Certainties and Uncertainties
The entire night I have been thinking about a lot of things and weighing decisions about life, work, social responsibility, medical accountability, patients, family, and others. My mind is juggling all that, and it seems that I can't even write anything other than this.
So, let me write my thoughts here in a wee bit.
Being in the medical field and health practice, sometimes I can't avoid asking myself what would I do if this patient won't recover under my care? What could've done? What should be done? What if? Why not? Sometimes, people expect this and that, but honestly, **we’re all human and life isn't always certain in our hands.**
This morning, I received a referral of a case that I really dislike handling because I know prognosis isn’t favorable for this case, but no matter how I dislike, I can’t say NO, as a Physical Therapist I should do the best of my ability for this patient to improve and hopefully recover, but at the back of my mind, with the experience I had, it is hard.
Again, I am at this point of how I could trust myself, my skills, and my capability about my work. Whenever I am faced with this kind of situation I am torn between my mind and my heart- **my mind would give me doubts, but my heart would give me hope.**
Indeed, we have experience and knowledge about things, especially in science, there is evidence based practice. However, we can never box some things. Unexpected things can happen, miracles too. As they say, prayers can move mountains!
Okay. I believe in these things, but NO.
Unfortunately, some people in the medical field would misinterpret these things as false hope. Indeed, it can uplift our spirits, but the truth is there is no evidence that it can give cure. So, no.
Another thing that bothers me is money. We all know that Physical Therapy services here in the Philippines are expensive, and only a few insurance companies would cover its fees, and not all government facilities can make this accessible to the masses, the poor would desperately spend a fortune to avail it. It’s irritating to think that financial burden is exasperating a patient who is already suffering with a medical condition that has an uncertain recovery. Sigh. How can we find balance in all these things?!
I don’t know, but actually there is nothing certain under the heavens.
Anyway, we can only do our best and let God decide what should be the outcome.
As for me, let's do it!
Lastly, I love this verse that comforts me, it might give you the same confidence too;
**Trust in the Lord with all your heart**
**and lean not on your own understanding;**
**in all your ways submit to him,**
**and he will make your paths straight.** - Proverbs 3: 5-6

Let's Get Waisted
Hello world! How are you all on your side of the world? It's Tuesday here, and I know it's still too early to get wasted, but that's not what i'm planning to talk about. Let's talk about sweating out and get rid of those excess fats... and exercise!
Yeah all! Let's get waisted, though I know at my age burning out these baby fat belly sounds impossible, and with my kind of motivation it seems that it is a long way to go. However, I have seen amazing results from people of different age groups getting toned and trimmed, of course with consistency and diligence. So, why not?! We can always try and the most important part is that we started to live right and healthy. Anyway, I really don't have plans of getting that six-pack abs, and wear a bikini because summer is over hahah! My goal is just to be healthy.
Lately, I realized and shared from my article “A Blessing In Disguise” that my usual path for the morning walk is risky, considering the road accident that took place in the area recently. Thus, I have decided to continue with the exercise routine I have started with a taebo workout at home. I remember when I was working in the academe some years back, my colleagues and I would do taebo workout. I guess this became popular long time ago. Now, zumba is the trend, but I would still like taebo because of its tough moves, and the most primary reason why I don’t like zumba is that I’m not a graceful dancer, lol! For me to exercise in a crowd dancing would make me look like an awkward frog haha! I have friends doing Zumba in a gym nearby, but I just don't like it. I still like to walk/ jog for an exercise routine, and perhaps tae bo.

I have seen this Taebo workout on YouTube and mostly the routines are similar to the ones I can recall doing. Though, I have only done the easy ones, but anyway what is important for me is constant footwork, so I can simply pick those easy ones and make it less stressful.
Moreover, my goal is just to burn those unnecessary fats like cholesterol and triglycerides and eventually a healthy heart. And, basically footwork is very important in the workout for at least 45 minutes to achieve that goal. So, who cares about complicated movements and routines, actually walking and jogging is enough for it!
Tae bo is a good cardio training that involves martial arts movements, like punches and kicking. I think it is also good for toning those muscles in the arms and legs, and the abs too. But, that’s not the plan, though it would be great if it happens, lol!
I started the workout the yesterday and so far I got no muscle soreness or whatever. I think my body is already getting used to the regular exercise I have been doing for a month now. Yay! I am really making great progress with the frequency of my routine. For now, I've been doing 45 minutes of exercise for 3x per week, I wanted to make it four but my lazy ass kick sometimes, and work too.
Thank God for the motivation and hopefully I'll be consistent for months, perhaps years more.

Guarding Your Heart
**“Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life.” – Proverbs 4: 23**
I was reminded of this great wisdom today, the principle is as practical as life itself. Some people would think that guarding your heart only matters when it comes to partnerships and relationships, we are so superficial to understand that the heart encompasses everything - all the issues of life.
Our heart, emotion, thoughts, and will is our responsibility, and in Proverbs 4: 23 God instructed us to guard and control with diligence and wisdom for out of it are ALL issues of life, He did not even say only the matters of our spiritual relationship with Him but ALL, that includes family affairs, love life, career, studies, ambitions, our hobbies and desires and etc.
This morning, someone shared to me the story of the Good Samaritan (read Luke 30-35). We have known the Samaritan helping a man on the road, after helping the man, the next day he left money to the innkeeper, requested the latter to help the injured man and whatever he spent, the Samaritan will repay him next. This story teaches us these two principles:
**Give some responsibility to the people you help.**
Helping does not mean giving all your time and everything to the person. You should also give him the space to move and help himself. Learn to guard your heart from frustration when the person fails to accomplish your expectations. The Samaritan can stay, until the injured man gets well, but he did not. Often times it is better to give the people we are helping some responsibility to learn and grow. It is enough that we helped them once or twice, the most important things that he/ she needed to learn.
“If you give a man a fish, you feed him for a day—if you teach him to fish, you feed him for many days.”
This Chinese proverb is so fitting, I believe. Teaching someone how to live and make a living is much noble than giving them every single day of what they need, eventually exploiting all your time and resources.
**Spend some. Save some. Give some.**
God did not tell us that helping is giving other people an opportunity to use us. When we are guided by the Holy Spirit, he will tell us how to help, when to help, until when to help and until how much we can give.
I have seen a lot of martyrs nowadays, and they're not even heroes. I pity when a kind person was abused just because he/ she is willing to help every time. Indeed, it's not bad to help, but we have to guard our hearts before we lost the respect we have for ourselves.
Last Thoughts
I just love this principle about life. I have imagined myself so many times bursting with frustration and disappointment just because I have given so much and yet I was taken for granted.
Today, I’m learning to take this concept personally AGAIN, as a social being sensitive and affectionate to the people we care and love; we sometimes fail to guard our heart. It took more damage to our physical and emotional well-being before we realize that our heart is our responsibility.

A Blessing In Disguise
There are things in life when we get so annoyed about because it didn't go according to plan. We hate things when we miss out errands and schedules just because we get lazy sometimes or we get busy at the moment. However, turned of events happened, according to its purpose, and most often we aren't cognizant of these things beyond our control and earthly superficial understanding about life. Therefore, our annoyance over these things is just like beating around the bush, just sheer crazy expressions of our selfish goals and desires, undeniably we know nothing. We just plan and carry out things, while God does His thing.
This morning, I got mad to wake up so late already. It has been my goal to exercise every other day, actually this routine started a couple of weeks ago. Today, unfortunately, was a missed, perhaps because my body needed more rest and sleep. Work at the hospital has been so tiring nowadays when our census increased since May and I guess enough rest during night time is of utmost importance.
I got really annoyed with myself to miss the routine that I started building conscientiously. But, right now I felt I was so blessed and fortunate to have missed it.
Why?

