Self-help: It's Okay to Rest

We have a lot of things that we wanted to achieve in life. Some of them are goals that we wanted to achieve in a short period of time, even if we know that it's quite impossible to do it. We push our limits so hard that we end up feeling exhausted on doing the things we want, but in the end, we didn't make it. We didn't achieved it on the desired time that we want it to happen. It will lewd us feeling down, or disappointed on ourselved knowing that we failed to achieve what we desired to achieve.
Well, fret not my friend, as today we'll talk about an important lesson that must be instilled in our minds. The important lesson that we must do in order to achieve our goals. It's a lesson that talks about the thought that, "It's Okay to Rest."
The Story of the Two Woodcutters
There was actually a story about two woodcutters. They are task to cut a trees that almost have the same size. They were given a deadline on how they should be able to finish cutting the trees. The first woodcutter was so diligent in cutting the tree. He never rested even for a moment with the thought in mind that he wanted to finish cutting the tree before the deadline. On the other hand, the second woodcutter would take a break and rest for a while before continuing on cutting the tree. The woodcutter usually does that until it was able to cut the tree.
Not to mention, as they were continuing cutting the trees, the first woodcutter who never rested even for a moment and just continue resting never able to finish cutting the tree on the deadline given, while the second woodcutter who was able to take a rest or a little breaks was able to finish cutting the tree before the deadline.
Now, the moral of the story is that, it's okay to rest for a moment before continuing the goal you have in mind. It's never wrong to rest and regain the energy that you have exerted and work productively again. What's wrong is pushing yourself too much even if your body can't take it anymore. Be gentle to yourself, take little breaks and you'll be able to achieve your goals in the time your desired it to be.

Important Lessons You Should Know
There are a lot of lessons that we should instill in our minds. These lessons are essential in order to make take extra more care of our well-being. We should remind ourselves these lessons for us not to feel guilty especially when we decided to rest for a moment.

It's okay to rest, but do not quit
You should always tell yourself that it's to rest. Just like taking a nap after soaking yourself on the computer for hours. It's okay to just sit in your terrace while looking at the view amidst all the tasks in queue. It's okay to take a break and prepare your favorite coffee. Well, it's really okay to rest, but do not quitting. Quitting means stopping fully the things that you have to do to achieve a goal, but resting means pausing for a moment and continuing after how many hours or minutes.
Rest when you need to
You know your body so much. You know whe it gets tired already. When you feel like resting, then rest. Never push yourself too hard. Your body is so precious, learn to take extra more care of it. Because in the end, if you will not take care of it, you will also be the one to suffer.
When we rest, we recharged
Resting is recharging. Recharging all the energy that you have lost after hours of staying at work. Imagine a phone or any gadget, after hours of using it, the batterly level decreses until it needs to be recharged, so as you. So learn to recharge when you need to. Never drain yourself too hard.
You don't always have to be busy
We don't always have to be busy to call a day productive. That's why we should chunk our goals or tasks specifically in order attain them within the time given. We can still be productive while taking breaks remember that.
Life is all about balance
We should not allow ourselves to just work, work and work purely throughout the days of our lives. We should learn to balance our lives. In the end, we will be the one to carry the consequences of burning out ourselves so much.
Closing Thoughts
It's okay to rest. It's okay to take some break. It's okay to give yourself sometime to chill or to relax while watching your favorite shows or doing the other things that you love. Never push yourself too hard. One day, you'll be able to achieve your goals without putting too much pressure on yourself. Above all, never feel guilty of resting, as resting could lead to a more productive day. As resting will help us relax and recharge that are essential for a more motivated self.
