It is not a "just" work.
Hello beautiful people!
I hope you all are doing fine amidst of the shortcomings and uncertainties we may feel day by day. Always remember that a positive life is a happy life. β¨
"Ah, Call Center Agent ka lang pala?"
"Sus, madali lang naman maging CC, tamang upo, tas aircon, free coffee. Sarap ng trabaho."
"Wag ka na mag call center, wala ka namang makukuha diyan. Magturo ka na kasi yun naman yung tinapos mo."
Most of the lines I heard when I started working as a Call Center Agent, right after I graduated. I really wanted to try working in a BPO to see how really it works that the day after my graduation, I got my way here in Cebu City. And when I posted updates online about my work, some congratulated me for getting hired, but most really said that lines above. Like for real? We're not just call center agents. We are more than that.
Putting the word "just" on people's statements about BPO is really degrading. We are not stealing, we are not killing people, we are not cheating. We are working decently.
I am actually tired still hearing that line until now that I am still a call center agent. If you think applying for this job is just as easy as one, two, three then you're wrong. Everything starts with the interview. You'll be asked questions out of nowhere, like "What if you're an alien, what will you do?" And you'll be too stunned to speak by then. You'll see that question as a non sense one, but once you'll get to be endorsed in the office, you'll realized that it is really possible to get asked with such out of nowhere questions. Because in call center, you'll get to engaged with different people, from different countries, with different attitudes. You'll engaged with people you cannot even see.
That is why, some call center agents when being told "Ah! You're just working in a BPO." Tend to answer them, "Pass the interviews first and let see if you can say that again." Because for real, we are so tired of hearing that line.
And please know that working in a BPO, is not just working there. Working there because they are the breadwinners of the family. Students are even working as a part time call center agent just for them to fund their studies, working in a BPO can help you start your business as you can get funds from it. I have known a lot of call center agents being able to send their siblings to school and made them gradute in time. And working in a BPO, will really help you with things. That's when you learn how to be more patient, that's where you can learn how to socialize with people, that's where you can learn how to manage your time. So if you think that working as a call center agent is just a "just work", then there's something wrong with your thinking. And if you see call center agents trying to be happy and living the best of their lives, going to beaches to have fun, it does not mean they have a lot of money. They deserve to have fun and unwind too.
Anyway, as long as your work is not causing anybody pain, as long as you're not stepping on them, then you are good to go. We all are thriving hard in this life. We all wanted to have a good life. So if this is one of our way to have that dream, let us be and do yours too.
That's all for today beautiful people. If you have any thoughts about this, feel free to leave it in the comment section below. Let's interact. Stay safe always! Xoxo β¨βΊοΈ