This was a vehicular accident that happened at around 6.45 in the morning along my usual routine walking/ jogging path when I exercise. As you see in the video, the small auto rickshaw was dragged back forcefully by the white Montero vehicle when the latter counterflow and lost control.
This is the road that we usually had a morning walk, not in the national highway, its a barangay road that leads to the subdivision and some resorts in the area. We love to walk here because it's not crowded and only a few vehicles are passing by. If you noticed, there are curved areas down the road, thus overtaking is really not allowed. I took this photo when I still walked with my sister a few months ago.
The driver of the white vehicle was fine, but the driver and passenger from the auto rickshaw died. And, another passerby on the road got hit too, now hospitalized and battling for his life.
I have read the comments from the video posted on Facebook and I felt bad for the victims. One lady commented that she was on the scene when it happened and she even cried comforting the driver when he sobbed asking to save him and that he still wanted to live. Oh Lord, my heart breaks. May Manong Driver and his son both rest in peace, and may justice be served for their tragic death.
Beyond words, I'm truly grateful that I woke up late and missed my morning walk. At 6.45 perhaps I'm still on my way home walking on that spot, and God knows what would happen. I'm just exceedingly grateful for the protection He has bestowed on me, you know my mind can go nuts right now thinking what if. Moreover, I have fear now to do my exercise on the road, with the busy community we have in the neighborhood anything can happen. So, perhaps for now, I can only exercise at home to feel safe.
**Last Thoughts:**
They say accidents can happen anytime, but to drive safe and being extra cautious while driving is so important. As a driver we are liable the moment we turn that car on. Let us be responsible drivers and commuters at all times.
Lastly, this is what I learned, indeed our life is not ours. We can plan and make all necessary things to survive and live, but God will always have the last say. And, we don't need to fret and complain because He knows best and He works for the better. We can only pray. Pray without ceasing that He will keep us safe and direct our daily lives according to His will.
I remember this line of the song, when I posted this on noise.cash back then. Indeed, **"His goodness is running after me."**
Again, thank you Lord for your guiding mercy. A blessing in disguise, and I'm truly grateful beyond words.

Bundle of Stuffs for the New Bundle of Joy
Hello everyone in the cryptoverse! How was the market nowadays? Yeah, right… need not to ask, I don’t want to think about it too coz I might just cry. Sob** Anyway, whether the market is high or low, green or red, life must go on. So, let’s keep going, fighting and chasing those dreams no matter what.
Let me talk instead about this cute bundle of stuff I got for the new bundle of joy. A newborn adorable baby boy from the lady caregiver that I worked with a patient under my care for Physiotherapy a few months back.
The other week I wrote this article “The Jealous Wife Says ‘Stay’,” it is all about a couple with a seemingly unique way of living together. Whatever it is, I wish them the best. Moving forward from this topic, I have mentioned from the article that I have allotted the tips from that article to buy some of the baby’s needs. She gave birth Monday last week with a healthy baby boy through normal spontaneous delivery by God’s grace. I know she’s been praying for it after she missed the expected date, as her Obstetric doctor said that they might opt for a cesarean section if she won’t labor for a couple more days. And, we all know CS here in the Philippines is a fortune, so it’s a big NO for her situation. Thank God everything went out so well!
As promised, I bought a little something for the baby last Sunday when we went out for Father’s day. I dropped by to shop for baby’s stuffs, and thank goodness I scored some on discount sale!
I bought a couple of hooded blankets, there’s only pink and green on sale, so I picked both. I hope no one is confronting me why I included the pink one, but hey! The baby will only use it during bathing so, who cares with the color, eh?! Haha!
Then, I bought baby feeding bibs, yellow and green, with cute animal prints. Early this evening I tried to take a picture of my purchases to share here, and realized the wrong grammar on the caption of the green bib. Oh well, that must be one of the reasons it was discounted, lol! Again, who cares! Baby will just need it to wipe the food and milk mess.
This afternoon, on my way home, I dropped by on my favorite thrift shop, and got this terno jacket and jogger pajamas. It's really cute, branded and still with the product tag attached, plus the price is right for my budget so I bought it without hesitating. Blue would be a great color for the baby boy, but there is none, so the gray one would do. Aww, I enjoyed buying these little something for the baby, I hope this will all be very useful for him.
That ends the shopping and I'll be meeting my friend, the husband's sister tomorrow after work so I can hand it to her for the couple. I wish I could go and pay a visit, but they live far from the city, that would be next time I guess.
Anyway, what's with the crypto intro? Well, the value of BCH is really bad thus I opted not to withdraw any funds from my crypto wallet despite of the fact that I should be using the tips that I got from here. Instead, I used my personal money, and perhaps convert BCH when the market isn't this bad... soon... I hope really soon.

A Father's Plea
This poem is a father’s plea for his daughter on her journey away from home.
`As the plane noses down the runway`
`On its quickening pace and roar`
`A flood of parental remembrances soars`
`Poignant on my heart’s core`
`I see you again as a one-year-old`
`Exploring my face with your hands`
`As my three-year-old baby`
`Sailing paper boats in a water alley`
`And as my four-year-old who rubs her nose`
`After her puppy got lost`

I used to write in Bubblews before, also a social blogging site that pays its members for content. This has been previously a great blessing for a lot of people I knew, some are here too on this platform, though I didn't know them at that time yet. Perhaps after a year, the site got closed when it got populated and plagiarizers started to pollute the atmosphere.
This poem was first published there, I don’t know anymore if it’s visible or archived online. I have completely forgotten the title, the one I saved was the poem itself. I think I can be poetic when I’m emotional, lol! I wrote this on my first father’s day away from my family, that time I was working overseas.
I’m not that close with my father when I was little since I attended school in the city while he worked on our farm in Bukidnon. When I started working and two of my brothers finished College, we began to enjoy time with him. Apparently, after a few years when I got to see him regularly, I have applied to work overseas so I can help two of my younger siblings still in College.
Those years when I was away, my father has been overly dramatic haha! He would ask and nag my mom to call me often, and that time he persistently learned to use Facebook and Messenger to keep in touch, lol! You know how annoying our parents are when it comes to their adventures regarding gadgets and stuff, lol!
Anyway, my father really transformed through the years as he got old. In my childhood, he was that very strict father image I could imagine and fear. Nowadays, in his senior years, he is so needy, especially when he got a mild stroke a couple years back. And, very docile and yielding to his grandkids. Duh! I think all grandparents are really like that, eh? How I wish he was like this too when we’re kids! Must be a different me now, lol! So, all good, I guess.
I hope you had a wonderful day out with your fathers today. We had our dinner in a restaurant at the mall, and I've seen that there's this videoke challenge for dads who would love to sing. Awww, isn't that cute?!

Let's Bloom Together
Once there was a cocoon that lived so constricted and limited on its own covering. She would struggle to set free, moving every muscle of her body to feel the liberty of the world outside. Whenever she gets weary, she would stare at the garden, wondering how wonderful it would be to engage with all the plants and creatures around her someday. But, in her tiny capsule, she thought she was nothing.
Then, one day, the right time comes for her to be free, as she tried to extend its wings again further and further, she finally has the strength to flap it open and realize its beauty.
As she lived her life in the garden, she began to understand her purpose. As she engaged with all the living things around her, the garden became lively and colorful. Flowers bloom, and new plants are growing!
They bloom together!
I love this metaphor of the butterfly with our life as a social being. Indeed, **we can do great things together.**
We started out like cocoons, merely observing the life successful people have in this platform. Then by continually working the ropes, consistently writing quality content and working together with the people around us, we didn’t notice that we are already one with them.
In my experience, I once started with four thumbs up on my first article and zero tip, I can’t even thank someone in particular because there’s no one commenting. However, that never disappoints me because I know there is no instant success in everything, not even in the lottery. So, I just did what should be done. I have read lots of amazing tutorials back then, and the one that remained vivid in my memory was from @McRonald. Eventually, some great writers I have known back then have left the platform when the tipping Rusty came. I don’t know why, but there are only three most important pointers I have known so far for things to work out here: one, quality content, two, consistency and last, community engagement.
At this time, I'm already in my one year and nine months, earning has been up and down, but always wonderful, writing has been a great outlet for me to express my world and hone this craft (if there is, lol!) and I just love learning what is left to learn in the cryptoverse. Of course, a big shout out to my #Club1BCH community for the boost of inspiration to learn new things, cause I never thought that I could embark on smartBCH.
Everything is rewarding. But, read.cash is not a job for me, though my niece would say, *“You’re working again, Tita?”* whenever I’m in front of my laptop, lol! I love this platform, and I don’t want to pressure myself here. I don’t want to drag and suffocate my mind with what to write, because I want to take pleasure from here. Thus, I learned to pace my time. And, it works!
Our journey in read.cash is great and everyone would agree. Let's make this a beautiful garden by engaging with the community, find friends and establish camaraderie.

