Howdy ladies and gentlemen of read.cash, how was your Sunday? Unfortunately, it's over and Monday is fast approaching, which means our little weekend break is over and it's time to get back to work or school.
As it's my usual routine every morning, I logged into Twitter to get some updates and that was when I saw everyone talking about a popular football player in Manchester United and how his career is practically over because of what he did, the person I am talking about is Mason Greenwood.
I was still a bit confused about what was going on, I only got vague info that he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend, and apparently, there is a video containing an audio file of him physically and sexually abusing. I scrolled down my feed to see if anybody posted the video but I couldn't find it, so I checked the trends table and Greenwood was trending (still trending till now).
It was through the trend that I came across the video. I was truly disgusted while watching it, there were pictures of the girlfriend with injuries all over her body as well as the audio of Greenwood sexually abusing her, it was really heartbreaking.
The internet was divided (as usual) with some people condemning what he did, while on the other side we have people saying we should wait to hear Greenwood's side of the story, that may be the girlfriend did something to him.
But does it matter? What exactly did the girlfriend do to warrant him beating her to a pulp? I am not saying it doesn't matter to hear his side of the story, what I meant is that it won't justify assaulting her, no matter what she did.
I still find it appalling that people are out there defending Greenwood, saying things like the girlfriend must have done something to him. Someone posted pictures of herself bleeding and people are more worried about what she did to warrant the beating.
What's even more disgusting is that some persons are saying she's probably trying to blackmail Greenwood, even when there was hard evidence like the audio file, which clearly captures Greenwood's voice sexually abusing his girlfriend. So I guess she gave herself those injuries and also came up with a fake audio file to drive home her point, right?
A lot of celebrities and footballers like Cristiana Ronaldo and David De Gea have started distancing themselves from Greenwood, they have unfollowed him on Instagram. Manchester United has said Greenwood won't be taking part in training and matches till further notice and I also heard he has been arrested but still, we are yet to hear from Greenwood.
What exactly do people gain from assaulting their partner? Does it give them pleasure to see their significant other in pain? Or perhaps it makes them feel they are in control or they are powerful, I just don't understand them. Even if they are tired of the relationship, why not let the person go instead of trying to chase them away by being a beast?
The funny thing is that we all think women are usually the victims of an abusive relationship but I have come across a couple of stories where men are the victims, but it's very rare. Most of the time, it's usually women that are the victim and some of them won't even get out of the relationship until it's too late.
Recently I came across a video on Whatsapp of a man beating his wife with a belt and a baby was on the floor crying, this man went for the baby and threw him across the room! 💔 It wasn't enough that he was beating his wife, he extended the violence to a little child and I later heard the baby died.
The last update I got on that incident was that the man was arrested and I seriously hope justice is served, but right now it's already too late for the baby. There are other stories such as these all over the world with husbands beating up their wives and the victims won't even tell anybody because they are trying to protect their marriage.
Right now, I am still waiting to hear what Greenwood has to say for himself before I conclude on things, but for now, he is very wrong for assaulting his girlfriend. There are two sides to a story, but the girlfriend's story is looking very strong right now considering all the evidence. If he is innocent, then he should speak up.

Well one shouldn't just go ahead and judge this kinda issues. I mean women can be very dramatic. So we can't say for sure what actually happened.
