Restaurant: Read and Reflect

At this very moment, I want to share a story that is something filled with insights and lessons. After this, I hope you will appreciate it and be able to be inspired.

There are two persons who love each other. The boy is not poor but not that rich. However, the girl is just a simple woman who came from a poor yet humble family. When the boy brings her to her family to introduce her, his parents already show little to no interest.

The boy's parents ask her about her parents' jobs. She answered honestly and humbly that her mother is a housewife while his father is a carpenter. The mother of the boy almost got choked.

Deep inside the girl, she feels humiliated in front of his boyfriend's parents. But she did not show any bad manners towards them because she was taught to ba always be respectful to everyone regardless of the situation.

Before the lunch ends, the mother talked to her. She said that she is beautiful but she doesn't think she is the right one for their child. She did not say directly, but the girl understands what she is implying. Tears fell down but she tried to conceal it.

She doesn't want to give up in their relationship just because his parents don't want her. But she is not in a position to stop his boyfriend's parents on the decision they want. So even if she feels bad about it, she decided to end their relationship a day after. The boy asked why but eventually, he gave when he found a new one. It is sad on the girl's part but she has to move on.

She focused her attention on her studies. Every night before she sleeps, the word said by his ex' mother always echo in her mind. This serves as her motivation not to prove her worth to them but to prove herself she is not what they think about her.

After their graduation, her efforts were paid off. She graduated as Magna Cum Laude and she is also the one who delivers a speech. She said that no one should look down to anybody because no one deserves such treatment. Anybody is not nobody, because a nobody can also become someone. Someone who is much better than what they think about. All we just need is respect.

A few years after the graduation, the boy's mother and the girl meet again in a high-class restaurant. The mother faked a smile when she saw her in an attire that is similar to the staff in the restaurant. The girl accommodates her. Deep inside the mother's head, she is laughing. The mother how long has she been working there. Before she could answer, one of the staff came.

"I'll take over now, ma'am." The staff say. "Oh, okay. I'll leave it to you now."

Before she leaves, she give the mother the menu that she is asking for. While she was walking towards her office, she overheard the conversation of the mother and the staff.

"Is she the manager of this restaurant?" The mother asked. "Not just that, ma'am. She is the owner of this restaurant. If you don't mind, we idolize her so much. She is very inspiring because she just came from a poor family, but look at how she is right now. She have 20 branches of her restaurant but she is still humble. She never forgets to look back from where she came from." The staff said.

Upon hearing, she just smiles. She may not have seen the mother's reaction but whatever it is, she is not interested to know it because she has moved on already. What she has done to her before is one of the reasons why she was able to be the person she is right now.

The lesson is never to look down on anyone because you do not know everyone's story especially their capabilities in life. Success is not the best revenge, it is having peace of mind out of it.