All of us are Dead
I’m not fond of watching horror or suspense movies, so I don’t know why I got hooked watching this, lol! Since last weekend, my brother’s kids have been watching this series on Netflix, just so you know the eldest is 15 and the girl is 8. We thought that this film would be okay for them to watch certainly with adult supervision.
At first, I’m unsure if my attention span for this kind of film would ever last longer because for so many years I have known myself as someone who would hate such a genre, or maybe I have less interest because getting scared watching is not my idea of entertainment. When the “Train to Busan” made waves all over the internet some years ago, I never got excited. Same with this.
However, while watching this for a few days now, I have learned that Koreans are really not that morbid with the scenes. I don’t know if I’m accurate with my observation, or must be because I had matured enough on how to accept the kind of violence shown in the film.
Anyway, “All of us are Dead” is a Korean TV series on Netflix about a zombie apocalypse. While it represents the usual zombie infection, spread and scare, this series also has side stories about friendship, morals and family. And, I think this is one of the interesting aspects of the film.
The conception of the virus actually started from the story of this father, who happened to be a scientist and at the same time a science high school teacher. His obsession started when his son experienced all sorts of horrible bullying in school, and worst the school authorities just brush aside the problem simply because it does not concern them. Unfair. That’s the reason why the father made this mess. Insane. It turns out to be like that. Just sad that **any brilliant mind could create a catastrophic turn of events just because life is cruel and unforgiving.**
Friendships are indeed tested in the hardest of times.
In the kind of situation they are in, we can say that only the fittest will survive. But, in this film you will learn that survival is about making sacrifices and team work. During hard times you will learn your real friends, they are the ones who understand your fear and tears.
There’s this scene early in the series wherein the guy showed benign signs of infection because of a scratch. The mean girl insisted that he was infected, thus was isolated from the group for a few hours just to make sure that he won’t turn into a zombie. However, this mean girl pretended to make a conversation while wiping the guy's wound, but unfortunately discreetly infected him with a zombie’s blood on it just to make her assumption right. Imagine?! A friend would never do that!
Moreover, from this scene, I love the morality shown by the teacher. She must’ve cornered the mean girl for its horrific action, and uplifted what is right in the eyes of her students. But, she still went out and helped the girl, and on her last sensible human moments she still taught about setting things right, humility and being apologetic.
I thought I could write more, perhaps next time when I finished watching it. We're still in episode 7, I guess there is still so much to learn from this series, other than killing and biting, lol!
I'm sure the title was frightening, but the content isn't.

The Jealous Wife Says "Stay"
This afternoon, a girl friend of mine vented out to me about her annoyance over her brother who will soon become a father a couple of weeks from now. Not my business actually, but I can’t believe how weird this man and his wife think about as a couple.
Anyway, while thinking about what to write, I was reminded of this song by Justine Bieber and The Kid Laroi “Stay,” pretty funny and apt for this story. I wanted to share the original pop version, but my old soul got hooked listening to this cover by Postmodern Jukebox featuring Freedom Young. So, let me park it here so you can listen while reading.

The jealous wife said “stay,” this was the excuse of my friend’s brother why he didn't want to look for work or perhaps make a decent living. My friend has been advising his brother to look for a job ever since his wife got pregnant, of course, as a “soon-to-be” father he needs to fulfill such responsibilities. But, the brother nagged and misinterpreted the sister’s advice.
I am quite appalled with the great and lamest excuse the brother could come up with. He said that his wife told him that it’s okay for him to stay home and not to work because she is a jealous wife and she hates to hear him see other girls while working. So, it’s fine for the wife to make a living, while hubby is at home playing basketball and mobile legends. Well, this is really fine if the couple has enough resources for the rainy days.
The wife is a caregiver, and though she got some savings for the medical expenses during delivery, but, how about other expenses? At the moment, she’s on maternity leave for 2 months now,and for sure no work and no pay for a couple more months after giving birth. How to stretch out the money for daily expenses?
Just today, the brother wanted to borrow money from my friend to buy spare tyres for his motorbike. However, she refused because she’s thinking that the couple might need additional help during delivery, and she can’t afford to offer more, she has needs too. The pregnant wife instead gave the money for the tyres, and blurted out “I really need to go back to work.”
Now, I hope she realized that living as a couple is a give and take. It’s fine to be sufficient for the family, but there will be instances like now, when she’s pregnant and the priority is to take care of herself and the baby. Her partner should brave up and face the responsibilities.
Nowadays, there are plenty of jobs for people like him who knows how to drive a motorcycle. Courier companies, fast food chains and delivery services, like Grab and Food Panda, are intensively popular that they employ more and more delivery men who knows how to drive a motorcycle. I'm sure he is more suitable for this kind of job.
Anyway, love is blind. Perhaps this is the situation here.
But, how long will you stay blind and forgiving from your irresponsible partner?
Will you let him stay?

When Life Happens
I’m back!!! It feels like I’ve been away for a week, I miss my usual routine of writing and then reading your lovely and inspiring articles. How’s everyone? Still on writer’s block?
Speaking of getting blocked up, my time in the virtual world got blocked for a bit a couple of days ago after all the busyness in the real world. I got crammed with work and some extra responsibilities from our association, the Iligan Physical Therapy Society. The group has been inactive since the pandemic started and everyone thought that perhaps it’s time to move on and do some great things.
It seems that the world has gone back to the ‘nearest’ normal life we used to have. Earlier this evening, my dad watched the news and mentioned that social gatherings, restaurants, cinemas and all are now permitted by the government to operate at hundred per cent capacity, however, there is a requirement for people going to these places and events-that is to be fully vaccinated. So, yes, this must be it. Great news? Maybe.
Thus, I guess we are now redeeming our lost time and vacation plans, etc. I can’t even understand if we can “redeem” all that when “Time is Gold.” We all lost the two years, we can’t go back and amend it. We can only accept the lost time and opportunities, and move on.
I’m still feeling lost actually. It seems that the momentum I have created two years ago for all my future plans in life has just gone into oblivion. Now, I don’t know how to start again?
You know that feeling when you’re actually busy working, your days are preoccupied with activities, and you live life like you own it.. But, NO. It still leads you to nowhere. You just live life filling the time and the gaps.
Where to start? I don’t know. It’s unfair, that life happens now, when all your drive and passion just went down at the bottom, and even lost the power to shake off that mundane existence. Sigh.
Another burden that kept us down is my uncle’s illness and medical expenses for the immunotherapy treatment. It’s a fortune. He finished one session that costs a whooping $2,000, he would need that same amount after twenty one days, till he completes the total eight sessions. Oh dear Lord, we can only trust for His provision and hopefully healing comes soon for my uncle.
There are lots of things going on nowadays, the cost of living included. This is what we all have in common, so yes, let’s just keep fighting… and pushing.
Anyway, when life happens, we just need to sit back and make some priorities. We don’t need to juggle everything at the same time and mess everything up, right?

Pain, Rain and Some Gain
Nay. I feel terrible today. I have pain in my thighs, arms, and upper back, all because I started loving myself, lol!
So, yesterday, I started exercising again. Yeah, I’m trying to get fit as a promise to myself after a swift recollection about life and everything a few days ago, that was during my birthday to be exact. Oh well, I do love the feeling while doing my 45-minute workout, it feels refreshing and invigorating. However, this morning, I thought I could not get out of bed, haha! The muscles in my body were like nagging me to “please! Don’t move me!!!” haha! What a shame! I guess I haven’t exercised for centuries!
We call this “Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness,” actually a normal reaction for muscles not used to such kind of rigid training. And, in order to decrease the likelihood of experiencing this again is to condition the muscles through regular exercises. Simply means, I need to do my exercise again tomorrow or the next day when the muscle soreness subsides. Perfect! Lol!
Then the rain came. For more than a week now, the monsoon rain never fails to visit us every afternoon. Today is not an exception, and of course it tortures me while commuting from work, the rain and the pain in my thighs just kept me miserable while doing my usual battle of getting a ride. Oh man, any Filipino would understand a commuter’s plight during rush hour, sometimes I wish I could be invisible so I could just go through all those people, or perhaps be like The Flash and be home in super speed. Nah! I’m just dreaming.
But, the next revelation is sure to be a reality.
Yay! There is a future in smartBCH! Let’s claim it, please…
I believe it will happen soon.
But, anyway, it has been a month that I haven’t checked my farms and all in smartBCH, and I ignored the communities on Telegram as well. The bearish market has gotten me that oblivion-feels about the crypto market for a bit, and for a while I just want to write and hodl Bitcoin Cash. And, wait.
No matter how predictable the market goes nowadays, I’m still happy to see tokens adding up bit by bit in some of my farms and pools. Surprisingly, I love how my NFT’s on lads.cash, joystick club and NFTC are earning passively. So, hopefully, one day, another all time high will amaze us too someday with Bitcoin Cash and smartBCH.
The smartBaby nursery just had a birthday last May 30, so happy that it happened on my birthday too, hehe! I just love these cute babies, and surely, I will love them more when they start earning in the nursery. Though, APR is not that juicy in comparison with joybot staking, but any passive earning is great for me. Apparently, I am also hoping for the $Joy token to dump a bit so I could buy a couple more joybots, there are still heaps of the NFT left on supply, and it would be great to buy some at a good price.
This would be it, hopefully no more pain and just more gains for us in the near future.

