Bohol Bound Diaries

Hey guys! It's quite amazing how we can move from one place to another in just a few minutes. I tried imagining how our ancestors were bounded to just stay in one place because modes of transportation were still limited.

Today, we can go from one island to another in just an hour or less. We have many options, we can travel by boat, or by air. We can go take the public vehicles or bring our cars and drive. It's truly a blessing to live in this generation and age where everything seemed to be achievable.

I have this thought tonight as I was thinking and evaluating how my day went yesterday. Let me share with you how our day went.

We stayed in Cebu for more than three months! It's amazing! And the time to go back to Bohol came. My husband set the alarm at four in the morning but he woke up earlier. I was awakened by the alarm but Matti wasn't so I spent the next hour just packing up the rest of the things which I wasn't able to pack the day before - Matti's toys.

By quarter to six, we were at the Cebu City port, my husband was getting our tickets and paid for the bill of lading. It didn't take long and he was back, we headed to 7/11 for our breakfast and coffee. There's no other fast food nearby. I bought sisig, ginaling, and nuggets, plus coffee of course. We ate inside the car as we parked while waiting for the staff to call us for boarding.

We were boarding FastCat which will take us to Bohol in just one and half hours via Tubigon.

The cars next to us started moving and so we did too. We were on a video call with the mother-in-law in Oslob and so we let them watch as we went into the boat. it was fun hearing the reactions from the kids back there, they have not to ride a ship yet so they were astonished!

The barge ship had a 30-minute late departure. It was already eight in the morning when it sailed, we passed by the CCLEX, this time we were under it.

From where we were sitting, we watched Cebu's infrastructure from the windows. We saw SM Seaside, NUSTAR, and Il Corso. And then after a few minutes, we saw nothing but the blue horizons, the clouds, and the waters.

It was nice that the water was very calm! The seats inside FastCat is much more comfortable! It even have a tray like those in the airplanes!

Matti slept in the middle of the trip after breastfeeding. We reached Tubigon port almost two hours after and we hopped out of the barge.

It was time for another hour of a road trip to Tagbilaran City. We have a family affair later that day because it was my niece's graduation day. Her graduation was at two in the afternoon and the entire family traveled to join her dinner celebration later.

We passed by this pretty municipal hall and I asked the husband to take a photo but he took a wide shot. I was expecting a closer shot but that's okay.

What's so nice here in Bohol when we go on road trips is that there is no traffic. The riders and drivers here are so chill, the worst thing is that they are too chill that they don't have a sense of urgency.

My husband overtook a lot of huge cars that were just riding on an average of 40-50 kph and in no time, we were already in Tagbilaran City. It was 11 in the morning and so we headed to a cafe, I was locating some nice and chill spot so we could kill time. I found Tamper Coffee and Brunch.

I really like this cafe. Matti was just too active that we couldn't stay here, Matti wanted to go out after eating lunch. I just want to share that this cafe has a high ceiling which is nice. They got huge servings too which was a plus for us!

And I have to say that there were not many people around so if you are looking for a spot to work in Tagbilaran, Tamper is a good option as they also have very fast internet connection.

The next thing we did was bring Matti to a play area in Bohol Quality Mall. The visit to the play area was halted because Matti wanted to poop.

But before that, he tried to play with the many toys like the cooking ones and this car. This play area is too small and the toys are looking overused. They didn't arrange the toys too and I am not sure about the disinfection.

We then headed to where our parents were - Island City Mall. At the mall, I bought a cake for Aiesha Zaila. Then we headed to the bag section as I bought one for a friend, James also got himself a new slingbag which he said would fit the camera but nope, the camera won't fit in so I guess this bag will just be used for his wallets and stuff.

As it was almost five in the evening, the group decided to go to Gerarda's where my father had booked a reservation. He ordered quite a few food. This was not our first time to dine here but each single time, we appreciate their food.

The flavor is just great and they have such accommodating staff.

We finally met with Qing Axl, my brother's two months old baby boy. And we reunited with Amari too! This young lady would show this face whenever we ask her to smile:

The celebration went well, we were all satisfied with the food, I gave a little gift to Aiesha too, we had a hard time thinking of what to give her so we decided to just give her money and she can pick whatever she wants.

It was already seven in the evening when we went out of the restaurant. All of us were full and really happy about this milestone.

I was suppose to meet up with on of our crypto friends but she had a delayed flight from Manila, so we ended up going home right away. James, my husband was already tired from the whole day of driving. So when we arrived home at nine in the evening, he was down to the bed right away.

That's all, it was such a tiring day but we were all thankful too for the celebration. Thanks a lot for reading this! I am already very sleepy so I'll hit the sack now. Don't miss reading the previous articles too:
