Learn to Let Go: Resisting the Urge to be a Control Freak When we were still young, we resist our parents who impose too many instructions on us. But I can't imagine having parents who, more than just enumerating the instructions, write them down in an elaborate manner, post it in a very conspicuous place in the house, monitor everything on the list from time to time, and demands an update. It's choking.

Have you ever watched the movie adaptation of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's The Little Prince? The Mother, voiced by Rachel McAdams, is an example of a control freak. She had everything figured out and scheduled for his daughter - every minute until her adulthood. All the daughter has to do is follow along with the schedule. It was a boring life if it is still considered living at all.  Inside the Mind of a Control Freak A control freak is a person who takes the steering wheel for himself, turns whenever and wherever he wants to and gets easily frustrated when things don’t go well along with his plans. He is a leader- but ends up being of the extreme type. He allows no deviation from his plans and seldom acknowledges the opinion of others. To him, no way is better than his way. A control freak needs to live by the fact that far and above his leadership is the leadership of the one who is Sovereign. God’s sovereignty encompasses every human plan and decision, including those of the control freak’s, no matter how hard they assert control. No one is in total control but God alone. Refusing to submit to God’s authority and control is tantamount to disobedience because of pride.  A control freak spares himself from a lot of pain and disappointment when he begins to accept that God is in control of everything and he can trust God with every minute detail of his life. There is no need to worry. What to do When We Have this Tendency We need to let go. We have to accept the fact that we cannot hold all things at once. Especially when it comes to how people respond to things. We cannot expect them to feel the way we want them to, and to act the way we force them to. There will be a struggle. We are all created with free will and we need not overstep the boundaries of others by trying to control them. We also need to learn to accept that the future will not always go according to our charted course. As much as we can't be sure of what will happen tomorrow, we can't be very rigid with our future as if life owes us because of our "controlling behavior". We have to leave room for uncertainty. It is freeing, it gives us room to breathe. Life would be boring if we already know and expect everything that we will happen in the future.  Conclusion In no way I am suggesting to be haphazard of the future and leave everything to chance. It is not wise. We need to plan and chart a course for our life. We need to learn to be proactive. But we also need to balance it with faith and trust. We can't know it all. We can't have it all.  But when we tend to be too controlling, the path to freedom is by acceptance. We are depriving ourselves of happiness if we control things too much. Learn to let go. Learn to trust people. Be more accepting of uncertainties. Enjoy life.  Read my BCH-related blogs: ****The Volatility of Crypto and Emotional Investing**** https://read.cash/@Marts/the-volatility-of-crypto-and-emotional-investing-fd1d6c3b ****Spark Curiosity!