Birthday Lunch at Northern Highland Resort
Hi! And hello everyone! I’ve been away for a couple of days because of a very reasonable excuse… and that’s because of my birthday! Yey! Haha!
Nothing special actually, we just had lunch at this restaurant and resort near our place. My mom’s sister came together with her in-law, so we had a bit of fun because the family just got bigger with us- six in the family, plus them. Well, we always love to be reunited with our relatives. When the pandemic started, my aunt has been most of the time in her house in the province because of fear, guess she got tired from staying home now. My mom invited her to come so they could at least bond for a day.
Anyway, I’m excited to share with you about the resort. Northern Highland Resort is just situated in our barangay, of course in Iligan City. This was previously called Levan Hilltop, but was sold to a new owner a year after the outbreak of the Covid19 pandemic when the economy was really bad. It was open again three months ago, and the new management really did well in rehabilitating the place. That’s why, last Monday was our chance to visit the place again.
The resort is really cozy and spacious considering its location at the top of the hill and overlooking the sea and our neighborhood. Aside from that, the improvements with the internal decoration and lighting is really wonderful. The makeshift balcony and terraces from the previous resort set up were already improved to additional dining areas. And, this is great so they could segregate other guests if there are events held in the main hall.
This is in front of the entrance, and I particularly love those rectangular structures at the center because those are actually concealed water fountains. In the picture, it looks mainly like tiny towers, but in reality it looks wonderful. The ornamental plants in the background accentuate the aesthetics of the entrance too.
This is the dining hall in the balcony and the view is amazing. I bet the view is even more marvelous during the golden hour with the beautiful sunset. I would love to stay longer, but I doubt that we will have the orange sunset nowadays because of the rainy and gloomy afternoons, maybe next time again, soon.
I love to see plants everywhere, mostly in white pots, adding more beauty to the place.
This swimming pool is the most favorite spot for the kids. They have four pools with its respective slides at the center. My niece would love to take a swim, but my mom discouraged her upon seeing the water not freely flowing. This perhaps is a disadvantage the new management should improve because there are plenty of resorts nearby that has free flowing water, most guests prefer to go.
You might expect food images from this article because it's a birthday lunch, however, I have completely forgotten about taking some pictures because of the chit chats, lol! Maybe next time again. Food is good, but my mom would rate it 8/10 compared to her favorite local resto in town, duh.. I guess she's just choosy, haha!

Choose to be Grateful
A blessed Sunday to everyone!
It’s Sunday and I love it because there’s no work or any distraction of on-call patients, etc. So, I think today is the perfect time to just sit back, relax and cherish every good thing I have at the moment.
This morning there has been a 4- hour power interruption in the neighborhood and of course my virtually inclined self wanted to protest, but I choose not to bother myself about it and just enjoy “me” time. I think the universe conspires to loosen up myself and tune into some quiet solitude.
Apparently, the day was so relaxing that even until now I struggled to make my neurons work by coming up with just an article, lol! Perhaps, I have to shake it off myself a bit and let’s talk about gratitude.
**I’m grateful for the good memories**
While thinking of some ways to shake off my timid state of mind, I was reminded of those great childhood memories. Whenever our teacher noticed us so sleepy during an afternoon class, she would instruct us to stand up, stretch and do jumping jacks. Her loud voice and stick banging on the desk in rhythm would also stimulate us to move and keep jumping. After that transient quick and energetic response, our mind would be active once again. Then, back to its sleepy state after half an hour, lol! That memory really made me smile, it reminds me about this time, I just need an hour I guess to finish this article and again welcome back those sleep hormones rummaging my brain cells.
**I’m grateful for my work**
Most of us sometimes complain about our work, I’m guilty of that too. Then later on I realized that I should stop complaining and just do what needs to be done. Work is always demanding, thus we have to balance it with enough rest. That’s it!
A lot of people fret about not having a job, so I should just be happy that I have one and be grateful that our work has always been a portal of God’s provision. However, opportunities are everywhere, we can always find better ways to improve ourselves and our future. And, that opens the way for the next big thing we all have in common to be thankful of…
**I’m grateful for BCH and read.cash**
Truly thankful for this platform, not only that it’s rewarding financially, but it has always been a great venue to express our mind and vent out about life sometimes
When I started this platform, I didn't even know about Bitcoin Cash and other cryptocurrency related stuff. Now I can tell that I really learned a lot about some of it and am hopeful that one day BCH and smartBCH will reach greater heights. I’m sure we will all soar high too! Let’s keep our fingers crossed for that, hehe!
**I’m grateful for my family and friends**
We are not big, but we are closely knit. It’s comforting that we share each other’s life through happiness and hardships.
**I’m grateful for a lot of small things in life that make living worthwhile**, like the technology, my phone, the dilis that I have this morning, the coffee too, and the music that inspires my soul to sing and appreciate the Source of my everything. I've been listening to this song this morning and it inspires me to write about gratitude today, after being sorry last time (and the feedback has been just sorry too, ha-ha!) Anyway, I would love to write other things not personal, but my as I say earlier, I guess the universe conspires to come up with this. And, I love how it turned out to be.

National Sorry Day
Awww I think we need to celebrate this, eh?
Let me start with myself…
I'm sorry about my lazy and procrastinating self.
I’m sorry about being late to work today.

I’m scribbling the virtual world for ideas on what to write about today and I stumbled upon this interesting site about national days, that you can check here. Surprisingly today, May 26, 2022, some sweet tooth people in other parts of the world are celebrating *National Blueberry Cheesecake day*, isn’t that so delicious?! Some are just so adorable to celebrate *National Paper Airplane Day*, I guess kids would love this. Meanwhile, there is also National Sorry Day. And, this inspires me to write something about at the moment. https://nationaltoday.com/
In my childhood, I have learned a lot about the magic words, not abra ca dabra, but words like thank you, please, you’re welcome, and i’m sorry. However, I have noticed that not all people love to say I’m sorry.
There are people who think that saying sorry and being sorry is a sign of weakness, and that our mistakes make us horrible people, or perhaps less human. Interestingly, in some Korean dramas I watched, the characters often bow or kneel when they apologize to someone, and I realized that this act is really a big deal for them. Somehow, I think by doing this you admitted that you brought shame to yourself and that you’re a disgrace to everyone.
However, in my opinion, being sincerely sorry and apologetic to the people we wronged is not a sign of weakness at all. It is actually a sign of strength.

When we apologize for our mistakes, we are sensitive enough to identify our wrongs and brave enough to admit that we need atonement to fix things right. And, that is something so noble, right? Life is not easy, and making mistakes is inevitable sometimes. We can always give ourselves a tap on the back and say that it’s okay, we all make mistakes. Forgive yourself too.
Forgive. Indeed, being apologetic paves way for forgiveness. Thus, saying I’m sorry is the most wonderful magic word. It won’t harbor resentments and regrets. This would save us from a lot of negativity in life.
Anyway, my perusal about National Sorry Day leads to a story about some Australian history that involves The Stolen Generation- Australia’s native tribe, and that the nation made this day to commemorate its apology and reconciliation.
Well, that is really something so admirable, though until now, some native tribes in some parts of the world are still fighting for their rights and equality.

An Eye for An Eye
Hello everyone! Just some random musings here.
A few days ago I vented out some Good and Bad news and happenings of my crazy boring life, well not that boring just a little, hehe! I mentioned that my uncle was recently diagnosed with cancer in its advanced stage already. The siblings haven’t disclosed this yet to everyone, except me, for the reason that I am in the medical field and my cousins needed some thoughts about it. Actually, not much help I could give other than some advice.
However, this article is not totally about it.
This evening, I got a call from my cousin, the daughter of my uncle, and she vented out some concerns about their problem. Aside from the financial strain, some of the siblings are still dealing about family issues and past resentments.
Moreover, I got caught with this - **An eye for an eye?** Not actually being said verbatim, but I guess this is what the eldest daughter desired to imply in the conversation.
They have this broken family and my uncle abandoned them for another woman. So, during those years, the children suffered emotionally and financially. The eldest didn’t finish college, others were able to self-support till graduation, while the father’s girl of course finished college with the support of his father. All in all, life isn't fair all along for some of them.
It seems that the emotional baggage from the past was still so enormous and fresh from the children. But, I don’t want to talk much about it, coz as this quote goes, it seems that I’m not in the position to comment.
**"Where you stand on an issue, depends on where you sit."**
So, I can only pray for forgiveness and healing for everyone.
Anyway, for the sake of discussion, I want to ask you, do you think karma should be measured by its measure? An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth? Perhaps we can say that it would be fair, and that we will be judged fairly under the heavens. But, in these circumstances, my heart bleeds.
Will you abandon a person who once abandoned you? What if it happens to be your father or mother?
I don’t know.
I think I can only act out of kindness, if there is no respect left in my heart.

