by their bad singing.
Anyway, I can't complain though, my father already made our firewall be taller so the sounds won't be too loud but after Odette, since the neighbor's small hut where the Karaoke machine was located was damaged, he moved the machine in front of our room. It's just too noisy and the defective microphone has been a pain.
My mother already told the neighbor about it but he didn't do anything. He's a senior and so we just let him be, it's his past time and he has no other things to do as a pensioner, it is what makes him happy so we just let him be and just adjusted ourselves. Most of the time, we will just laugh about it and try to sing with them instead.
Anyway, Independence Day happens to be on a Sunday. If I am still working right now, I'd be sad that this isn't a weekday.
I recalled I had created a calligraphy piece a few years back when I still had a lot of time making calligraphy especially digital ones because they are easy and it just requires me to use the Apple pencil.
I took this photo of a flag in the capitol area and then added this calligraphy using some free Procreate brushes.
I wonder if we are still paying tribute to this event? I remember before, whenever it's fast approaching, the roads are filled with Philippine flags, the home owners would put up cloth flags too. Riders will be putting up flags too on their side mirrors, and even in schools, there will be activities which are for this day's celebration.
That day, I have not seen a single house or motorcycle or even car with a Philippine flag, it was just a normal day, I even forgot about it in the morning because it's a church day and it is always busy as we prepare breakfast as early as possible and of course having kids at home, it is more tedious to get ready.
My husband was part of the worship team this Sunday and so he had to be early to church. However, my baby woke up very late. He was still sleeping when the husband went to church, so Matti and I arrived late, the praise and worship had already started in fact and Matti didn't take a bath, gladly, I bathed him the night before.
So, by the afternoon, aside from listening to our neighbors singing, I tried to also put our laundry in the washing machine and try to get things done while Matti was playing with his father.
I asked the husband if we could get to the beach but then my cousin who came from Manila arrived and so we just ended up talking and catching up. I got some pop corns into the oven and ate them as snacks.
How did your Sunday go guys? I hope it's productive!