Nearly Killed Before Christmas
It was a sunny late afternoon when I was walking down the road home bound. Though the street was eerie and silent, I tried to comfort myself by humming a Christmas song in my mind. I thought it was because I was excited that the holiday is just four days away. And, because of my festive mood, I was completely unaware of the man walking towards me until he spoke.
*“Hi, I’m a friend of your father’s,”* the stranger said, awkwardly smiling.
And, I smiled back. In those days, I thought, no one would be worried much about strangers. Christmas holidays have been just all about love, kindness, giving, and merry-making.
*“We’re throwing a party for your dad,”* the man continued. *“But I have some questions about what to get him. Could you help me pick them out?”*
I agreed because I was so eager to do something for my father.
So, we walked to his car which was parked a couple of blocks away, and got in. The man drove north and only talked a little as we exited the city and off to the open fields. On a remote stretch, he pulled over.
*“I think I got off on the wrong street,*” he said, handing me a map. *“See if you can find the main highway.”*
While I studied the map, the man got up and walked to the back compartment of the car. A moment later, I felt a sharp pain, like a bee sting at the back of my neck. I felt another sting, then twisted in my seat and recoiled in horror. The man, his eyes cold and intense, stood over me, holding an ice pick in his raised hand.
I tried to protect myself, but the man pulled me to the ground. The ice pick plunged to my right chest, yet even in my fear, I sensed that it was not penetrating deeply. The man held the pick for a moment on my chest, his hand shaking, pulled it off and put the weapon down. Without saying a word, he pulled me back to the car.
*“Your father cost me a lot of money and made things hard on me,”* the man said while catching his breath. *“I’m going to drop you off a few miles from here. I’ll call your dad to come and get you.”*
He drove for some time, and turned onto a dirt road and stopped the car in a secluded area of rocks and tall untamed bushes. I was relieved to be out of the car, and didn’t notice that he had a gun held on my left temple. But, mercilessly aimed at my left leg before he left. I cried in silence and never moved an inch thinking that he might come back and kill me.
I shrunk back in the bushes, too frightened to speak. My wounds were not serious as I bravely comforted myself, but I helplessly ached with fear. The night came and I became so weak, I cried and shouted faintly, but no one seemed to hear.
The white shirt and denim jeans I was wearing were all in red, however the blood oozing out of my body reduces as the night breeze slowly numbs my senses, or perhaps I can no longer feel my wounds while my consciousness slowly fades away.
Thank God, I woke up in a hospital bed, already Christmas eve.
Hello guys! A few weeks ago I've read another challenge from #PromptlyJonica and it's about flash fiction.
So, the goal is to write flash fiction out of the last dream I had, and since I no longer have vivid dreams, I instead tried to make a story of an interesting dream my colleague recently had.
Dreams can be really weird sometimes taking us back to Christmas or at any memorable time of our lives, and for her I believe it was because her family struggled so much last Christmas time. Whatever it is, I pray that she and her family would find healing and closure by God's grace.

Psst Boy! Pabili nga ng sigarilyo! (Can I buy a cigarette!)
Usually, this is the line I often hear from jeepney drivers passing by in the intersection fronting the post office. Drivers would often call this lad carrying a box load of cigarettes, people would buy one or two, and sometimes he would change the driver’s 20 peso bill to coins.
Boy, not his real name, would often sit on this concrete boulder at the side of the street, waiting for drivers call him for cigarettes. Almost every day he is in that same spot of this busy city.
*He might be selling cigarettes, but I have never seen him smoke. I bet this is the only way he knows he could earn a living and help his mother, a single mom, who has to raise him and two more of his siblings.*
*As early as 7 o'clock in the morning, he heads off to the market first to fill in boxes of cigarettes that he needs to sell to passersby and drivers on the street. Boy, in real life is indeed a cigarette peddler by the road. I don't know his life story, everything you've read from the third paragraph down to the last is fiction, however, I hope that Boy will bear this story in real life soon by God's grace because I love happy endings.

Good and Bad
And the ugly...
Aloha ladies and gents! Forget the ugly, that was some random word at the back of my mind while thinking of the title for this article.
Let’s just talk about the good and the bad, though someone told me that ugly is bad with good outcomes and intentions, ahm maybe partly because there is something good in everything, including the lessons we learned from it, right?
Today we celebrate my nephew’s birthday, and I believe that birthdays are always good news. It means another year of blessing and goodness for my eldest nephew, turning 15! Our handsome teenager in the house had grown so much, though still so naive sometimes.
I cooked his favorite spaghetti this afternoon, and later his dad will buy
something yummy for our dinner.
Yesterday evening at dinner we talked about the ROTC (Reserve Officers Training Corps) that might soon be part of the Philippines education system, perhaps during grade 11 and 12. And, my poor nephew who has been a lazy bee most of the day said that he should be spending more time playing “Call of Duty” now while he is not in grade 11 yet. And, we all laughed! How much longer is he planning to play?! The dad nagged him after bursting into laughter.
In my opinion, this might be unnecessary for some people, however, it can have a significant effect on the character of the child. Discipline, perseverance and hardwork are something a child would learn in the process. Nowadays, while kids are only mindful about computer games and TikTok, it is best that the school should participate again in molding the character of the child.
Anyway, another good news today I received my 5-5 sale purchases from Lazada and Shopee, they came so late. I know, but this is pretty normal for us living in Mindanao. What did I buy? I got myself this external flash, and rechargeable batteries for it. My DSLR camera had a dysfunctioning internal flash for like two years now and just recently I discovered that there are affordable generic external flash that can be bought online. Before, I always thought that I should be buying Sony for a Sony camera, and it’s just so pricey!
This is a best buy! The packaging is great, shipping is fairly good and the item is really functional. The Juan Gadget shop is available in Lazada and Shopee, and a very legitimate store I must say. For the product, I have to try it yet soon, so perhaps that will be in the next few articles in the future.
The bad news for the day is just really shocking and sad. My father’s elder brother was recently diagnosed with Malignant Tumor in the Liver. I talked to my cousin this morning and she told me that my uncle doesn't want to disclose his present health condition to his brothers and sister. And, we respect his decision until God knows when. I don’t know, perhaps when the right time comes. I told my cousin that we can’t keep it longer, especially if the days get tougher.
The tumor is already big enough to get unfavorable surgical resection, thus the doctor considers Immunotherapy for Liver Cancer, the best by far to diminish the size and hopefully good enough for surgery. Oh my, from the looks of it, I think it’s really bad. But, we are all praying for the best outcome and healing by God’s grace.
I am still in shock right now, and I can’t even show my despair to everyone here at home. This write- up is by far the best option to vent out because my family don’t know where I blog, though they know I write. Anyway, thank you as always guys for being there, your words are always comforting.

P.S. You might wonder why I'm posting at this time, all because I'm still on sick leave from last week's flu bug. Oh well, our doctor doesn't like the bug ruining the workplace, totally understandable. So, let me enjoy my staycation!

Bugged With The Flu
Hello readpeeps! I’m a bit weak today because I got bugged with the flu virus, no worries it’s not covid, lol! I just had a negative result from the Covid19 Care Kit. I actually don’t have it, nor our hospital gives us some. A colleague of mine just dropped by this morning to hand me one so I can test myself instead. The kit was actually from her sister in London, so thank God for friends with overseas connections haha!
I got a fever aside from the sore throat and colds last Wednesday, and that fever made me paranoid that it might be the mild omicron variant affecting the upper respiratory system. I’m glad that my friend cared to drop by the kit to cancel all my worries.
I’ve read some articles online and found out that the self testing kit gives a reliable result if positive, and may not be reliable if negative. Oh well, whatever. I’m confident that it’s negative because the fever subsides after a day, though I still have the colds until now. Anyway, claiming that I’ll be okay by God’s grace on Monday.
Nevertheless, do you know that influenza was once a dread word that means plague a long long time ago. Today it is spoken lightly, like “I’m bugged with the flu.” Many believe that Influenza, in this age of miracle drugs, is an antique anxiety we don’t need to fear any longer.
Nowadays, we have the flu vaccine and I never got one ever since. I mean at my age, I think my immune system can combat the virus with proper nutrition, water therapy, vitamin C and a good sleep. In my opinion, the flu vaccine would be best for immuno- compromised patients and the elderly. Anyway, that’s not a medical advice. If you think you need it, so, why not?
The other day my sister just had the flu vaccine. She got it for free as part of the company’s health benefits. She doesn't have any complaints of after effects, whatsoever. All good. Perhaps in my case, I’m still a minimalist even with the medicines, lol! Thank God, I really don't get sick easily. The last time I had a fever, was I guess way back 2015 after traveling from Manila, anyway that only lasted for just a day.
Just some important facts about flu.
Flu returns in cycles. So, we have to try to be healthy at all times.
Pneumonia is a major complication. Don’t take it lightly, especially for the aged population.
I blame the weather for this bug. Usually when I’m a traveling PT, I can’t avoid being outdoors, and nowadays the humidity is excruciating. Then later in the afternoon, the rain pours and I think this stresses me out. On top of that, last weekend, I drove to the airport back and forth in just a couple of days' interval. The flight delays and extended waiting hours I guess had worn me out.
This would be all for now. I'll try to go back to sleep. Actually, I've been sleeping and resting the entire day so I was able to find some time and energy to write something at this time.

The Price for Revenge
In my previous article about “Misfits and Misfortunes,” I left you a hanging scenario about this brave orphan teenager who battled with the rich kids and their respective parents from the Hera Palace Elites. Does it ring a bell? Yes? You’re right, I’m back and inspired to write about this Korean Drama series “The Penthouse.” https://read.cash/@LykeLyca/misfits-and-misfortunes-d4c2049a
I love the character of that orphan girl in the story, she’s a fighter and I love her persistence. However, this brought an unjust demise to her life. Really sad, eh? I hate how her character ended, but some stories are really unpredictable, so what can I do?
Despite her demise, she was cunning enough to leave some clues about her difficulties and sufferings a few days before her death. These are disturbing revelations to the people who cared for her, however, too late to rescue her from all injustices. Anger might be the most accurate emotion felt by those who still longed for her existence, but revenge is the only tangible solution to lessen the pain they’ve felt inside.
Revenge is nasty and dirty. And, no one can fathom what a hurting person, much more a mother, can do to console her from losing a child whom she never got a chance to pamper and love. The feeling of longingness and regret is understandable, but to avenge someone is just crazy as well, you got to watch how crazy this drama series goes.
So, anyway, the grieving mother plotted ways and means for revenge. She was able to topple a corrupt politician that has been making fortunes by accepting money from adoptive parents who need bone marrow transplant donors from healthy orphan children. That brave teenager character that I love in this story has been a victim of this inhumane trade. Unimaginable indeed, if this is true in our society today, I would cheer for this mother who brings an end to this horrible kind of politicians.
However, revenge won't be as sweet as this sometimes. It can cause collateral damage to others that have been around us. In this story, it leads to another person’s death, and a friend’s unfavorable end.
The price to pay for revenge can be painful indeed. At the back of my mind, I thought, is revenge necessary to appease our soul? Does it give us peace of mind? Is it worth it?
In my life, I have been in situations where sometimes I’ve been tempted to take revenge. But, it’s just hard. The crippling part of it is the sleepless nights, moreover lying down without peace of mind is just difficult to achieve through the days that I plot my revenge. I realized, all this is not worth it.
We deserve a good night's sleep, and we need the grace of God to finally lift up all the pain and injustices to Him. He is just, and I know that He sees all our struggles and one day He will uphold what is right in His time.
P.S. I just started season 3 and all the revenge thingy has gone outrageous, and no longer realistic I guess. I'm trying to finish it, hopefully, for closure haha!

Memories of Farm Life
If there is anything that brings joy in the life of a person, that would be making a living and working for his passion. Through this, work won't be another mundane job of everyday, work becomes pleasing, inspiring, and something that brings joy into someone's life. That simply describes the life my dad threads to follow through the years, but this has never been of rainbows and butterflies, I'm sure I have heard enough of regrets and disappointments.
He was a public school teacher in Bukidnon for some years, later, after I was born, he gave up his teaching career to put up a farming business. This was the passion that he wishes to pursue, thus bravely he started a farm. Perhaps by chance, getting his assignment in Bukidnon for his first teaching job, became a spark of hope to start farming, considering that this province is also known to be the food basket of the Philippines because of vast agricultural areas.
And, this was the beginning of my memories with the farm life.
Since then, farming and vegetable gardens have always been a part of us. Though I studied primary school in Cagayan de Oro City, my summers and school breaks were all spent in Bukidnon. When I was younger, I can remember helping my dad carry gallons of water from a nearby stream to water his garden. Later, after the day, my little brother and I will go home riding a cart maneuvered by the cow. These memories have been an exciting experience I look forward to when I was a wee bit younger. Everything was like a playground for me that time, and I think there is nothing I care in the world than to enjoy each day happy and free. Yes! Childhood days were just so wonderful.
However, as I mature, I began to hate farm life. I was ashamed to admit to my friends in school that my father is a farmer. I began to hate school breaks because it entails helping and getting dirty. My tasks on the farm grew harder too, I remember sorting sizes of potatoes and wrapping cabbages with newspaper before packing it in a box, cleaning and brushing the soil from carrots and radishes, and help cover the tomatoes with a piece of paper. That instant in my life, the farm has been like a horrific school break for me, but my mom would nag us if we will not help, certainly because she can save with the manpower if we're there to help.
Another thing I would shrug doing was cooking in the dirty kitchen. In the city during school days we can easily cook with the rice cooker and the gas stove, but on the farm we have to use the traditional way of cooking- chop some wood, let it dry in the sun, make a fire and all. Ugh! All that tedious process makes me want to cry.
I admit, I was once a stubborn child before. However, I never show to my parents that I hate the farm that time, so I guess I'm not that horrible child after all, yet never mature as I thought. Right now, as I jog my memory back to the farm, I can only laugh about them, and never regretted any single day I spent my life back then.
Nowadays, I am proud of myself that I could cook and prepare food the hard way, and experienced the life that had given us a better way of understanding life and family itself.
Farm life is hard, but it is always refreshing to work closely with nature. The memories and experiences will never be futile as well because all that are what we call the basics of living.

Off Duty Today But I'm a Busy Bee
Buzzzzz zzzzz…. That would be the sound of the bee and the sound of my tired self wanting to sleep, lol!
But, before hitting the sack let’s have a short chit chat.
I woke up early on my off duty and all because of my sister arriving today from Manila because she really wanted to vote this coming Monday - Philippines National Election. As usual, I have to drive and fetch her at the airport. My brother is lazy doing errands like this and mostly always have the best excuse in the world, so I really don’t have a choice but to do it myself.
I have that iffy feeling that there would be no decent restaurant in the airport or nearby so before exiting Iligan City I made a drive thru at McDonald’s and grabbed a burger meal. Good thing because the flight has been moved for 40 minutes.
The Laguindingan airport is only for domestic flights and since the pandemic started only passengers are allowed inside the building, other visitors will be accommodated at the roofed benches outside. So, unfortunately, with the hot and humid weather today, staying for some hours in the area was a torture. I got a splitting headache from that ordeal. Sigh.
There are two flights from Cebu Pacific that almost overlapped because of the delay. I also didn’t get the flight details so I’m just basically guessing that she might be here or there, lol! And because of that, something embarrassing happened to me.
Lots of passengers came out and there’s one girl that I really thought was my sister- same body built and long hair, so when she got to the waiting area I surprised her by poking on her waist with my fingers. My sister hates getting tickled on that area and that’s why I purposely did it. Surprisingly, it’s not her, yikes! And, I was really ashamed while apologizing, because the girl got a bit mad and there were lots of people around us. Oh well! I have to blame the masks!!!
My sister came out a bit late, this time I’m more behaved and careful not to make anything foolish lol! I told her about what happened earlier and she just laughed out loud, telling me that she’s disappointed that the girl did not punch me in the face. Seriously?! I still don’t think that I deserved to be beaten up after waiting for hours on a hot and humid day. Sob.
Anyway, she bought me a cold milk tea later when we arrived in Iligan City, and oh wow! It’s the best for this kind of weather. My mood elevated like Christmas time, felt like I just hopped on a winter wonderland! Lol! Just exaggerating.
We arrived home already at five o’clock in the afternoon, and my weary, tired soul had regained some energy when I saw my laptop and remembered that today was the mint launch of smartBaby NFT. Awww! Cuteness is in the air today! I just love the thought of what inspires me to write about at the moment while scrolling around Twitter and Telegram.
Hello guys! Something cute and adorable is coming on smartBCH soon, and it is something related to babies and bananas. Bananas always remind me of the cute and fidgeting minions from the Despicable Me animation. Aren’t they so cute?
The Gambling Ape Club NFT will soon launch the staking use case of the GAC NFT as mentioned in their Telegram community. The lead dev of this project stated that the staking platform is already working yet the team is ironing out its functionality. Currently, the floor price of the GAC NFT on Oasis.cash is still at 0.1 BCH, must be a bit higher from the mint price but I think this would increase when staking starts, so if you’re into NFTs that could be utilized for passive income, you can buy now. I bought a couple already and these are mine.
Banana Token is the reward token from staking the GAC NFT. So, soon these apes will soon climb for me to harvest Bananas.

But, baby patients are just soooo hard and out of my league! I’m confused, but at the back of my mind I’m not taking another job.

Misfits and Misfortunes
What would you like to be? The wheel or the road. Whichever you choose, there is always a point wherein you’ll get beaten by with no mercy.

We can compare the rich as the wheel and the poor as the dirt on the road. But, whatever status you have in society, both are relatively the same when life takes its course. We all feel the pain, we all get hurt, but unfortunately for the misfits there is no mercy and pity.
Misfits are outcast in society, they are poorly judged because of their social status, and it annoys me that some people would literally create misfortunes for them to make them more miserable. Life is indeed unfair for some.
This afternoon I started watching this Korean Drama Series “The Penthouse” and it’s just irritating to see how misfortunes get amplified in the life of the misfits. The story revolves around the rich and the poor, ambitious and incongruent life, trusts and betrayal, and the likes. I just started watching and currently the series is already in season three (must be the final season) so don’t take this as a review for the show. However, the first three episodes were rather compelling and inspiring to write about.
The characters of the misfits in this story were just heartbreaking. How can a mother and daughter experience the same injustices? A mother who lived a painful past should deserve a break from all the misfortunes later in life. I think anyone deserves to enjoy a beautiful life at least with their son or daughter, right? I can’t actually imagine how injustice could be inherited as well? Just crazy!
Nevertheless, there is an orphan girl in the story that I love because of her driven character. Though, another misfit, but she's a fighter and strong willed, indeed worth rooting for in the show. I don’t know how the turn of events will be like because her situation early in the story is a sheer misfortune. I hope her character endures with all the physical and emotional torture after the horrendous bullying incident that almost got her killed, brought about by the filthy rich Hera Palace Children and Elites.
So, I got annoyed and briefly stopped watching, I mean it’s just annoying how the writer of this film can be so one-sided in adding more misery to the helpless. While making the filthy rich people utterly bad and obnoxious. However, my colleagues have been pushing me to keep watching, so I think I have to give it a go after a write up. The next episodes might inspire me and save me from writer’s block.
Anyway, whether you're a wheel or a dirt on the road, and whatever life situation you are in, think about these things...

Let's Talk About April... And Joy
Hello, Love, Goodbye! Time flies faster than I thought, I just said hello to April and started to love it, now I have to say goodbye in a minute more.
This is just surreal, but everything can be real above the ground, so let’s just keep moving, fighting and living for the next month and days to come. Sometimes I thought we are so blessed to live a life wherein the things we do never resets in every passing month, there is always time to work for that dream and overcome all those miseries. But, what if life resets every month or year, and we can choose again to live an easy life, or belong to a wealthy family, or be free than be in a cold prison, or to live and forget about responsibilities, what if? However, this is not the case, so let's forget about it.
Actually, I just watched this Filipino movie "Hello, Love, Goodbye" on Netflix and I cried at this scene. This was the line Joy truthfully narrates to a guy who seemed to be so liberated on his choices in the past.
“It angers me that I don't seem to have a choice. That I need to do this because I need a job, because we don't have money, because my family needs it. So even if I don't like it, I just have to do it. Having a choice is only for the rich." - Joy
This was a line from an Overseas Filipino Worker who has been working as a domestic helper in Hongkong from this movie. Her name is Joy and indeed she has been living her life for her family. We all said that, **WE ALWAYS HAVE A CHOICE,** but are we? It seems that Joy was so right about it, considering her family’s situation.
Anyway, let’s talk about April.
This month has been a roller coaster. My life is good, thank God… but my mind isn’t. This month has been about choices for me, and my poor mind has been in chaos still. And, I’m sure you’ll be in a mess deciphering my thoughts up there because this is just me. My introverted self wanted to be an introvert, so let me be.
Last week, I wrote about “My Flying Mind,” and though I can’t be honest enough, at least that is how I feel, not the beautiful mind, or the criminal mind, but the overthinking mind. Sigh. And, this is the reason why I have been slacking most of the time here. I think I have to blame my flying mind too with my injured left ankle a couple of weeks ago. As I go through this month’s predicament, this verse caught my eyes while reading His word the other day.

So, reality bites. My mind plays tricks on my balance too… and perhaps on my choices as well. Sigh... again... But, prayers can move mountains. Let's do it!

If Time Heals
If time heals all wounds then there won't be no regrets, no resentments, no fear and no bondage of fear and hatred.
I have seen this limited series on Netflix, "Unbelievable" and I felt really sad for this girl who got raped, the misfortune was unbelievably terrible for her poor situation. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QTIkUzkbzQk
Marie, an introverted teenager who has recently been living alone got raped in her apartment with no signs of forced entry, no evidence whatsoever, even neighbors didn’t notice anything about the crime being committed that early morning.
While Marie was being molested by a stranger, the police even accused her of false information, that started when one of Marie’s foster parents told the police that the girl has history of attention-seeking behavior in the past, and suspected that the rape incident might just be another ploy to get attention. Eventually, the investigation was dismissed, and the police even charged Marie for false information. She has to endure probation, fines, court mandated counseling therapy, and the worst she lost her friends, and the public’s trust. She was even bullied by the people and the media.
However, we still have good cops around, people who desire for the truth and won’t conform to the meager source of evidence. When another rape case surfaced, two female cops took the challenge to uncover the mystery of identical rape crimes from several different places, and found out that this serial rapist has been repeatingly doing the same crime from different women, and the yougest was Marie.
The twist and positive break for Marie started when the suspect got the maximum penalty of his crime, and the police who carelessly interprets Marie’s crime story admitted his fault and offered the poor girl $500 worth of check reimbursement for the fine, but Marie didn’t accept it and even sued the city for all her misfortunes after the incident. She got a settlement of $150,000, she accepted it and rebuilt her life. And, I commend her for doing it. The lawyer suggested negotiating for more, but Marie said that she just wanted the police and everyone to accept that they made a mistake, and the money was enough for her to start anew.
I love this line from the film;
“If the truth is inconvenient, they don’t believe it's true”
This was Marie’s line during her counseling, and that was just heartbreaking because it really sheds some truth.
Anyway, going back to the topic: **time**. I often hear some people say that time heals our wounds eventually, but I think this is not always the case. Women who experienced molestation and cruelty do not forget the pain. While watching this movie, and hearing the plight of the victims, though they might have lived back to their usual way of life, the pain and the fear creep in when they’re alone and vulnerable. The trauma might have caused them to build walls from certain people and things, or might develop to phobias.
Time won’t heal, justice does. And, this cruel world won’t always give us the legal earthly justice we always want, and that is often a sad reality for all unsolved crimes. But, we still deserve justice and healing, though, in some other way. God’s deliverance will set us free from that bondage of hurt and insecurity.
"'I will restore your health, and I will heal your wounds,’ declares the Lord.” -Jeremiah 30-17
And, I love this quote too. Yah, we thought we have lots of time, what if we don't. Seek for healing now, forgive yourself and others.

The Best Monday Ever!
How was Monday everyone? Mine was awesomely great and literally hot, well, at least my Monday was, not me, haha!
Of course, today was my day off from work, and no on- call patients so far, thus I’m feeling a bit awesome. However, the weather is just so hot and humid the entire day, it feels like we’re just a kilometer away from the sun. I wonder how the ozone layer is doing up there?
I’m not complaining, at least we have the electric fan, and the trees in the backyard can somewhat help cool the air and hearing the leaves as the wind subtly blows is comforting. So grateful that we still have nature beside us, seeing the trees and the plants close to us is reassuring that indeed we still are standing on this beautiful planet. Thank God!
I intend to keep my “me time” to my side today. I even kept myself away from any virtual work related stuff, like our unit’s group chat, Twitter, readcash and Telegram, checking these apps would bug my mind to hustle and bustle. I just want to sleep, enjoy a meal, watch something to clear my mind from anything, then in the afternoon- a delivery came from Shopee. Oh yes! I waited for this for more than a week now, and I’m so excited to actually see the finish product.
When I opened the package, I was a bit perplexed what to do with all the white wooden parts that I needed to assemble. The side table was so easy to make, I borrowed my father’s screwdriver, then started to put up everything quickly. I finished it in less than two minutes I guess. I bought this for my mom, she’s been using a plastic stool chair for the telephone in the store for so many years already. When I saw this on Shopee, I thought this would be perfect for my mom. It only cost less than $4 and it looks really presentable, dainty and sturdy as well.
Then, another item I bought was this organizer for my dresser. I was a bit disappointed as soon as I opened the box because I actually ordered the wooden dark brown color that would be apt for my dresser’s color. As I started to assemble it, I was in a mess. For like a minute, I’m just staring at the guide on how to put up this thing, compared to the table, this organizer has 21 wooden parts making it more confusing. I have to inhale and exhale, and harness the power of MacGyver on me, lol!
I have to forget about the guide that comes with this organizer, it was really useless to stare at it. So, I ended up using trial and error, of course the wooden parts with paw markings were given, so I have to start with those. When it was halfway done, I noticed that I had two more wooden parts left uninstalled, and figured that it was for the back part, no choice but to remove everything again so I could put both. Oh well, thank you MacGyver! Haha! My mom is a fan of this TV series, it was her who told me to “act like him” so I could start building the organizer when she saw me scratching my head, haha!
That was one challenging ordeal for today, I was still able to keep my “me time” even by constructing the side table and organizer. Yes! I did it! I was so happy and satisfied looking at it and was about to start writing my review for the shop on Shopee when a peddler came selling some green mangoes. Oh my! I’m drooling while picking the best mangoes I could get from her basket, I bought 2 kilos and hurriedly went to the kitchen to cook “uyap” I don’t know what’s the English term for this, but, it’s a pinkish krill or small shrimps sauteed with garlic, onion, and small red chili pepper. So perfect with the green mangoes. Yum! The best way to end Monday.
Excuse my mom's hand, she can't wait to start eating before I could take a snap. I show this photo to her and she told me that the krill looks like from the canned corned beef, lol!

My Flying Mind
Hello! Hello! Earthlings! We are still on Earth, aren't we? I'm glad, so we could write something random again, and talk about my mind or your mind, eh? Wazzup or wassup? How are you doing today?
Me? Err, today, my mind has been wandering like Alice in Wonderland, but rather in Borderland, haha! Overthinking gets on my nerves making me so freaking tired that I just want to write my mind out. If we could laugh out loud, why not think out loud too? Like Ed Sheeran loves to do, oh I love that song "Thinking out loud... that maybe we found love right where we are..." Yah, maybe, just maybe. Sing with me, hehe!
Anyway, let's start with the free writing, oh! I just started it, yes? I am imagining how stand up comedians work, they too have fast minds to capture those witty and funny people and events everywhere. I actually hate them for being insensitive sometimes, I guess I have written my thoughts about it here on this article "Just a Joke?" Speaking of wow, this took me to this extraordinary film that I've seen some years ago. "The Beautiful Mind" is both an amazing and a tear jerking movie. You got to watch this, I don't know if it's on Netflix, but it's beautiful, literally. I love this quote from this film;

Indeed, having a beautiful mind is extraordinary, yet it can be an illness too. But, having a beautiful heart will never be a disorder to anyone, it's a blessing and a gift. If this film is based on a true story, then I'm happy that "Professor Nash" was able to find a woman that would love him for his brilliant mind and unique character.
Then, I was reminded of the worst minds. Some years back, I have been watching "Criminal Minds," this is an American TV series. I was not able to finish all fifteen seasons because I got impatient, I guess. However, I really find the mind reading thing from this group of people in the law enforcement interesting and mind-blowing.
Again, the youngest from this mind reading team, is a genius. So, yes, another brilliant mind, yet socially awkward in many ways. But, who can ignore their extraordinary talent.
Lastly, my flying mind that has driven me to write something for tonight, that's a mission impossible, I mean mission accomplished. Yey! Actually, it has been a day chasing my mind flying elsewhere and overthinking a lot of things. My colleagues told me that I was "lutang" at work today, I don't know what's that in English, but I disagree because my mind has been preoccupied really.

Tell Me Where It Hurts
90's! Perhaps the early 20hundredth? Can you still remember this song from MYMP "Tell Me Where It Hurts?" Anyway, I love this song way way way back memory lane, and I don't need to explain haha! One thing I love was the name of the band - MYMP is an acronym for "Make Your Mama Proud," isn't that the sweetest? But, this is not the topic for now, so let's proceed. Just want to flex it that quick.

I can't imagine I would be writing this, I want to laugh at the back of my mind haha! And one more, hahahha! k, let's get into serious business now. wink**
Getting hurt and to hurt someone are just so relatable, right? I mean, we've experienced that once, twice, or thrice in the past. Anyone can be hurting right now perhaps?
Not necessarily about relationships with random people, ahm not too random I mean, but how about "Isang Linggong Pag-Ibig" (One Week Love Affair) I think that's pretty random, right? But, let's not talk about that...
Achy breaky hearts often starts from conflicts with friends, colleagues, partners, and I have read articles hurting over parents and siblings. The pain sometimes is just traumatizing, I can feel it. However, there are no analgesics for this type of pain, and no quick and instant relief to numb that hurting feeling. Most often crying is the only way to express it. Sometimes, we need to go violent and get angry, or write an article, or post on social media to vent out that pain, or listen to another sad music and cry a river. But, still hurting.
Sigh.
Then, accidentally, we hurt others too. Words that we often times fail to tame when we're mad and hurting, adding the injury.

Something brief for tonight, I guess.
But wait, this article actually stems from my injury today at work while rushing to get my lunch in the hospital cafeteria. I accidentally and badly twisted my left ankle. I put it on cryotherapy right away, thus I felt it numb the pain. So, I continued working the entire afternoon. I'm okay the entire time, but felt the pain again every time I go through the stairs, now I can feel that it's a bit swollen. Sigh.
I am trudging half of the day working with a wee bit of pain, when our doctor called and checked my ankle, then asked "tell me where it hurts?" That's why I started laughing before getting into "serious business" here, because this has been the most common line we ask to patients complaining of pain, lol!

Random Words and Photos - In My Lens
Marhaba!
Greeting you with that random Arabic word hidden in my memory. I thought I had mentioned some months ago in one of my articles published here that I've worked overseas as a health worker for some years. And, in order to survive a foreign country with language as a barrier to communicate effectively, I have to learn some of the common words, indeed I still have kept pretty random words. So, marhaba means “welcome” in Arabic as I double checked it on Google, all along I thought it was “hello!”
Anyway, speaking of random words, there is a prompt I stumbled upon in one of the articles here, I guess it was from @Pichi28. Okay, now let me start with the first word:
**Neighborhood**
I took this photo this morning on my early morning walk, actually not-so-early anymore because the sun was up already. We don’t live near the sea, but we can enjoy the beauty of it just a few minutes away by foot. Our neighborhood is a blessing for us, it’s not so busy and crowded but very Pinoy. There’s a convenience store, sari-sari store, or corner store everywhere, lol! I say it is very typical in the Filipino community. My mom actually owns one for a long time now, but the neighbors would still put up another and another even if there’s already one. Moreover, there are friendly neighbors around that could be very reliable in gossip haha! This might sound negative to you, but this neighborhood has grown so much with time, thus our area has evolved into a commercial area nowadays which is actually a good source of income for my parents. Truly a blessing, so we will just ignore the gossip if there is… and enjoy life!
**Liberal**
The photo was taken last year when finally we got some liberty to move around after all the restrictions during the Covid19 pandemic. I thought that this would be apt for liberal because at this moment in this photo I realized that our freedom has been suppressed significantly for some time, and that seeing recreational centers open again, and kids are able to go out and play and socialize with others is just something we should always be grateful about. While our homes are so important for us to live, the freedom to interact with others is what we also need as social beings.
**Display**
This image was taken during the New Year 2022 in Kauswagan, Lanao del Norte. A lot of people in the nearby towns would love to visit their display of colorful lanterns every year. We passed by this municipality whenever we visited my mom’s hometown, thus it is always convenient for us to make a quick stopover to enjoy the scenery and the lights this time of the year. Tourism has been a really good business for towns and cities for the past few years and until now, so I think it is really smart for local governments to invest in projects such as this.
**Young**
Oh! I love this word! My gallery is actually filled with photos of these young and cute little fellas. One thing I love about photography is taking pictures of kids - my nephews and nieces. Children always have that flawless charm and effortless beauty, and the expression of their faces is always real and tangible. I took this photo a few years ago and it never left my phone’s gallery because it is one of my favorites.
**Mud**
Gosh! This one is hard. I don't have anything on the phone so my computer is on the rescue! Lol! This photo was taken years ago pre pandemic. I attended the Scott Kelby Photowalk that time in Cagayan de Oro City and perhaps it rained early in the morning so I have a capture of this puddle in the street. But, where is the mud?! Oh! It’s on my shoes haha! Small puddles such as these always bother me while walking on the streets, it’s muddy and annoying especially if I’m wearing white sneakers. I hope that would be fine for mud, before I get MAD thinking about what to write in this part, lol!
